1 In the thridde monethe of the goyng `of Israel out of the lond of Egipt, in this dai thei camen in to the wildirnesse of Synai;
1 No terceiro mês depois que os filhos de Israel haviam saído da terra do Egito, no mesmo dia chegaram ao deserto de Sinai.
2 for thei yeden forth fro Rafidym, and camen til in to deseert of Synai, and settiden tentis in the same place; and there Israel settide tentis, euen ayens the hil.
2 Tendo partido de Refidim, entraram no deserto de Sinai, onde se acamparam; Israel, pois, ali acampou-se em frente do monte.
3 Forsothe Moises stiede in to the hil to God; and the Lord clepide hym fro the mount, and seide, Thou schalt seie these thingis to the hows of Jacob, and thou schalt telle to the sones of Israel,
3 Então subiu Moisés a Deus, e do monte o Senhor o chamou, dizendo: Assim falarás à casa de Jacó, e anunciarás aos filhos de Israel:
4 Ye silf han seyn what thingis Y haue do to Egipcians, how Y bar you on the wengis of eglis, and took to me.
4 Vós tendes visto o que fiz: aos egípcios, como vos levei sobre asas de águias, e vos trouxe a mim.
5 Therfor if ye schulen here my vois, and schulen kepe my couenaunt, ye schulen be to me in to a specialte of alle puplis; for al the lond is myn;
5 Agora, pois, se atentamente ouvirdes a minha voz e guardardes o meu pacto, então sereis a minha possessão peculiar dentre todos os povos, porque minha é toda a terra;
6 and ye schulen be to me in to a rewme of preesthod, and `ye schulen be an hooli folk; these ben the wordis whiche thou schalt speke to the sones of Israel.
6 e vós sereis para mim reino sacerdotal e nação santa. São estas as palavras que falarás aos filhos de Israel.
7 Moyses cam, and whanne the gretter men in birthe of the puple weren clepid to gidere, he expownede alle the wordis whiche the Lord comaundide.
7 Veio, pois, Moisés e, tendo convocado os anciãos do povo, expôs diante deles todas estas palavras, que o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.
8 And alle the puple answeride to gidere, We schulen do alle thingis whiche the Lord spak. And whanne Moises hadde teld the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
8 Ao que todo o povo respondeu a uma voz: Tudo o que o Senhor tem falado, faremos. E relatou Moisés ao Senhor as palavras do povo.
9 the Lord seide to hym, Riyt now Y schal come to thee in a derknesse of a cloude, that the puple here me spekynge to thee, and bileue to thee withouten ende. Therfor Moises telde the wordis of the puple to the Lord,
9 Então disse o Senhor a Moisés: Eis que eu virei a ti em uma nuvem espessa, para que o povo ouça, quando eu falar contigo, e também para que sempre te creia. Porque Moisés tinha anunciado as palavras do seu povo ao Senhor.
10 which seide to Moises, Go thou to the puple, and make hem holi to dai and to morewe, and waische thei her clothis,
10 Disse mais o Senhor a Moisés: Vai ao povo, e santifica-os hoje e amanhã; lavem eles os seus vestidos,
11 and be thei redi in to the thridde dai; for in the thridde dai the Lord schal come doun bifore al the puple on the hil of Synai.
11 e estejam prontos para o terceiro dia; porquanto no terceiro dia descerá o Senhor diante dos olhos de todo o povo sobre o monte Sinai.
12 And thou schalt sette termes to the puple, bi cumpas; and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye war, that ye `stie not in to the hil, nether touche ye the endis therof; ech man that schal touche the hil, schal die bi deeth.
12 Também marcarás limites ao povo em redor, dizendo: Guardai-vos, não subais ao monte, nem toqueis o seu termo; todo aquele que tocar o monte será morto.
13 Hondis schulen not touche hym, but he schal be oppressid with stoonus, ethir he shall be persid with dartis; whether it schal be a beest, ethir a man, it schal not lyue; whanne a clarioun schal bigynne to sowne, thanne `stie thei in to the hil.
13 Mão alguma tocará naquele que o fizer, mas ele será apedrejado ou asseteado; quer seja animal, quer seja homem, não viverá. Quando soar a buzina longamente, subirão eles até o pé do monte.
14 And Moises cam doun fro the hil to the puple, and halewide it; and whanne thei hadden waischun her clothis,
14 Então Moisés desceu do monte ao povo, e santificou o povo; e lavaram os seus vestidos.
15 he seide to hem, Be ye redi in to the thridde dai, neiye ye not to youre wyues.
15 E disse ele ao povo: Estai prontos para o terceiro dia; e não vos chegueis a mulher.
16 And now the thridde day was comun, and the morewetid was cleer; and, lo! thundris bigunnen to be herd, and leitis to schyne, and a moost thicke cloude to hile the mounteyn; and `the sownyng of a clarioun made noise ful greetli, and the puple dredde, that was in the castels.
16 Ao terceiro dia, ao amanhecer, houve trovões, relâmpagos, e uma nuvem espessa sobre o monte; e ouviu-se um sonido de buzina mui forte, de maneira que todo o povo que estava no arraial estremeceu.
17 And whanne Moises hadde led hem out in to the comyng of God, fro the place of castels, thei stoden at the rootis of the hil.
17 E Moisés levou o povo fora do arraial ao encontro de Deus; e puseram-se ao pé do monte.
18 Forsothe al the hil of Synai smokide, for the Lord hadde come doun theronne in fier; and smoke stiede therof as of a furneis, and al the hil was ferdful;
18 Nisso todo o monte Sinai fumegava, porque o Senhor descera sobre ele em fogo; e a fumaça subiu como a fumaça de uma fornalha, e todo o monte tremia fortemente.
19 and the `sown of a clarioun encreesside litil and litil, and was holdun forth lengere. Moises spak, and the Lord answeride to hym,
19 E, crescendo o sonido da buzina cada vez mais, Moisés falava, e Deus lhe respondia por uma voz.
20 and the Lord cam doun on the hil of Synay, in thilke cop of the hil, and clepide Moises to the cop therof. And whanne he hadde stied thidur,
20 E, tendo o Senhor descido sobre o monte Sinai, sobre o cume do monte, chamou a Moisés ao cume do monte; e Moisés subiu.
21 the Lord seide to hym, Go thou doun, and witnesse thou to the puple, lest perauenture it wole passe the termes to se the Lord, and ful greet multitude therof perische;
21 Então disse o Senhor a Moisés: Desce, adverte ao povo, para não suceder que traspasse os limites até o Senhor, a fim de ver, e muitos deles pereçam.
22 also preestis, that neiyen to the Lord, be halewid, lest Y smyte hem.
22 Ora, santifiquem-se também os sacerdotes, que se chegam ao Senhor, para que o Senhor não se lance sobre eles.
23 And Moises seide to the Lord, The comyn puple may not stie in to the hil of Synai; for thou hast witnessid, and hast comaundid, seiyinge, Sette thou termes aboute the hil, and halewe it.
23 Respondeu Moisés ao Senhor: O povo não poderá subir ao monte Sinai, porque tu nos tens advertido, dizendo: Marca limites ao redor do monte, e santifica-o.
24 To whom the Lord seide, Go thou doun, and thou schalt stie, and Aaron with thee; forsothe the preestis and the puple passe not the termes, nethir stie thei to the Lord, lest perauenture he sle hem.
24 Ao que lhe disse o Senhor: Vai, desce; depois subirás tu, e Arão contigo; os sacerdotes, porém, e o povo não traspassem os limites para subir ao Senhor, para que ele não se lance sobre eles.
25 Moises yede doun to the puple, and telde alle thingis to hem.
25 Então Moisés desceu ao povo, e disse-lhes isso.
