1 In the eiythe monethe, in the secounde yeer of Darius, the word of the Lord was maad to Sacarie, the sone of Barachie, the sone of Addo,
1 No oitavo mês do segundo ano do reinado de Dario, a palavra do Senhor foi dirigida ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ado, nestes termos:
2 profete, and seide, The Lord is wrooth on youre fadris with wrathfulnesse.
2 O Senhor estava profundamente irritado contra os vossos pais.
3 And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis. Be ye conuertid to me, seith the Lord of oostis, and Y schal be conuertid to you, seith the Lord of oostis.
3 Dize a {este povo}: eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: voltai a mim - oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos - e eu voltarei a vós - oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos.
4 Be ye not as youre fadris, to whiche the formere profetis crieden, seiynge, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Be ye conuertid fro youre yuel weies, and youre worste thouytis; and thei herden not, nether token tent to me, seith the Lord of oostis.
4 Não sejais como vossos pais a quem os profetas de outrora clamaram, dizendo: eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: deixai vossos maus caminhos e vossas más ações; e eles não ouviram, não prestaram atenção aos meus avisos - oráculo do Senhor.
5 Where ben youre fadris and profetis? whether thei schulen lyue with outen ende?
5 Onde estão vossos pais? Podem porventura os profetas viver eternamente? Quanto aos avisos e às ordens que encarreguei os meus servos, os profetas, de transmitir ao povo, não foram eles executados junto de vossos pais?
6 Netheles my wordis and my lawful thingis, whiche Y comaundide to my seruauntis profetis, whether thei tauyten not youre fadris? And thei weren conuertid, and seiden, As the Lord of oostys thouyte for to do to vs bi oure weies, and bi oure fyndingis he dide to vs.
6 Por isso vossos pais caíram em si mesmos e, confusos, confessaram: o Senhor dos exércitos tratou-nos como tinha resolvido proceder conosco, segundo o nosso proceder e as nossas obras.
7 In the foure and twentithe dai of the enleuenthe monethe Sabath, in the secounde yeer of Darius, the word of the Lord was maad to Sacarie, sone of Barachie, sone of Addo,
7 No vigésimo quarto dia do décimo primeiro mês {o mês de Sabat} do segundo ano do reinado de Dario, a palavra do Senhor foi dirigida ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ado, nestes termos:
8 profete, and seide, Y saiy bi niyt, and lo! a man stiynge on a reed hors; and he stood bitwixe places where mirtis wexen, that weren in the depthe, and aftir hym weren horsis reede, dyuerse, and white.
8 tive uma visão durante a noite. Percebi, entre as murtas do fundo do vale, um homem montado num cavalo vermelho, e atrás dele estavam cavalos ruços, alazões e brancos.
9 And Y seide, My lord, who ben these? And an aungel of the Lord seide to me, that spak in me, Y schal schewe to thee what these ben.
9 Eu perguntei: Meu senhor, que cavalos são estes? E o anjo porta-voz respondeu-me: Vou explicar-te.
10 And the man that stood bitwix places where mirtis wexen, answeride, and seide, These it ben, whiche the Lord sente, that thei walke thorouy erthe.
10 O homem que se encontrava entre as murtas respondeu: Estes são os {mensageiros} que o Senhor mandou para percorrer a terra.
11 And thei answeriden to the aungel of the Lord, that stood bitwixe places where mirtis wexen, and seiden, We han walkid thorouy erthe, and lo! al erthe is enhabitid, and restith.
11 Então os cavaleiros disseram ao anjo do Senhor que permanecia entre as murtas: Acabamos de percorrer toda a terra, e vimos que toda a terra está em tranqüilidade e descanso.
12 And the aungel of the Lord answeride, and seide, Lord of oostis, hou long schalt thou not haue merci on Jerusalem, and citees of Juda, to whiche thou art wrooth? This now is the seuentithe yeer.
12 O anjo do Senhor disse: Senhor dos exércitos! Até quando ficareis insensível à sorte de Jerusalém e das cidades de Judá? Já faz setenta anos que estais irritado contra elas!
13 And the Lord answeride to the aungel, that spak in me, goode wordis, and wordis of coumfort.
13 O Senhor respondeu ao anjo que me falava, e disse-lhe boas palavras, cheias de consolação.
14 And the aungel that spak in me, seide to me, Crie thou, seiynge, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Y louyde Jerusalem and Sion in greet feruour;
14 E o anjo disse-me: Proclama o seguinte: eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: estou animado de ardente amor por Jerusalém e por Sião; porém, sumamente irritado contra as nações que vivem despreocupadas.
15 and in greet wraththe Y schal be wroth on riche folkis; for Y was wrooth a litil, forsothe thei helpiden in to yuel.
15 Eu só estava ligeiramente agastado contra Israel, mas {estas nações} ultrapassaram a medida.
16 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, Y schal turne ayen to Jerusalem in mercies. Myn hous schal be bildid in it, seith the Lord of oostis; and a plomet schal be streiyt out on Jerusalem.
16 Por isso, eis o que diz o Senhor: volto novamente para Jerusalém cheio de compaixão; minha casa será nela reedificada - oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos - e o cordel será estendido sobre Jerusalém.
17 Yit crie thou, seiynge, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Yit my citees schulen flete with goodis, and yit the Lord schal coumforte Sion, and yit he schal chese Jerusalem.
17 Farás a proclamação seguinte: eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: minhas cidades terão de novo muitas riquezas; o Senhor será a consolação de Sião, e a sua escolha cairá novamente sobre Jerusalém.
18 And Y reiside myn iyen, and Y saiy, and lo! foure hornes.
18 Levantando os olhos, vi quatro cornos;
19 And Y seide to the aungel that spak in me, What ben these? And he seide to me, These ben hornes, that wyndewiden Juda, and Israel, and Jerusalem.
19 e perguntei ao porta-voz: Meu senhor, que cornos são estes? Ele respondeu-me: Estes são os cornos que dispersaram Jerusalém e Judá.
20 And the Lord schewide to me foure smythis.
20 O Senhor mostrou-me então quatro ferreiros.
21 And Y seide, What comen these for to do? Which spak, seiynge, These ben the hornes, that wyndewiden Juda bi alle men, and no man of hem reiside his heed; and these camen for to make hem aferd, that thei caste doun the hornes of hethene men, which reisiden horn on the lond of Juda, for to scatere it.
21 Eu perguntei: Esses, que vêm fazer? Os cornos, respondeu-me ele, haviam dispersado Judá de tal forma que ninguém mais ousava levantar a cabeça; mas eis que vieram esses ferreiros para destruí-los, para abater os cornos que as nações tinham levantado contra a terra de Judá, a fim de dispersar {os seus habitantes}.
