1 Wolde to god ye coulde suffre me a lytell in my folysshnes: yee and I praye you forbeare me.
1 Quisera eu me suportásseis um pouco mais na minha loucura. Suportai-me, pois.
2 For I am gelous over you with godly gelousy. For I coupled you to one man to make you a chaste virgen to Christ.
2 Porque zelo por vós com zelo de Deus; visto que vos tenho preparado para vos apresentar como virgem pura a um só esposo, que é Cristo.
3 But I feare lest as the serpent begyled Eve thorow his sutteltie even so youre wittes shuld be corrupte from the singlenes that is in Christ.
3 Mas receio que, assim como a serpente enganou a Eva com a sua astúcia, assim também seja corrompida a vossa mente e se aparte da simplicidade e pureza devidas a Cristo.
4 For if he that commeth preache another Iesus then hym whom we preached: or if ye receave another sprete then that which ye have receaved: other another gospell then that ye have receaved ye myght right wel have bene content.
4 Se, na verdade, vindo alguém, prega outro Jesus que não temos pregado, ou se aceitais espírito diferente que não tendes recebido, ou evangelho diferente que não tendes abraçado, a esse, de boa mente, o tolerais.
5 I suppose that I was not behynde ye chefe apostles.
5 Porque suponho em nada ter sido inferior a esses tais apóstolos.
6 Though I be rude in speakynge yet I am not so in knowledge. How be it amonge you we are knowen to the vtmost what we are in all thynges.
6 E, embora seja falto no falar, não o sou no conhecimento; mas, em tudo e por todos os modos, vos temos feito conhecer isto.
7 Did I therin synne be cause I submitted my silfe that ye myght be exalted and because I preached to you the gospell of God fre?
7 Cometi eu, porventura, algum pecado pelo fato de viver humildemente, para que fôsseis vós exaltados, visto que gratuitamente vos anunciei o evangelho de Deus?
8 I robbed other congregacions and toke wages of the to do you service with all.
8 Despojei outras igrejas, recebendo salário, para vos poder servir,
9 And when I was present with yov and had nede I was greuous to no man for that which was lackynge vnto me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all thynges I kept my silfe that I shuld not be greveous to you: and so will I kepe my silfe.
9 e, estando entre vós, ao passar privações, não me fiz pesado a ninguém; pois os irmãos, quando vieram da Macedônia, supriram o que me faltava; e, em tudo, me guardei e me guardarei de vos ser pesado.
10 Yf the trueth of Christ be in me this ieioysynge shall not be taken from me in the regions of Achaia.
10 A verdade de Cristo está em mim; por isso, não me será tirada esta glória nas regiões da Acaia.
11 Wherfore? Be cause I love you not? God knoweth.
11 Por que razão? É porque não vos amo? Deus o sabe.
12 Neverthe lesse what I doo that will I do to cut awaye occasion from them which desyre occasion that they myght be founde lyke vnto vs in that wherin they reioyce.
12 Mas o que faço e farei é para cortar ocasião àqueles que a buscam com o intuito de serem considerados iguais a nós, naquilo em que se gloriam.
13 For these falce apostles are disceatefull workers and fassion them selves lyke vnto ye apostles of Christ.
13 Porque os tais são falsos apóstolos, obreiros fraudulentos, transformando-se em apóstolos de Cristo.
14 And no marvayle for satan him silfe is chaunged into the fassion of an angell of light.
14 E não é de admirar, porque o próprio Satanás se transforma em anjo de luz.
15 Therfore it is no great thynge though his ministers fassion them selves as though they were the ministers of rightewesnes: whose ende shalbe acordynge to their dedes.
15 Não é muito, pois, que os seus próprios ministros se transformem em ministros de justiça; e o fim deles será conforme as suas obras.
16 I saye agayne lest eny man thynke yt I am folishe: or els eve now take me as a fole that I maye bost my silfe a lytell.
16 Outra vez digo: ninguém me considere insensato; todavia, se o pensais, recebei-me como insensato, para que também me glorie um pouco.
17 That I speake I speake it not after the wayes of the lorde: but as it were folysshly whill we are now come to bostynge.
17 O que falo, não o falo segundo o Senhor, e sim como por loucura, nesta confiança de gloriar-me.
18 Seynge that many reioyce after ye flesshe I will reioyce also.
18 E, posto que muitos se gloriam segundo a carne, também eu me gloriarei.
19 For ye suffre foles gladly be cause that ye youre selves are wyse.
19 Porque, sendo vós sensatos, de boa mente tolerais os insensatos.
20 For ye suffre even if a man brynge you into bondage: yf a ma devoure: yf a man take: yf a man exalt hym silfe: yf a man smyte you on the face.
20 Tolerais quem vos escravize, quem vos devore, quem vos detenha, quem se exalte, quem vos esbofeteie no rosto.
21 I speake as concernynge rebuke as though we had bene weake. How be it wherin soever eny man dare be bolde (I speake folisshly) I dare be bolde also
21 Ingloriamente o confesso, como se fôramos fracos. Mas, naquilo em que qualquer tem ousadia (com insensatez o afirmo), também eu a tenho.
22 They are Ebrues so am I: They are Israelites eve so am I. They are ye seede of Abraha even so am I.
22 São hebreus? Também eu. São israelitas? Também eu. São da descendência de Abraão? Também eu.
23 They are ye ministers of Christ (I speake as a fole) I am moare: In labours moare aboundat: In strypes above measure: In preson more plenteously: In deeth ofte.
23 São ministros de Cristo? (Falo como fora de mim.) Eu ainda mais: em trabalhos, muito mais; muito mais em prisões; em açoites, sem medida; em perigos de morte, muitas vezes.
24 Of the Iewes five tymes receaved I every tyme .xl. strypes saue one.
24 Cinco vezes recebi dos judeus uma quarentena de açoites menos um;
25 Thryse was I beten with roddes. I was once stoned. I suffered thryse shipwracke. Nyght and daye have I bene in the depe of the see.
25 fui três vezes fustigado com varas; uma vez, apedrejado; em naufrágio, três vezes; uma noite e um dia passei na voragem do mar;
26 In iorneyinge often: In parels of waters: In parels of robbers: In ieoperdies of myne awne nacion: In ieoperdies amoge the hethen. I have bene in parels in cities in parels in wildernes in parels in the see in parels amonge falce brethren
26 em jornadas, muitas vezes; em perigos de rios, em perigos de salteadores, em perigos entre patrícios, em perigos entre gentios, em perigos na cidade, em perigos no deserto, em perigos no mar, em perigos entre falsos irmãos;
27 in laboure and travayle in watchynge often in honger in thirst in fastynges often in colde and in nakednes.
27 em trabalhos e fadigas, em vigílias, muitas vezes; em fome e sede, em jejuns, muitas vezes; em frio e nudez.
28 And besyde the thynges which outwardly happe vnto me I am cobred dayly and do care for all congregacions.
28 Além das coisas exteriores, há o que pesa sobre mim diariamente, a preocupação com todas as igrejas.
29 Who is sicke and I am not sicke? Who is hurte in the fayth and my hert burneth not?
29 Quem enfraquece, que também eu não enfraqueça? Quem se escandaliza, que eu não me inflame?
30 Yf I must nedes reioyce I will reioyce of myne infirmities.
30 Se tenho de gloriar-me, gloriar-me-ei no que diz respeito à minha fraqueza.
31 The God and father of oure lorde Iesus Christ which is blessed for evermore knoweth that I lye not
31 O Deus e Pai do Senhor Jesus, que é eternamente bendito, sabe que não minto.
32 In ye citie of Damascon the governer of ye people vnder kynge Aretas layde watche in ye citie of the Damasces and wolde have caught me
32 Em Damasco, o governador preposto do rei Aretas montou guarda na cidade dos damascenos, para me prender;
33 and at a wyndowe was I let doune in a basket thorowe the wall and so scaped his hondes.
33 mas, num grande cesto, me desceram por uma janela da muralha abaixo, e assim me livrei das suas mãos.
