Jeremias 16

1 The word of Yahweh came also to me, saying,
1 E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:
2 You will not take for yourself a wife, neither will you have sons or daughters, in this place.
2 Não tomarás para ti mulher, nem terás filhos nem filhas neste lugar.
3 For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who begot them in this land:
3 Porque assim diz o Senhor, acerca dos filhos e das filhas que nascerem neste lugar, acerca de suas mães, que os tiverem, e de seus pais que os gerarem nesta terra:
4 They will die grievous deaths: they will not be lamented, neither will they be buried; they will be as dung on the face of the ground; and they will be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth.
4 Morrerão de enfermidades dolorosas, e não serão pranteados nem sepultados; servirão de esterco sobre a face da terra; e pela espada e pela fome serão consumidos, e os seus cadáveres servirão de mantimento para as aves do céu e para os animais da terra.
5 For thus says Yahweh, Don't enter into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, says Yahweh, even loving-kindness and tender mercies.
5 Porque assim diz o Senhor: Não entres na casa do luto, nem vás a lamentar, nem te compadeças deles; porque deste povo, diz o Senhor, retirei a minha paz, benignidade e misericórdia.
6 Both great and small will die in this land; they will not be buried, neither will men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them;
6 E morrerão grandes e pequenos nesta terra, e não serão sepultados, e não os prantearão, nem se farão por eles incisões, nem por eles se raparão os cabelos.
7 neither will men break bread for the mourner, to comfort them for the dead; neither will men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
7 E não se partirá pão para consolá-los por causa de seus mortos; nem lhes darão a beber do copo de consolação, pelo pai ou pela mãe de alguém.
8 And you will not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.
8 Nem entres na casa do banquete, para te assentares com eles a comer e a beber.
9 For thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: Look, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your{+} eyes and in your{+} days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
9 Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que farei cessar, neste lugar, perante os vossos olhos, e em vossos dias, a voz de gozo e a voz de alegria, a voz do esposo e a voz da esposa.
10 And it will come to pass, when you will show this people all these words, and they will say to you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God?
10 E será que, quando anunciares a este povo todas estas palavras, e eles te disserem: Por que pronuncia o Senhor sobre nós todo este grande mal? E qual é a nossa iniqüidade, e qual é o nosso pecado, que cometemos contra o Senhor nosso Deus?
11 Then you will say to them, Because your{+} fathers have forsaken me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and haven't kept my law;
11 Então lhes dirás: Porquanto vossos pais me deixaram, diz o Senhor, e se foram após outros deuses, e os serviram, e se inclinaram diante deles, e a mim me deixaram, e a minha lei não a guardaram.
12 and you{+} have done evil more than your{+} fathers; for, look, you{+} walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you{+} don't listen to me:
12 E vós fizestes pior do que vossos pais; porque, eis que cada um de vós anda segundo o propósito do seu mau coração, para não me dar ouvidos a mim.
13 therefore I will cast you{+} forth out of this land into the land that you{+} haven't known, neither you{+} nor your{+} fathers; and there you{+} will serve other gods day and night; for I will show you{+} no favor.
13 Portanto lançar-vos-ei fora desta terra, para uma terra que não conhecestes, nem vós nem vossos pais; e ali servireis a deuses alheios de dia e de noite, porque não usarei de misericórdia convosco.
14 Therefore, look, the days come, says Yahweh, that it will no more be said, As Yahweh lives, that brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
14 Portanto, eis que dias vêm, diz o Senhor, em que nunca mais se dirá: Vive o Senhor, que fez subir os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito.
15 but, As Yahweh lives, that brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them. And I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
15 Mas: Vive o Senhor, que fez subir os filhos de Israel da terra do norte, e de todas as terras para onde os tinha lançado; porque eu os farei voltar à sua terra, a qual dei a seus pais.
16 Look, I will send for many fishers, says Yahweh, and they will fish them up; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
16 Eis que mandarei muitos pescadores, diz o Senhor, os quais os pescarão; e depois enviarei muitos caçadores, os quais os caçarão de sobre todo o monte, e de sobre todo o outeiro, e até das fendas das rochas.
17 For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.
17 Porque os meus olhos estão sobre todos os seus caminhos; não se escondem da minha face, nem a sua maldade se encobre aos meus olhos.
18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their disgusting things.
18 E primeiramente pagarei em dobro a sua maldade e o seu pecado, porque profanaram a minha terra com os cadáveres das suas coisas detestáveis, e das suas abominações encheram a minha herança.
19 O Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you will the nations come from the ends of the earth, and will say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, [even] vanity and things in which there is no profit.
19 Ó Senhor, fortaleza minha, e força minha, e refúgio meu no dia da angústia; a ti virão os gentios desde os fins da terra, e dirão: Nossos pais herdaram só mentiras, e vaidade, em que não havia proveito.
20 Will man make to himself gods, which yet are no gods?
20 Porventura fará um homem deuses para si, que contudo não são deuses?
21 Therefore, look, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might; and they will know that my name is Yahweh.
21 Portanto, eis que lhes farei conhecer, desta vez lhes farei conhecer a minha mão e o meu poder; e saberão que o meu nome é o Senhor.
