¹ A Psalm of David. I will sing of loving-kindness and justice: To you, O Yahweh, I will sing praises.

¹ Salmo de Davi. Cantarei a bondade e a justiça. A vós, Senhor, salmodiarei.

² I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way: Oh when will you come to me? I will walk inside my house with a perfect heart.

² Pelo caminho reto quero seguir. Oh, quando vireis a mim? Caminharei na inocência de coração, no seio de minha família.

³ I will set no base thing before my eyes: I hate the work of those who turn aside; It will not stick to me.

³ Não proporei ante meus olhos nenhum pensamento culpável. Terei horror àquele que pratica o mal, não será ele meu amigo.

⁴ A perverse heart will depart from me: I will know no evil thing.

⁴ Estará sempre longe de mim o coração perverso, não quero conhecer o mal.

⁵ Whoever secretly slanders his fellow man, I will destroy him: I will not allow him who has a high look and a proud heart.

⁵ Exterminarei o que em segredo caluniar seu próximo. Não suportarei homem arrogante e de coração vaidoso.

⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: He who walks in a perfect way, he will minister to me.

⁶ Meus olhos se voltarão para os fiéis da terra, para fazê-los habitar comigo. Será meu servo o homem que segue o caminho reto.

⁷ He who works deceit will not dwell inside my house: He who speaks falsehood will not be established before my eyes.

⁷ O fraudulento não há de morar jamais em minha casa. Não subsistirá o mentiroso ante meus olhos.

⁸ Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land; To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Yahweh.

⁸ Todos os dias extirparei da terra os ímpios, banindo da cidade do Senhor os que praticam o mal.
