2 Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
3 Nnɛ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ pugu pa thishɨ pa ŋgwa Juu paoŋ ntuʼɔ Kaifa, mbɔ *taathɔ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ,
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas,

4 and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;

5 but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.

7 a woman, having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, came to him and poured it out upon his head as he lay at table.
8 Ndɔ pa ghaŋ younjiŋ pi ni mbɨgɨ túa ndɨɨ ŋa pugu ni njəɨ nnu yei nɛ, nnɛ nchhu ŋa, “Láʼo yei phɛ pɔ pi ŋa?
8 But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end {was} this waste?

9 for this might have been sold for much and been given to the poor.
10 Ndɔ Jishɔ ji nnu ŋa pugu chhu nu nɛ, nnɛ, nchhu ni pugu ŋa, “Pəɨ ghana miŋgwɛ vi nɛ ŋa? A chwīe pi nnu shiʼi vəɨ.
10 But Jesus knowing {it} said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? for she has wrought a good work toward me.
11 Nthɛ ŋa pəɨ ghà ŋguʼɔ mfāʼo pa ghaŋ pou ŋguoŋ ndɨɨ, ndɔ mbaʼa pəɨ yiʼi mfāʼo a ŋguoŋ ndɨɨ.
11 For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.
12 A shāʼo laminda yei mbɨŋ mu nɔ pīri nu noŋ a nɔ twei nu.
12 For in pouring out this ointment on my body, she has done it for my burying.
13 Shishini, ǹchhu ni pəɨ ŋa sheshe lɨʼɨ ŋa pi shi nchīi ŋkɨ̀nɨ pwa pishaʼakhɔ yei moŋ ŋguoŋ mbhi nɛ, nnu ŋa miŋgwɛ vei chwīe nɛ, pi shi nchhu nɔ kwiŋ nu vi.”
13 Verily I say to you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, that also which this {woman} has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
14 Taʼa ŋoŋ shɨna paanchrɔ pa ghaŋ younjiŋ Jishɔ mbɔ Judashi Ishikario ghə̄ɨ njəɨ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ,

16 And from that time he sought a good opportunity that he might deliver him up.
17 A ni mbɔ fǔoŋ llɛ́ jɨ Jɨ Brɛi Ki Kuʼɔ, pa ghaŋ younjiŋ Jishɔ thɔ njəɨ vi, nchhu nu ghɔ ŋa, “Ɔ tāʼa nu ŋa pigi pīri maoŋ jɨ Lli Njiʼa vɛ pi hɨŋ?”

18 And he said, Go into the city unto such a one, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near, I will keep the passover in thy house with my disciples.

19 And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the passover.
20 A ni ŋga mbɔ ni fanaoŋ, a chɔchɔ yəɨ taprɛi nthɔ njɨ maoŋ pugu pa paanchrɔ ghɔ.
20 And when the evening was come he lay down at table with the twelve.
21 Nɔ haʼaŋ pugu ni njɨ nu nɛ, Jishɔ chhu ŋa, “Shishini, ǹshwei vəɨ, taʼa ŋoŋ shɨna pəɨ shi mfīni a.”
21 And as they were eating he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.
22 Nnu ghɔ wīni vugu ŋkiɛŋ ntou yi, pugu jɛ̄ nchhu nu ghɔ pa taʼa yi taʼa yi ŋa, “Taathɔ, ŋa a lɔ mbɔ mmu?”
22 And being exceedingly grieved they began to say to him, each of them, Is it *I*, Lord?
23 A khwɛ̄ ŋa, “Ŋoŋ ŋa mbhɔ yigi yu shi mbāoŋ moŋ pɛiŋ nɛ, a ju ŋa a shi mfīni a nɛ.
23 But he answering said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, *he* it is who shall deliver me up.
24 Muuŋ Ŋoŋmishua shi ŋguʼɔ ŋgə̄ɨ pi nɔ haʼaŋ pi nāʼaŋ nthɛ vi nɛ, ndɔ ŋgəʼɨ shi ŋgwɛ̄iŋ ŋoŋ vɛ ŋa a fīni vi nɛ. A ni mbwa ghɔ ŋa kiʼi pi phi vi.”
24 The Son of man goes indeed, according as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; it were good for that man if he had not been born.
25 Judashi, ŋa a ni mfīni vi nɛ, chhu ŋa, “Masha, ŋa a lɔ mbɔ mmu?”
25 And Judas, who delivered him up, answering said, Is it *I*, Rabbi? He says to him, *Thou* hast said.
26 Nɔ haʼaŋ pugu ni nchhɔ njɨ nu nɛ, Jishɔ lɔ̄gɔ brɛi, ŋga ŋkwo tōo Minnwi, mbəʼɨ mfɛ ni pa ghaŋ younjiŋ pi, nchhu ŋa, “Pəɨ kwe ŋkru, yei frɛinoŋ a.”

27 And having taken {the} cup and given thanks, he gave {it} to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.
28 Nthɛ ŋa làʼo yei chhǐ a ŋa a krao *kɨ̀na yɛ ŋa Minnwi wrā pugu pɔ ŋgwa pi nɛ, ŋa a ni ŋkwrī nthɛ ntou ŋgwa nɔ līʼɛ nu pa phɨ.
28 For this is my blood, that of the {new} covenant, that shed for many for remission of sins.
29 Ndɔ ǹshwei vəɨ ŋa m̀baʼa nuʼuŋ nnu làʼo yei pia, ti ŋgə̄ɨ nchəɨŋ ndɨɨ ŋa ǹshi mbɨnɨ nnu pia kaʼa fifhi moŋ Shaʼafuoŋ Tǎa a nɛ.”
29 But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.

34 Disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo: nesta noite mesma, antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás.
35 Pita chhu ghɔ ŋa, “Ä njiʼi mbɔ pi ŋa pɔgɔ khu kaʼa, paʼa ǹdɔ ndāa ghɔ.” Ŋguoŋ pichəɨ pa ghaŋ younjiŋ pi wuʼɔ nchhu pi nnɛ.
35 Respondeu-lhe Pedro: Mesmo que seja necessário morrer contigo, jamais te negarei! E todos os outros discípulos diziam-lhe o mesmo.

39 Adiantou-se um pouco e, prostrando-se com a face por terra, assim rezou: Meu Pai, se é possível, afasta de mim este cálice! Todavia não se faça o que eu quero, mas sim o que tu queres.

40 Foi ter então com os discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. E disse a Pedro: Então não pudestes vigiar uma hora comigo...

41 Vigiai e orai para que não entreis em tentação. O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.
42 Nɔ mbra ŋgɛ, a pɨnɨ ŋgə̄ɨ nduoŋ Minnwi, nchhu nu ŋa, “Tǎa a, ä mbɔ ŋa minthɛ paʼa ndua ŋgəʼɨ yei lɔ tɔgɔ ki ǹdɔ njiʼi nnu, a pɔ nɛ nɔ haʼaŋ ɔ tāʼa nu nɛ.”
42 Afastou-se pela segunda vez e orou, dizendo: Meu Pai, se não é possível que este cálice passe sem que eu o beba, faça-se a tua vontade!
43 Jishɔ pɨ̄nɨ ŋkamuʼɔŋ njəɨ vugu pugu llɛ nu, nthɛ ŋa lɔ̄gɔ ni ndɨnaoŋ ligi pugu.
43 Voltou ainda e os encontrou novamente dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados.
44 A pɨnɨ nuʼuŋ mieŋ vugu ŋgə̄ɨ nduoŋ Minnwi, a pɔ trɛi ŋgɛ, ŋguʼɔ nchhu pi taʼa nnu ghɔ ŋa a ni ŋkwo fǔoŋ nchhu nɛ.
44 Deixou-os e foi orar pela terceira vez, dizendo as mesmas palavras.
45 Nnɛ a thɔ njəɨ pa ghaŋ younjiŋ pi nchhu ni pugu ŋa, “Pəɨ wuʼɔ nchhɔ ndhɛ nu mfɛrɛ noŋ yəɨ? Njəɨ, ndɨɨ kāʼo nɛ, pi fīni Muuŋ Ŋoŋmishua nɛ ni pa ghaŋ phɨ.
45 Voltou então para os seus discípulos e disse-lhes: Dormi agora e repousai! Chegou a hora: o Filho do Homem vai ser entregue nas mãos dos pecadores...

47 Jesus ainda falava, quando veio Judas, um dos Doze, e com ele uma multidão de gente armada de espadas e cacetes, enviada pelos príncipes dos sacerdotes e pelos anciãos do povo.

51 Mas um dos companheiros de Jesus desembainhou a espada e feriu um servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha.

52 Jesus, no entanto, lhe disse: Embainha tua espada, porque todos aqueles que usarem da espada, pela espada morrerão.

54 Mas como se cumpririam então as Escrituras, segundo as quais é preciso que seja assim?
55 Moŋ ndɨɨ ghɔ Jishɔ chhu ni yú ŋgwa pighɔ ŋa, “M̀bɔ pi ŋgɨna minwi ŋa pəɨ thɔ nu ŋgwɛ̄iŋ a ni pa kafa pugu pa wrɛ́i? Pa lɛllɛ ŋga nchhɔ Nda Minnwi njɛʼi nu paʼa pəɨ lɔ ŋgwɛ̄iŋ a.
55 Depois, voltando-se para a turba, falou: Saístes armados de espadas e porretes para prender-me, como se eu fosse um malfeitor. Entretanto, todos os dias estava eu sentado entre vós ensinando no templo e não me prendestes.
56 Ndɔ ŋguoŋ pa nnu pei lɔ̄gɔ lɨʼɨ nnɛ nɔ chwīe nu nnu ŋa pa njəɨlɨʼɨ Minnwi ni nāʼaŋ nɛ lɔ̄gɔ lɨʼɨ.” Nnɛ ŋguoŋ pa ghaŋ younjiŋ pi mieŋ vi ntei ni vugu.
56 Mas tudo isto aconteceu porque era necessário que se cumprissem os oráculos dos profetas. Então os discípulos o abandonaram e fugiram.
57 Ŋgwa pɛ ŋa pugu ni ŋgwɛ̄iŋ Jishɔ nɛ lɔ̄gɔ vi ŋgə̄ɨ nɔ shhɨ Kaifa, mbɔ taathɔ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ, mbɔ lɨʼɨ ŋa pa ghaŋ yɛʼi ŋgwa ni gɨ́ Mushi pugu pa pichəɨ pa thishɨ ni ŋkɨrɨ nɛ.
57 Os que haviam prendido Jesus levaram-no à casa do sumo sacerdote Caifás, onde estavam reunidos os escribas e os anciãos do povo.
58 Pita ni thɔ nu njiŋ pugu ndɔ mbɔ pi fie hiŋ, mbɔ nɔ haʼaŋ yɨna taathɔ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ ni mbɔ nɛ nii nchɔchhɔ pugu pa ghaŋ kɛ̄ʼi lɨʼɨ nɔ yəɨ nu nnu ŋa a shi ndɔ̄gɔ lɨʼɨ nɛ.
58 Pedro seguia-o de longe, até o pátio do sumo sacerdote. Entrou e sentou-se junto aos criados para ver como terminaria aquilo.
59 Pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ pugu pa ŋguoŋ pa kúŋ ghao ni nthɔ ntāʼa lɛʼiŋgiɛŋ ŋa minthɛ pugu shwiʼi thɔ Jishɔ nnɛ ŋa pugu jwi vi nɛ.
59 Enquanto isso, os príncipes dos sacerdotes e todo o conselho procuravam um falso testemunho contra Jesus, a fim de o levarem à morte.
60 Ndɔ pugu shini ndɔ fāʼo sheshe yi, njiʼi nthɛ pi nɔ haʼaŋ ntou pa ghaŋ piŋ nnu mbe ni ntaoŋ nthɔ nɛ. Ndugwi yi, yi paa taoŋ nthɔ shhɨ
60 Mas não o conseguiram, embora se apresentassem muitas falsas testemunhas.
61 nchhu ŋa, “Ŋoŋ vei ni nchhu ŋa, ‘Mfāʼo ghrɨ́ nɔ shaʼa nu Nda Minnwi mfɛ shhɛ mbɨnɨ ŋkrao moŋ trɛi llɛ́.’ ”
61 Por fim, apresentaram-se duas testemunhas, que disseram: Este homem disse: Posso destruir o templo de Deus e reedificá-lo em três dias.
62 Ndɔ taathɔ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ lɔllɔ ntithi tɔthɨ nchhu ŋa, “Ɔ lɔ mfāʼo khwɛ̀ nɔ fɛ nu? Nnu ŋa ŋgwa pei wɛ̄iŋ ghɔ ŋa ɔ chwīe nɛ pɔ pi khɔ?”
62 Levantou-se o sumo sacerdote e lhe perguntou: Nada tens a responder ao que essa gente depõe contra ti?
63 Ndɔ paʼa Jishɔ lɔ nchrā. Taathɔ pa thishɨ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ chhu ghɔ ŋa, “M̀fɛ gɨ́ vɛ nɔ ligi Minnwi maoŋ ŋa ɔ shwei vigi ŋa ɔ Ju ŋa Minnwi Chuʼɔ Ntaoŋ nɔ Ŋkwe mbɔ Muuŋ Minnwi nɛ?”
63 Jesus, no entanto, permanecia calado. Disse-lhe o sumo sacerdote: Por Deus vivo, conjuro-te que nos digas se és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus?

64 Jesus respondeu: Sim. Além disso, eu vos declaro que vereis doravante o Filho do Homem sentar-se à direita do Todo-poderoso, e voltar sobre as nuvens do céu.

66 Qual o vosso parecer? Eles responderam: Merece a morte!

67 Cuspiram-lhe então na face, bateram-lhe com os punhos e deram-lhe tapas,

69 Enquanto isso, Pedro estava sentado no pátio. Aproximou-se dele uma das servas, dizendo: Também tu estavas com Jesus, o Galileu.

74 Pedro então começou a fazer imprecações, jurando que nem sequer conhecia tal homem. E, neste momento, cantou o galo.
75 Nnɛ Pita kwiŋ nnu ŋa Jishɔ ni nchhu nɛ ŋa, “Ŋkaoŋ miŋkəʼɨ ma ŋkhwɛ, ɔ shi ndāa a ni trɛi ŋgɛ.” Ǹtaoŋ mbhi ŋkə̄ɨ a ghaʼa.
75 Pedro recordou-se do que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que o galo cante, negar-me-ás três vezes. E saindo, chorou amargamente.
