¹ A Psalm of David. I will sing of loving-kindness and justice: To you, O Yahweh, I will sing praises.

¹ Cantarei a bondade e a justiça; a ti,

² I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way: Oh when will you come to me? I will walk inside my house with a perfect heart.

² Atentarei sabiamente ao caminho da perfeição. Oh! Quando virás ter comigo? Portas a dentro, em minha casa, terei coração sincero.

³ I will set no base thing before my eyes: I hate the work of those who turn aside; It will not stick to me.

³ Não porei coisa injusta diante dos meus olhos; aborreço o proceder dos que se desviam; nada disto se me pegará.

⁴ A perverse heart will depart from me: I will know no evil thing.

⁴ Longe de mim o coração perverso; não quero conhecer o mal.

⁵ Whoever secretly slanders his fellow man, I will destroy him: I will not allow him who has a high look and a proud heart.

⁵ Ao que às ocultas calunia o próximo, a esse destruirei; o que tem olhar altivo e coração soberbo, não o suportarei.

⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: He who walks in a perfect way, he will minister to me.

⁶ Os meus olhos procurarão os fiéis da terra, para que habitem comigo; o que anda em reto caminho, esse me servirá.

⁷ He who works deceit will not dwell inside my house: He who speaks falsehood will not be established before my eyes.

⁷ Não há de ficar em minha casa o que usa de fraude; o que profere mentiras não permanecerá ante os meus olhos.

⁸ Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land; To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Yahweh.

⁸ Manhã após manhã, destruirei todos os ímpios da terra, para limpar a cidade do dos que praticam a iniquidade.
