1 For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of David. O Yahweh, our Lord, How excellent is your name in all the earth, Who has set your glory on the heavens!
1 Ó Senhor , Senhor nosso, como é magnífico o teu nome em toda a terra! Pois puseste nos céus a tua majestade.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have established strength, Because of your adversaries, That you might still the enemy and the avenger.
2 Da boca de pequeninos e crianças de peito suscitaste força, por causa dos teus adversários, para fazeres emudecer o inimigo e o vingador.
3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, The moon and the stars, which you have appointed;
3 Quando contemplo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, e a lua e as estrelas que estabeleceste,
4 What is common man, that you are mindful of him? And the son of man, that you visit him?
4 que é o homem, para que dele te lembres? E o filho do homem, para que o visites?
5 For you have made him but little lower than God, And crown him with glory and honor.
5 Fizeste-o, no entanto, por um pouco, menor do que Deus e de glória e de honra o coroaste.
6 You make him to have dominion over the works of your hands; You have put all things under his feet:
6 Deste-lhe domínio sobre as obras da tua mão e sob seus pés tudo lhe puseste:
7 All sheep and oxen, Yes, and the beasts of the field,
7 ovelhas e bois, todos, e também os animais do campo;
8 The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
8 as aves do céu, os peixes do mar e tudo o que percorre as veredas dos mares.
9 O Yahweh, our Lord, How excellent is your name in all the earth!
9 Ó Senhor , Senhor nosso, como é magnífico o teu nome em toda a terra!
