1 In the thridde monethe of the goyng `of Israel out of the lond of Egipt, in this dai thei camen in to the wildirnesse of Synai;
1 No terceiro mês depois da saída dos filhos de Israel da terra do Egito, no primeiro dia desse mês, eles chegaram ao deserto do Sinai.
2 for thei yeden forth fro Rafidym, and camen til in to deseert of Synai, and settiden tentis in the same place; and there Israel settide tentis, euen ayens the hil.
2 Tendo partido de Refidim, vieram ao deserto do Sinai, no qual acamparam; ali Israel acampou em frente ao monte.
3 Forsothe Moises stiede in to the hil to God; and the Lord clepide hym fro the mount, and seide, Thou schalt seie these thingis to the hows of Jacob, and thou schalt telle to the sones of Israel,
3 Moisés subiu para encontrar-se com Deus. E do monte o Senhor o chamou e lhe disse: — Assim você falará à casa de Jacó e anunciará aos filhos de Israel:
4 Ye silf han seyn what thingis Y haue do to Egipcians, how Y bar you on the wengis of eglis, and took to me.
4 “Vocês viram o que fiz aos egípcios e como levei vocês sobre asas de águia e os trouxe para perto de mim.
5 Therfor if ye schulen here my vois, and schulen kepe my couenaunt, ye schulen be to me in to a specialte of alle puplis; for al the lond is myn;
5 Agora, pois, se ouvirem atentamente a minha voz e guardarem a minha aliança, vocês serão a minha propriedade peculiar dentre todos os povos. Porque toda a terra é minha,
6 and ye schulen be to me in to a rewme of preesthod, and `ye schulen be an hooli folk; these ben the wordis whiche thou schalt speke to the sones of Israel.
6 e vocês serão para mim um reino de sacerdotes e uma nação santa.” São estas as palavras que você falará aos filhos de Israel.
7 Moyses cam, and whanne the gretter men in birthe of the puple weren clepid to gidere, he expownede alle the wordis whiche the Lord comaundide.
7 Moisés foi, chamou os anciãos do povo e expôs diante deles todas estas palavras que o Senhor lhe havia ordenado.
8 And alle the puple answeride to gidere, We schulen do alle thingis whiche the Lord spak. And whanne Moises hadde teld the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
8 Então todo o povo respondeu a uma só voz: — Tudo o que o E Moisés relatou ao
9 the Lord seide to hym, Riyt now Y schal come to thee in a derknesse of a cloude, that the puple here me spekynge to thee, and bileue to thee withouten ende. Therfor Moises telde the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
9 O Senhor disse a Moisés: — Eis que virei a você numa nuvem escura, para que o povo ouça quando eu falar com você e para que também creiam sempre em você. Porque Moisés tinha anunciado as palavras do povo ao
10 which seide to Moises, Go thou to the puple, and make hem holi to dai and to morewe, and waische thei her clothis,
10 E o Senhor disse a Moisés: — Vá ao povo e consagre-o no dia de hoje e amanhã. Que eles lavem as suas roupas
11 and be thei redi in to the thridde dai; for in the thridde dai the Lord schal come doun bifore al the puple on the hil of Synai.
11 e estejam prontos para o terceiro dia, porque no terceiro dia o Senhor , à vista de todo o povo, descerá sobre o monte Sinai.
12 And thou schalt sette termes to the puple, bi cumpas; and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye war, that ye `stie not in to the hil, nether touche ye the endis therof; ech man that schal touche the hil, schal die bi deeth.
12 Marque ao redor do monte limites para o povo, dizendo: “Tomem cuidado para não subir o monte, nem tocar a sua extremidade. Todo aquele que tocar o monte será morto.
13 Hondis schulen not touche hym, but he schal be oppressid with stoonus, ethir he shall be persid with dartis; whether it schal be a beest, ethir a man, it schal not lyue; whanne a clarioun schal bigynne to sowne, thanne `stie thei in to the hil.
13 Mão nenhuma tocará nele. Se o fizer, será apedrejado ou flechado; quer seja animal, quer seja homem, não viverá. Quando soar longamente a trombeta, então subirão o monte.”
14 And Moises cam doun fro the hil to the puple, and halewide it; and whanne thei hadden waischun her clothis,
14 Moisés desceu do monte para junto do povo e consagrou o povo; e lavaram as suas roupas.
15 he seide to hem, Be ye redi in to the thridde dai, neiye ye not to youre wyues.
15 E Moisés disse ao povo: — Estejam prontos no terceiro dia. Que até lá ninguém tenha relações com a sua mulher.
16 And now the thridde day was comun, and the morewetid was cleer; and, lo! thundris bigunnen to be herd, and leitis to schyne, and a moost thicke cloude to hile the mounteyn; and `the sownyng of a clarioun made noise ful greetli, and the puple dredde, that was in the castels.
16 Ao amanhecer do terceiro dia, houve trovões e relâmpagos, uma espessa nuvem cobriu o monte, e ouviu-se um forte som de trombeta, de maneira que todo o povo que estava no arraial tremeu de medo.
17 And whanne Moises hadde led hem out in to the comyng of God, fro the place of castels, thei stoden at the rootis of the hil.
17 E Moisés levou o povo para fora do arraial ao encontro de Deus; e puseram-se ao pé do monte.
18 Forsothe al the hil of Synai smokide, for the Lord hadde come doun theronne in fier; and smoke stiede therof as of a furneis, and al the hil was ferdful;
18 Todo o monte Sinai fumegava, porque o Senhor havia descido sobre ele em fogo. A fumaça subia como fumaça de uma fornalha, e todo o monte tremia com violência.
19 and the `sown of a clarioun encreesside litil and litil, and was holdun forth lengere. Moises spak, and the Lord answeride to hym,
19 E o som da trombeta ia aumentando cada vez mais. Moisés falava, e Deus lhe respondia no trovão.
20 and the Lord cam doun on the hil of Synay, in thilke cop of the hil, and clepide Moises to the cop therof. And whanne he hadde stied thidur,
20 O Senhor desceu sobre o monte Sinai, sobre o alto do monte. O Senhor chamou Moisés para o alto do monte e Moisés foi até lá.
21 the Lord seide to hym, Go thou doun, and witnesse thou to the puple, lest perauenture it wole passe the termes to se the Lord, and ful greet multitude therof perische;
21 E o Senhor disse a Moisés: — Desça e avise ao povo que não ultrapasse o limite até o
22 also preestis, that neiyen to the Lord, be halewid, lest Y smyte hem.
22 Também os sacerdotes, que se aproximam do Senhor , devem se consagrar, para que o Senhor não se volte contra eles.
23 And Moises seide to the Lord, The comyn puple may not stie in to the hil of Synai; for thou hast witnessid, and hast comaundid, seiyinge, Sette thou termes aboute the hil, and halewe it.
23 Então Moisés disse ao Senhor : — O povo não poderá subir o monte Sinai, porque tu nos advertiste, dizendo: “Marque limites ao redor do monte e consagre-o.”
24 To whom the Lord seide, Go thou doun, and thou schalt stie, and Aaron with thee; forsothe the preestis and the puple passe not the termes, nethir stie thei to the Lord, lest perauenture he sle hem.
24 E o Senhor respondeu: — Vá, desça; depois você subirá, e Arão virá com você; porém os sacerdotes e o povo não devem ultrapassar o limite para subir ao
25 Moises yede doun to the puple, and telde alle thingis to hem.
25 Então Moisés desceu ao povo e lhe disse tudo isso.
