1 »To the minister of the Church in Ephesus write as follows:« `This is what He who holds the seven stars in the grasp of His right hand says–He who walks to and fro among the seven lampstands of gold.
1 Escreve ao anjo da igreja de Éfeso: Isto diz aquele que tem na sua destra as sete estrelas, que anda no meio dos sete castiçais de ouro:
2 I know your doings and your toil and patient suffering. And I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, but have put to the test those who say that they themselves are Apostles but are not, and you have found them to be liars.
2 Conheço as tuas obras, e o teu trabalho, e a tua paciência, e que não podes sofrer os maus; e puseste à prova os que dizem ser apóstolos, e o não são, e tu os achaste mentirosos.
3 And you endure patiently and have borne burdens for My sake and have never grown weary.
3 E sofreste, e tens paciência; e trabalhaste pelo meu nome, e não te cansaste.
4 Yet I have this against you–that you no longer love Me as you did at first.
4 Tenho, porém, contra ti que deixaste o teu primeiro amor.
5 Be mindful, therefore, of the height from which you have fallen. Repent at once, and act as you did at first, or else I will surely come and remove your lampstand out of its place–unless you repent.
5 Lembra-te, pois, de onde caíste, e arrepende-te, e pratica as primeiras obras; quando não, brevemente a ti virei, e tirarei do seu lugar o teu castiçal, se não te arrependeres.
6 Yet this you have in your favor: you hate the doings of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
6 Tens, porém, isto: que odeias as obras dos nicolaítas, as quais eu também odeio.
7 »`Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give the privilege of eating the fruit of the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of God.'«
7 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas: Ao que vencer, dar-lhe-ei a comer da árvore da vida, que está no meio do paraíso de Deus.
8 »To the minister of the Church at Smyrna write as follows:« `This is what the First and the Last says–He who died and has returned to life.
8 E ao anjo da igreja em Esmirna, escreve: Isto diz o primeiro e o último, que foi morto, e reviveu:
9 Your sufferings I know, and your poverty –but you are rich– and the evil name given you by those who say that they themselves are Jews, and are not, but are Satan's synagogue.
9 Conheço as tuas obras, e tribulação, e pobreza (mas tu és rico), e a blasfêmia dos que se dizem judeus, e não o são, mas são a sinagoga de Satanás.
10 Dismiss your fears concerning all that you are about to suffer. I tell you that the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be put to the test, and for ten days you will have to endure persecution. Be faithful to the End, even if you have to die, and then I will give you the victor's Wreath of Life.
10 Nada temas das coisas que hás de padecer. Eis que o diabo lançará alguns de vós na prisão, para que sejais tentados; e tereis uma tribulação de dez dias. Sê fiel até à morte, e dar-te-ei a coroa da vida.
11 »`Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. He who overcomes shall be in no way hurt by the Second Death.'«
11 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas: O que vencer não receberá o dano da segunda morte.
12 »To the minister of the Church at Pergamum write as follows:« `This is what He who has the sharp, two-edged sword says. I know where you dwell.
12 E ao anjo da igreja que está em Pérgamo escreve: Isto diz aquele que tem a espada aguda de dois fios:
13 Satan's throne is there; and yet you are true to Me, and did not deny your faith in Me, even in the days of Antipas My witness and faithful friend, who was put to death among you, in the place where Satan dwells.
13 Conheço as tuas obras, e onde habitas, que é onde está o trono de Satanás; e reténs o meu nome, e não negaste a minha fé, ainda nos dias de Antipas, minha fiel testemunha, o qual foi morto entre vós, onde Satanás habita.
14 Yet I have a few things against you, because you have with you some that cling to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling-block in the way of the descendants of Israel–to eat what had been sacrificed to idols, and commit fornication.
14 Mas algumas poucas coisas tenho contra ti, porque tens lá os que seguem a doutrina de Balaão, o qual ensinava Balaque a lançar tropeços diante dos filhos de Israel, para que comessem dos sacrifícios da idolatria, e fornicassem.
15 So even you have some that cling in the same way to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
15 Assim tens também os que seguem a doutrina dos nicolaítas, o que eu odeio.
16 Repent, at once; or else I will come to you quickly, and will make war upon them with the sword which is in My mouth.
16 Arrepende-te, pois, quando não em breve virei a ti, e contra eles batalharei com a espada da minha boca.
17 »`Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. He who overcomes –to him I will give some of the hidden Manna, and a white stone; and– written upon the stone and known only to him who receives it– a new name.'«
17 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas: Ao que vencer darei eu a comer do maná escondido, e dar-lhe-ei uma pedra branca, e na pedra um novo nome escrito, o qual ninguém conhece senão aquele que o recebe.
18 »To the minister of the Church at Thyateira write as follows:« `This is what the Son of God says–He who has eyes like a flame of fire, and feet resembling silver-bronze.
18 E ao anjo da igreja de Tiatira escreve: Isto diz o Filho de Deus, que tem seus olhos como chama de fogo, e os pés semelhantes ao latão reluzente:
19 I know your doings, your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance; and that of late you have toiled harder than you did at first.
19 Eu conheço as tuas obras, e o teu amor, e o teu serviço, e a tua fé, e a tua paciência, e que as tuas últimas obras são mais do que as primeiras.
20 Yet I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and by her teaching leads astray My servants, so that they commit fornication and eat what has been sacrificed to idols.
20 Mas algumas poucas coisas tenho contra ti que deixas Jezabel, mulher que se diz profetisa, ensinar e enganar os meus servos, para que forniquem e comam dos sacrifícios da idolatria.
21 I have given her time to repent, but she is determined not to repent of her fornication.
21 E dei-lhe tempo para que se arrependesse da sua fornicação; e não se arrependeu.
22 I tell you that I am about to cast her upon a bed of sickness, and I will severely afflict those who commit adultery with her, unless they repent of conduct such as hers.
22 Eis que a porei numa cama, e sobre os que adulteram com ela virá grande tribulação, se não se arrependerem das suas obras.
23 Her children too shall surely die; and all the Churches shall come to know that I am He who searches into men's inmost thoughts; and to each of you I will give a requital which shall be in accordance with what your conduct has been.
23 E ferirei de morte a seus filhos, e todas as igrejas saberão que eu sou aquele que sonda os rins e os corações. E darei a cada um de vós segundo as vossas obras.
24 But to you, the rest of you in Thyateira, all who do not hold this teaching and are not the people who have learnt the »deep things,« as they call them (the deep things of Satan!) –to you I say that I lay no other burden on you.
24 Mas eu vos digo a vós, e aos restantes que estão em Tiatira, a todos quantos não têm esta doutrina, e não conheceram, como dizem, as profundezas de Satanás, que outra carga vos não porei.
25 Only that which you already possess, cling to until I come.
25 Mas o que tendes, retende-o até que eu venha.
26 »`And to him who overcomes and obeys My commands to the very end, I will give authority over the nations of the earth.
26 E ao que vencer, e guardar até ao fim as minhas obras, eu lhe darei poder sobre as nações,
27 And he shall be their shepherd, ruling them with a rod of iron, just as earthenware jars are broken to pieces; and his power over them shall be like that which I Myself have received from My Father;«
27 E com vara de ferro as regerá; e serão quebradas como vasos de oleiro; como também recebi de meu Pai.
28 and I will give him the Morning Star.
28 E dar-lhe-ei a estrela da manhã.
29 Let all who have ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches.'
29 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.
