1 Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say:
1 Canção gradual. Muitas vezes me afligiram desde a minha juventude, agora Israel pode dizer:
2 many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.
2 Muitas vezes me afligiram desde a minha juventude; ainda assim, eles não prevaleceram contra mim.
3 The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.
3 Os lavradores araram sobre as minhas costas; fizeram longos os seus sulcos.
4 Yahweh is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
4 O SENHOR é justo; cortou em pedaços as cordas dos perversos.
5 Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.
5 Sejam todos eles confundidos e virados para trás, aqueles que odeiam Sião.
6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
6 Sejam como a grama sobre os telhados que se seca antes de crescer.
7 with which the reaper doesn’t fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
7 Com a qual o segador não enche a sua mão, nem aquele que amarra os feixes o seu peito.
8 Neither do those who go by say, “The blessing of Yahweh be on you. We bless you in Yahweh’s name.”
8 Nem aqueles que passam dizem: A bênção do SENHOR esteja sobre vós; nós vos abençoamos em nome do SENHOR.
