1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
1 No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario veio a palavra do SENHOR ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
2 Yahweh was very displeased with your{+} fathers.
2 O Senhor se irou fortemente contra vossos pais.
3 Therefore you say to them, Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Return to me, says Yahweh of hosts, and I will return to you{+}, says Yahweh of hosts.
3 Portanto dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tornai-vos para mim, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e eu me tornarei para vós, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
4 Don't be{+} as your{+} fathers, to whom the former prophets cried, saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts, Return{+} now from your{+} evil ways, and from your{+} evil doings: but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says Yahweh.
4 E não sejais como vossos pais, aos quais clamavam os primeiros profetas, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Convertei-vos agora dos vossos maus caminhos e das vossas más obras; mas não ouviram, nem me escutaram, diz o Senhor.
5 Your{+} fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
5 Vossos pais, onde estão? E os profetas, viverão eles para sempre?
6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my slaves the prophets, did they not overtake your{+} fathers? And they turned and said, Like Yahweh of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us.
6 Contudo as minhas palavras e os meus estatutos, que eu ordenei aos profetas, meus servos, não alcançaram a vossos pais? E eles voltaram, e disseram: Assim como o Senhor dos Exércitos fez tenção de nos tratar, segundo os nossos caminhos, e segundo as nossas obras, assim ele nos tratou.
7 On the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
7 Aos vinte e quatro dias do mês undécimo (que é o mês de Sebate), no segundo ano de Dario, veio a palavra do Senhor ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
8 I saw in the night, and, look, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle-trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were horses, red, sorrel, and white.
8 Olhei de noite, e vi um homem montado num cavalo vermelho; e ele estava parado entre as murtas que estavam na baixada; e atrás dele estavam cavalos vermelhos, malhados e brancos.
9 Then I said, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said to me, I will show you what these are.
9 E eu disse: Senhor meu, quem são estes? E disse-me o anjo que falava comigo: Eu te mostrarei quem são estes.
10 And the man who stood among the myrtle-trees answered and said, These are those whom Yahweh has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
10 Então respondeu o homem que estava entre as murtas, e disse: Estes são os que o Senhor tem enviado para percorrerem a terra.
11 And they answered the angel of Yahweh who stood among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, look, all the earth sits still, and is at rest.
11 E eles responderam ao anjo do Senhor, que estava entre as murtas, e disseram: Nós já percorremos a terra, e eis que toda a terra está tranqüila e quieta.
12 Then the angel of Yahweh answered and said, O Yahweh of hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?
12 Então o anjo do Senhor respondeu, e disse: Ó Senhor dos Exércitos, até quando não terás compaixão de Jerusalém, e das cidades de Judá, contra as quais estiveste irado estes setenta anos?
13 And Yahweh answered the angel that talked with me with good words, [even] comfortable words.
13 E respondeu o Senhor ao anjo, que falava comigo, com palavras boas, palavras consoladoras.
14 So the angel that talked with me said to me, Cry out, saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
14 E o anjo que falava comigo disse-me: Clama, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Com grande zelo estou zelando por Jerusalém e por Sião.
15 And I am very intensely displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
15 E com grande indignação estou irado contra os gentios em descanso; porque eu estava pouco indignado, mas eles agravaram o mal.
16 Therefore thus says Yahweh: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house will be built in it, says Yahweh of hosts, and a line will be stretched forth over Jerusalem.
16 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor: Voltei-me para Jerusalém com misericórdia; nela será edificada a minha casa, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e o cordel será estendido sobre Jerusalém:
17 Cry out yet again, saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts: My cities will yet overflow with prosperity; and Yahweh will yet comfort Zion, and will yet choose Jerusalem.
17 Clama outra vez, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: As minhas cidades ainda aumentarão e prosperarão; porque o Senhor ainda consolará a Sião e ainda escolherá a Jerusalém.
18 And I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and saw four horns.
18 E levantei os meus olhos, e vi, e eis quatro chifres.
19 And I said to the angel that talked with me, What are these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
19 E eu disse ao anjo que falava comigo: Que são estes? E ele me disse: Estes são os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, a Israel e a Jerusalém.
20 And Yahweh showed me four blacksmiths.
20 E o Senhor me mostrou quatro carpinteiros.
21 Then I said, What do these come to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.
21 Então eu disse: Que vêm estes fazer? E ele falou, dizendo: Estes são os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, de maneira que ninguém pôde levantar a sua cabeça; estes, pois, vieram para os amedrontarem, para derrubarem os chifres dos gentios que levantaram o seu poder contra a terra de Judá, para a espalharem.
