¹ My heart overflows with a good matter. I speak the things which I have made concerning the king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

¹ O meu coração trasborda de boas palavras; dirijo os meus versos ao rei; a minha língua é qual pena de um hábil escriba.

² Thou are fairer than the sons of men. Grace is poured into thy lips. Therefore God has blessed thee forever.

² Tu és o mais formoso dos filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou nos teus lábios; por isso Deus te abençoou para sempre.

³ Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, thy glory and thy majesty.

³ Cinge a tua espada à coxa, ó valente, na tua glória e majestade.

⁴ And in thy majesty ride on prosperously because of truth and gentleness [and] righteousness. And thy right hand shall teach thee awesome things.

⁴ E em tua majestade cavalga vitoriosamente pela causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça, e a tua destra te ensina coisas terríveis.

⁵ Thine arrows are sharp. The peoples fall under thee. [They are] in the heart of the king's enemies.

⁵ As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei; os povos caem debaixo de ti.

⁶ Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of straightness is the scepter of thy kingdom.

⁶ O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste pelos séculos dos séculos; cetro de eqüidade é o cetro do teu reino.

⁷ Thou have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy companions.

⁷ Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniqüidade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.

⁸ All thy garments [smell of] myrrh, and aloes, [and] cassia. Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.

⁸ Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra a aloés e a cássia; dos palácios de marfim os instrumentos de cordas e te alegram.

⁹ Kings' daughters are among thy honorable women. At thy right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.

⁹ Filhas de reis estão entre as tuas ilustres donzelas; à tua mão direita está a rainha, ornada de ouro de Ofir.

¹⁰ Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear. Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house.

¹⁰ Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa de teu pai.

¹¹ So will the king desire thy beauty, for he is thy lord, and reverence thou him.

¹¹ Então o rei se afeiçoará à tua formosura. Ele é teu senhor, presta-lhe, pois, homenagem.

¹² And the daughter of Tyre shall adore him with a gift. The rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.

¹² A filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.

¹³ Inside, the king's daughter is all glorious. Her clothing is embroidered with gold.

¹³ A filha do rei está esplendente lá dentro do palácio; as suas vestes são entretecidas de ouro.

¹⁴ She shall be led to the king in broidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to thee.

¹⁴ Em vestidos de cores brilhantes será conduzida ao rei; as virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem, serão trazidas à tua presença.

¹⁵ With gladness and rejoicing they shall be led. They shall enter into the king's palace.

¹⁵ Com alegria e regozijo serão trazidas; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.

¹⁶ Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shall make rulers in all the earth.

¹⁶ Em lugar de teus pais estarão teus filhos; tu os farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.

¹⁷ I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations. Therefore the peoples shall give thee thanks forever and ever.

¹⁷ Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
