1 But Y wole that ye wite, what bisynesse Y haue for you, and for hem that ben at Laodice, and whiche euere saien not my face in fleisch,
1 Porque quero que saibais quão grande luta tenho por vós, e pelos que estão em Laodiceia, e por quantos não viram o meu rosto em carne;
2 that her hertis ben coumfortid, and thei ben tauyt in charite, in to alle the richessis of the plente of the vndurstondyng, in to the knowyng of mysterie of God, the fadir of Jhesu Crist,
2 Que seus corações sejam confortados, e estejam unidos no amor, e para todas as riquezas da plena certeza de entendimento, para o reconhecimento do mistério de Deus, e do Pai, e de Cristo.
3 in whom alle the tresouris of wisdom and of science ben hid.
3 Em quem estão escondidos todos os tesouros da sabedoria e do conhecimento.
4 For this thing Y seie, that no man disseyue you in heiythe of wordis.
4 E isto eu digo para que ninguém vos engane com palavras persuasivas.
5 For thouy Y be absent in bodi, bi spirit Y am with you, ioiynge and seynge youre ordre and the sadnesse of youre bileue that is in Crist.
5 Porque ainda que esteja ausente quanto ao corpo, ainda estou convosco em espírito, regozijando-me e vendo a vossa ordem e a firmeza da vossa fé em Cristo.
6 Therfor as ye han takun Jhesu Crist oure Lord,
6 Como, portanto, recebestes o Senhor Jesus Cristo, assim andai nele,
7 walke ye in hym, and be ye rootid and bieldid aboue in hym, and confermyd in the bileue, as ye han lerud, aboundinge in hym in doynge of thankyngis.
7 enraizado e edificado nele, e estabelecido na fé, assim como fostes ensinados, abundando nela com ação de graças.
8 Se ye that no man disseyue you bi filosofie and veyn fallace, aftir the tradicioun of men, aftir the elementis of the world, and not aftir Crist.
8 Tende cuidado para que nenhum homem vos deteriore pela filosofia e vaidade, segundo a tradição dos homens, segundo os rudimentos do mundo e não segundo Cristo;
9 For in hym dwellith bodilich al the fulnesse of the Godhed.
9 porque nele habita corporalmente toda a plenitude da divindade.
10 And ye ben fillid in hym, that is heed of al principat and power.
10 E estais completos nele, que é a cabeça de todo principado e poder;
11 In whom also ye ben circumcidid in circumcisioun not maad with hoond, in dispoyling of the bodi of fleisch, but in circumcisioun of Crist;
11 nele também fostes circuncidados com uma circuncisão não feita por mão no despojo do corpo dos pecados da carne, mediante a circuncisão de Cristo.
12 and ye ben biried togidere with hym in baptim, in whom also ye han rise ayen bi feith of the worching of God, that reiside hym fro deth.
12 Sepultados com ele no batismo, onde também ressuscitastes com ele pela fé na operação de Deus, quem o ressuscitou dos mortos.
13 And whanne ye weren deed in giltis, and in the prepucie of youre fleisch, he quikenyde togidere you with hym;
13 E, quando vós estáveis mortos nos vossos pecados e na incircuncisão da vossa carne, vos vivificou juntamente com ele, perdoando-vos todas as ofensas,
14 foryyuynge to you alle giltis, doynge awei that writing of decre that was ayens vs, that was contrarie to vs; and he took awei that fro the myddil, pitchinge it on the cros;
14 apagando a escrita de ordenanças que era contra nós, a qual nos era contrária, e tirou-a do meio de nós, cravando-a na sua cruz.
15 and he spuylide principatis and poweris, and ledde out tristili, opynli ouercomynge hem in hym silf.
15 E, despojando os principados e potestades, os expôs abertamente, triunfando sobre eles em si mesmo.
16 Therfor no man iuge you in mete, or in drink, or in part of feeste dai, or of neomenye,
16 Portanto, nenhum homem vos julgue pelo alimento, ou pela bebida, ou por causa dos dias de festa, ou da lua nova, ou dos shabats;
17 or of sabatis, whiche ben schadewe of thingis to comynge; for the bodi is of Crist.
17 que são sombras das coisas futuras, mas o corpo é de Cristo.
18 No man disseyue you, willynge to teche in mekenesse, and religioun of aungelis, tho thingis whiche he hath not seyn, walkinge veynli, bolnyd with wit of his fleisch,
18 Que nenhum homem vos engane de vossa recompensa com uma falsa humildade e adoração de anjos, intrometendo-se em coisas que ele não viu, em vão inflado por sua mente carnal.
19 and not holdynge the heed, of which al the bodi, bi boondis and ioynyngis togidere vndur mynystrid and maad, wexith in to encreessing of God.
19 E não ligado à cabeça, da qual todo o corpo, tendo alimento ministrado, e unido pelas juntas e ligaduras, cresce em aumento de Deus.
20 For if ye ben deed with Crist fro the elementis of this world, what yit as men lyuynge to the world demen ye?
20 Se, pois, estais mortos com Cristo quanto aos rudimentos do mundo, por que, como se vivêsseis no mundo, vos sujeitais às ordenanças,
21 That ye touche not, nether taaste,
21 (não toques, não proves, não manuseies;
22 nether trete with hoondis tho thingis, whiche alle ben in to deth bi the ilke vss, aftir the comaundementis and the techingis of men;
22 as quais coisas todas perecem pelo uso), segundo os mandamentos e doutrinas dos homens?
23 whiche han a resoun of wisdom in veyn religioun and mekenesse, and not to spare the bodi, not in ony onour to the fulfillyng of the fleisch.
23 Que tais coisas, de fato, mostram uma sabedoria na adoração, humildade e em disciplina do corpo, mas não são de honra alguma, senão para a satisfação da carne.
