1 And Joseph fell on his father's face, and wept on him, and kissed him.
1 E José caiu sobre a face de seu pai, e chorou sobre ele, e o beijou.
2 And Joseph commanded his slaves the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
2 E José ordenou a seus servos, os médicos, que embalsamassem seu pai. E os médicos embalsamaram Israel.
3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of embalming: and the Egyptians wept for him 70 days.
3 E quarenta dias foram cumpridos para ele, porque assim são cumpridos os dias daqueles que são embalsamados. E os egípcios choraram por ele setenta dias.
4 And when the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph spoke to the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found favor in your{+} eyes, speak, I pray you{+}, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
4 E quando haviam passados os dias do seu luto, José falou à casa de Faraó, dizendo: Se agora eu encontrei graça aos vossos olhos, rogo-vos que faleis aos ouvidos de Faraó, dizendo:
5 My father made me swear, saying, Look, I die: in my grave which I have dug for me in the land of Canaan, there you will bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray you, and bury my father, and I will come again.
5 Meu pai me fez jurar: Eis que morrerei. No meu túmulo que eu cavei para mim na terra de Canaã, ali tu me sepultarás. Por isso, permita-me que eu suba, rogo-te, e sepulte meu pai, e retornarei.
6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury your father, according to as he made you swear.
6 E Faraó disse: Sobe, e sepulta teu pai, de acordo com o que ele te fez jurar.
7 And Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the slaves of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
7 E José subiu para sepultar seu pai, e com ele subiram todos os servos de Faraó, os anciãos de sua casa, e todos os anciãos da terra do Egito,
8 and all the house of Joseph, and his brothers, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
8 e toda a casa de José, seus irmãos, e a casa de seu pai. Somente os seus pequenos, seus rebanhos e seu gado eles deixaram na terra de Gósen.
9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
9 E subiram com ele tanto carruagens quanto cavaleiros; e era muito grande a comitiva.
10 And they came to the threshing-floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and there they lamented with a very great and intense lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
10 E eles chegaram à eira de Atade, que está além do Jordão, e ali eles choraram com grande e triste pranto, e ele pranteou por seu pai durante sete dias.
11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: therefore the name of it was called Abel-mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.
11 E quando os habitantes da terra, os cananeus, viram o pranto na eira de Atade, eles disseram: Este é um pranto gravíssimo para os egípcios, pelo que o nome foi chamado Abel-Mizraim, que está além do Jordão.
12 And his sons did to him according to as he commanded them:
12 E seus filhos lhe fizeram conforme ele lhes ordenara,
13 for his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field, for a possession of a burying-place, of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
13 pois seus filhos o levaram à terra de Canaã, e o sepultaram na caverna do campo de Macpela, que Abraão comprou com o campo para possessão de um lugar de sepultamento de Efrom, o heteu, diante de Manre.
14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brothers, and all who went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
14 E José retornou ao Egito, ele, e seus irmãos, e todos que subiram com ele para sepultar seu pai, após ele ter sepultado seu pai.
15 And when Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, It may be that Joseph will hate us, and will fully requite us all the evil which we did to him.
15 E quando os irmãos de José viram que seu pai estava morto, eles disseram: José talvez nos odeie, e certamente exigirá de nós todo mal que lhe fizemos.
16 And they told Joseph the following order, Your father commanded before he died, saying,
16 E eles enviaram um mensageiro a José dizendo: Teu pai ordenou antes de morrer, dizendo:
17 So you{+} will say to Joseph, Forgive, I pray you now, the transgression of your brothers, and their sin, because they did to you evil. And now, we pray you, forgive the transgression of the slaves of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
17 Assim direis a José: Perdoa, rogo-te agora, a transgressão de teus irmãos, e o pecado deles, pois eles te fizeram mal, e agora, rogamos-te, perdoa a transgressão dos servos do Deus de teu pai. E José chorou quando falaram com ele.
18 And his brothers also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Look, we are your slaves.
18 E seus irmãos também foram e caíram diante da face dele, e disseram: Eis que somos teus servos.
19 And Joseph said to them, Don't be afraid: for am I in the place of God?
19 E José lhes disse: Não temais, pois estaria eu no lugar de Deus?
20 And as for you{+}, you{+} meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.
20 Mas quanto a vós, intentastes o mal contra mim, mas Deus intentou para o bem, para fazer como é neste dia, para salvar muitas pessoas com vida.
21 Now therefore don't be{+} afraid: I will nourish you{+}, and your{+} little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly to them.
21 Por isso, não temais. Eu vos sustentarei, e a vossos pequenos. E ele os confortou, e falou com eles bondosamente.
22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived a hundred and ten years.
22 E José habitou no Egito, ele, e a casa de seu pai. E José viveu cento e dez anos.
23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's sons of the third generation: the sons also of Machir the son of Manasseh were born on Joseph's knees.
23 E José viu os filhos de Efraim da terceira geração. Também os filhos de Maquir, filho de Manassés, nasceram sobre os joelhos de José.
24 And Joseph said to his brothers, I die; but God will surely visit you{+}, and bring you{+} up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
24 E José disse a seus irmãos: Eu morrerei, e Deus certamente vos visitará, e vos tirará desta terra para a terra que ele jurou a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó.
25 And Joseph took an oath of the sons of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you{+}, and you{+} will carry up my bones from here.
25 E José tomou um juramento dos filhos de Israel, dizendo: Deus certamente vos visitará, e vós levareis os meus ossos daqui.
26 So Joseph died, being a hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
26 Assim José morreu, tendo cento e dez anos de idade, e eles o embalsamaram, e ele foi posto em um caixão no Egito.
