Salmos 127

1 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon. If Yahweh does not build the house, They labor in vain that build it: If Yahweh does not keep the city, The watchman wakes but in vain.
1 Se o Senhor Deus não edificar a casa, não adianta nada trabalhar para construí-la. Se o não adianta nada os guardas ficarem vigiando.
2 It is vain for you{+} to rise up early, To take rest late, To eat the bread of toil; Thus he gives to his beloved sleep.
2 Não adianta trabalhar demais para ganhar o pão, levantando cedo e deitando tarde, pois é Deus quem dá o sustento aos que ele ama, mesmo quando estão dormindo.
3 Look, sons are a heritage of Yahweh; [And] the fruit of the womb is [his] reward.
3 Os filhos são um presente do Senhor ; eles são uma verdadeira bênção.
4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the sons of youth.
4 Os filhos que o homem tem na sua mocidade são como flechas nas mãos de um soldado.
5 Happy is the [noble] man who has his quiver full of them: They will not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
5 Feliz o homem que tem muitas dessas flechas! Ele não será derrotado quando enfrentar os seus inimigos no tribunal.
