1 Wolde to god ye coulde suffre me a lytell in my folysshnes: yee and I praye you forbeare me.
1 Espero que vocês suportem um pouco da minha insensatez. Sim, por favor, sejam pacientes comigo.
2 For I am gelous over you with godly gelousy. For I coupled you to one man to make you a chaste virgen to Christ.
2 O zelo que tenho por vocês é um zelo que vem de Deus. Eu os prometi a um único marido, Cristo, querendo apresentá-los a ele como uma virgem pura.
3 But I feare lest as the serpent begyled Eve thorow his sutteltie even so youre wittes shuld be corrupte from the singlenes that is in Christ.
3 O que receio, e quero evitar, é que assim como a serpente enganou Eva com astúcia, a mente de vocês seja corrompida e se desvie da sua sincera e pura devoção a Cristo.
4 For if he that commeth preache another Iesus then hym whom we preached: or if ye receave another sprete then that which ye have receaved: other another gospell then that ye have receaved ye myght right wel have bene content.
4 Pois, se alguém lhes vem pregando um Jesus que não é aquele que pregamos, ou se vocês acolhem um espírito diferente do que acolheram ou um evangelho diferente do que aceitaram, vocês o suportam facilmente.
5 I suppose that I was not behynde ye chefe apostles.
5 Todavia, não me julgo nem um pouco inferior a esses "super-apóstolos".
6 Though I be rude in speakynge yet I am not so in knowledge. How be it amonge you we are knowen to the vtmost what we are in all thynges.
6 Eu posso não ser um orador eloqüente; contudo tenho conhecimento. De fato, já manifestamos isso a vocês em todo tipo de situação.
7 Did I therin synne be cause I submitted my silfe that ye myght be exalted and because I preached to you the gospell of God fre?
7 Será que cometi algum pecado ao humilhar-me a fim de elevá-los, pregando-lhes gratuitamente o evangelho de Deus?
8 I robbed other congregacions and toke wages of the to do you service with all.
8 Despojei outras igrejas, recebendo delas sustento, a fim de servi-los.
9 And when I was present with yov and had nede I was greuous to no man for that which was lackynge vnto me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all thynges I kept my silfe that I shuld not be greveous to you: and so will I kepe my silfe.
9 Quando estive entre vocês e passei por alguma necessidade, não fui um peso para ninguém; pois os irmãos, quando vieram da Macedônia, supriram aquilo de que eu necessitava. Fiz tudo para não ser pesado a vocês, e continuarei a agir assim.
10 Yf the trueth of Christ be in me this ieioysynge shall not be taken from me in the regions of Achaia.
10 Tão certo como a verdade de Cristo está em mim, ninguém na região da Acaia poderá privar-me deste orgulho.
11 Wherfore? Be cause I love you not? God knoweth.
11 Por quê? Por que não os amo? Deus sabe que os amo!
12 Neverthe lesse what I doo that will I do to cut awaye occasion from them which desyre occasion that they myght be founde lyke vnto vs in that wherin they reioyce.
12 E continuarei fazendo o que faço, a fim de não dar oportunidade àqueles que desejam encontrar ocasião de serem considerados iguais a nós nas coisas de que se orgulham.
13 For these falce apostles are disceatefull workers and fassion them selves lyke vnto ye apostles of Christ.
13 Pois tais homens são falsos apóstolos, obreiros enganosos, fingindo-se apóstolos de Cristo.
14 And no marvayle for satan him silfe is chaunged into the fassion of an angell of light.
14 Isto não é de admirar, pois o próprio Satanás se disfarça de anjo de luz.
15 Therfore it is no great thynge though his ministers fassion them selves as though they were the ministers of rightewesnes: whose ende shalbe acordynge to their dedes.
15 Portanto, não é surpresa que os seus servos finjam que são servos da justiça. O fim deles será o que as suas ações merecem.
16 I saye agayne lest eny man thynke yt I am folishe: or els eve now take me as a fole that I maye bost my silfe a lytell.
16 Faço questão de repetir: ninguém me considere insensato. Mas se vocês assim me consideram, recebam-me como receberiam um insensato, a fim de que eu me orgulhe um pouco.
17 That I speake I speake it not after the wayes of the lorde: but as it were folysshly whill we are now come to bostynge.
17 Ao ostentar este orgulho, não estou falando segundo o Senhor, mas como insensato.
18 Seynge that many reioyce after ye flesshe I will reioyce also.
18 Visto que muitos estão se vangloriando de modo bem humano, eu também me orgulharei.
19 For ye suffre foles gladly be cause that ye youre selves are wyse.
19 Vocês, por serem tão sábios, suportam de boa vontade os insensatos!
20 For ye suffre even if a man brynge you into bondage: yf a ma devoure: yf a man take: yf a man exalt hym silfe: yf a man smyte you on the face.
20 De fato, vocês suportam até quem os escraviza ou os explora, ou quem se exalta ou lhes fere a face.
21 I speake as concernynge rebuke as though we had bene weake. How be it wherin soever eny man dare be bolde (I speake folisshly) I dare be bolde also
21 Para minha vergonha, admito que fomos fracos demais para isso! Naquilo em que todos os outros se atrevem a gloriar-se — falo como insensato — eu também me atrevo.
22 They are Ebrues so am I: They are Israelites eve so am I. They are ye seede of Abraha even so am I.
22 São eles hebreus? Eu também. São israelitas? Eu também. São descendentes de Abraão? Eu também.
23 They are ye ministers of Christ (I speake as a fole) I am moare: In labours moare aboundat: In strypes above measure: In preson more plenteously: In deeth ofte.
23 São eles servos de Cristo? — estou fora de mim para falar desta forma — eu ainda mais: trabalhei muito mais, fui encarcerado mais vezes, fui açoitado mais severamente e exposto à morte repetidas vezes.
24 Of the Iewes five tymes receaved I every tyme .xl. strypes saue one.
24 Cinco vezes recebi dos judeus trinta e nove açoites.
25 Thryse was I beten with roddes. I was once stoned. I suffered thryse shipwracke. Nyght and daye have I bene in the depe of the see.
25 Três vezes fui golpeado com varas, uma vez apedrejado, três vezes sofri naufrágio, passei uma noite e um dia exposto à fúria do mar.
26 In iorneyinge often: In parels of waters: In parels of robbers: In ieoperdies of myne awne nacion: In ieoperdies amoge the hethen. I have bene in parels in cities in parels in wildernes in parels in the see in parels amonge falce brethren
26 Estive continuamente viajando de uma parte a outra, enfrentei perigos nos rios, perigos de assaltantes, perigos dos meus compatriotas, perigos dos gentios; perigos na cidade, perigos no deserto, perigos no mar, e perigos dos falsos irmãos.
27 in laboure and travayle in watchynge often in honger in thirst in fastynges often in colde and in nakednes.
27 Trabalhei arduamente; muitas vezes fiquei sem dormir, passei fome e sede, e muitas vezes fiquei em jejum; suportei frio e nudez.
28 And besyde the thynges which outwardly happe vnto me I am cobred dayly and do care for all congregacions.
28 Além disso, enfrento diariamente uma pressão interior, a saber, a minha preocupação com todas as igrejas.
29 Who is sicke and I am not sicke? Who is hurte in the fayth and my hert burneth not?
29 Quem está fraco, que eu não me sinta fraco? Quem não se escandaliza, que eu não me queime por dentro?
30 Yf I must nedes reioyce I will reioyce of myne infirmities.
30 Se devo me orgulhar, que seja nas coisas que mostram a minha fraqueza.
31 The God and father of oure lorde Iesus Christ which is blessed for evermore knoweth that I lye not
31 O Deus e Pai do Senhor Jesus, que é bendito para sempre, sabe que não estou mentindo.
32 In ye citie of Damascon the governer of ye people vnder kynge Aretas layde watche in ye citie of the Damasces and wolde have caught me
32 Em Damasco, o governador nomeado pelo rei Aretas mandou que se vigiasse a cidade para me prender.
33 and at a wyndowe was I let doune in a basket thorowe the wall and so scaped his hondes.
33 Mas de uma janela na muralha fui baixado numa cesta e escapei das mãos dele.
