1 وإِنْتُومَا زَادَا يَا نْسَاء، إِخْضْعُوا لْرْجَالْكُمْ، بَاشْ حَتَّى كَانْ فِيهُمْ الِّي مَا يَمِّنْشْ بْكِلْمِةْ اللَّهْ، مُمْكِنْ تْنَجِّمْ تِرْبْحُو لِلْإِيمَانْ بْسِيرِتْهَا البَاهْيَة مِنْ غِيرْ مَا تِتْكَلِّمْ،
1 — ausente —
2 وَقْتِلِّي يْلَاحِظْ سِيرِتْهَا المُحْتَرْمَة والعْفِيفَة.
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 مَا تْخَلِّيوِشْ زِينِتْكُمْ تْكُونْ بِالزِّينَة البَرَّانِيَة، بِالشْعَرْ المَظْفُورْ والصْيَاغَة الذْهَبْ واللِّبْسَة الغَالْيَة،
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 آمَا خَلِّيوْ زِينِتْكُمْ تْكُونْ دَخْلَانِيَّة، فِي القَلْبْ، زِينِةْ الرُّوحْ السِّيْسَة والهَادْيَة. هَاذِي هِيَّ الزِّينَة الِّي مَا تِفْنَاشْ، ولِّي قِيمِتْهَا عَنْدْ اللَّهْ كْبِيرَة.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 وقْبَلْ، كَانُوا النْسَاء الصَّالْحَاتْ الِّي حَطُّوا رْجَاهُمْ فِي اللَّهْ يْزَيْنُوا رْوَاحْهُمْ بِالزِّينَة هَاذِي. وكَانِتْ كُلْ وَحْدَة اطِّيعْ رَاجِلْهَا،
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 كِيمَا كَانِتْ سَارَّة اطِّيعْ إِبْرَاهِيمْ، وتْنَادِيلُو سِيدِي. إِنْتُومَا تْوَلِّيوْ بْنَاتْهَا بِالحَقْ، كِي تِتْصَرْفُوا بِالبَاهِي ومَا تْخَافُوا مِنْ حَتَّى شَيْ.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 وإِنْتُومَا زَادَا يَا رْجَالْ، عِيشُوا مْعَ نْسَاكُمْ مْرَاعِينْ الِّي هُومَا أَضْعَفْ مِنْكُمْ، وإِكْرْمُوهُمْ عْلَى خَاطِرْهُمْ مْشَارْكِينْكُمْ فِي نَفْسْ الوَرْثَة، الِّي هِيَّ نِعْمِةْ الحَيَاةْ، بَاشْ حَتَّى شَيْ مَا يْعَطِّلْ صْلَاتْكُمْ.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 وآخِرْ حَاجَة، كُونُوا الكُلْكُمْ بْرَايْ وَاحِدْ، حِسُّوا بِبْعَضْكُمْ وحِبُّوا بْعَضْكُمْ كِي الإِخْوَة وكُونُوا حْنَانْ ومِتْوَاضْعِينْ.

9 مَا تْرَجْعُوشْ عَالشَّرْ بِالشَّرْ وعَالسَّبَّة بْسَبَّة. بِالعَكْسْ، بَارْكُوا، عْلَى خَاطِرْ هَاذَا الِّي دْعَاكُمْ لِيهْ اللَّهْ، وهَكَّا إِنْتُومَا زَادَا تِتْبَارْكُوا.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 والكْتُبْ المُقَدْسَة تْقُولْ:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ويِبْعِدْ عَالشَّرْ ويَعْمِلْ الخِيرْ،
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 عْلَى خَاطِرْ عِينِينْ اللَّهْ تْشُوفْ الصَّالْحِينْ
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 مَالَا شْكُونْ يْنَجِّمْ يْضُرْكُمْ إِذَا كَانْ تَحَرْصُوا عْلَى فِعْلْ الخِيرْ؟
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 آمَا حَتَّى كَانْ تِتْعَذْبُوا عْلَى خَاطِرْ تَعْمْلُوا الصَّلَاحْ، صَحَّة لِيكُمْ! مَا تْخَافُوشْ مِلِّي يْحِبُّوا يْضُرُّوكُمْ ومَا تِتْقَلْقُوشْ،
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 آمَا إِكْرْمُوا المَسِيحْ وخَلِّيوَهْ هُوَّ السَّيِّدْ عْلَى قْلُوبْكُمْ. وكُونُوا دِيمَا حَاضْرِينْ بَاشْ تْجَاوْبُوا أَيْ وَاحِدْ يِسْإِلْكُمْ عْلَى سْبَبْ الرْجَى الِّي عَنْدْكُمْ.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 وأَعْمْلُوا هَاذَا بِسْيَاسَة وإِحْتِرَامْ وخَلِّيوْ ضَمِيرْكُمْ دِيمَا طَاهِرْ، بَاشْ الِّي يَحْكِيوْ بِالخَايِبْ عْلَى سِيرِتْكُمْ الصَّالْحَة بِإِعْتِبَارْكُمْ مُؤْمْنِينْ بِالمَسِيحْ، يِحْشْمُوا عْلَى رْوَاحْهُمْ.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 إِذَا كَانْ اللَّهْ حَبِّلْكُمْ تِتْعَذْبُوا، خِيرِلْكُمْ تِتْعَذْبُوا وإِنْتُومَا تَعْمْلُوا فِي الخِيرْ، مِلِّي تِتْعَذْبُوا وإِنْتُومَا تَعْمْلُوا فِي الشَّرْ.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 المَسِيحْ زَادَا
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ومْشَى بْنَفْسْ الرُّوحْ، بَشِّرْ الأَرْوَاحْ المَرْبُوطَة،
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 الِّي رَفْضُوا بَاشْ يْطِيعُوا اللَّهْ فِي أَيَّامَاتْ نُوحْ، وَقْتِلِّي كَانْ اللَّهْ صَابِرْ عْلِيهُمْ طُولْ المُدَّة الِّي كَانْ فِيهَا نُوحْ يَصْنَعْ فِي السْفِينَة، وفِي الطُّوفَانْ مَا نْجَاوْ فِيهَا كَانْ شْوَيَّة عْبَادْ ولِّي هُومَا ثْمَنْيَة مِالنَّاسْ أَكَهَوْ.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 والنْجَاةْ هَاذِي تُرْمُزْ لِلْمَعْمُودِيَّة، ومُشْ مَقْصُودْ بِيهَا غَسْلَانْ وْسَخْ البْدَنْ، آمَا هِيَّ عَهْدْ ضَمِيرْ طَاهِرْ قُدَّامْ اللَّهْ، الِّي يْنَجِّيكُمْ بِقْيَامِةْ يَسُوعْ المَسِيحْ،
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 الِّي طْلَعْ لِلسْمَاء وهُوَّ تَوَّا قَاعِدْ عْلَى يْمِينْ اللَّهْ، وتِخْضَعْلُو المْلَايْكَة والقَادَة والحُكَّامْ الِّي فِي العَالِمْ الرُّوحِي.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
