1 Beholde what love the father hath shewed on vs that we shuld be called the sonnes of god. For this cause the worlde knoweth you not because it knoweth not him.
1 Vejam que grande amor o Pai nos tem concedido, a ponto de sermos chamados filhos de Deus; e, de fato, somos filhos de Deus. Por essa razão, o mundo não nos conhece, porque não o conheceu.
2 Derely beloved now are we ye sonnes of God and yet it dothe not appere what we shal be. But we knowe that when it shall appere we shal be lyke him. For we shall se him as he is.
2 Amados, agora somos filhos de Deus, mas ainda não se manifestou o que haveremos de ser. Sabemos que, quando ele se manifestar, seremos semelhantes a ele, porque haveremos de vê-lo como ele é.
3 And every man that hath thys hope in him pourgeth him silfe even as he ys pure.
3 E todo o que tem essa esperança nele purifica a si mesmo, assim como ele é puro.
4 Whosover committeth synne committeth vnrighteousnes also for synne is vnrighteousnes.
4 Todo aquele que pratica o pecado também transgride a lei, porque o pecado é a transgressão da lei.
5 And ye knowe that he appered to take awaye oure synnes and in him is no synne.
5 E vocês sabem que ele se manifestou para tirar os pecados, e nele não existe pecado.
6 As many as byde in him synne not: whosoever synneth hath not sene him nether hath knowen him.
6 Todo aquele que permanece nele não vive pecando; todo aquele que vive pecando não o viu, nem o conheceu.
7 Babes let no man deceave you He that doeth righteousnes is righteous even as he is righteous.
7 Filhinhos, não se deixem enganar por ninguém. Aquele que pratica a justiça é justo, assim como ele é justo.
8 He that comitteth synne is of the devill: for the devyll synneth sence the begynnynge. For this purpose appered the sonne of god to lowse the workes of the devill.
8 Aquele que pratica o pecado procede do diabo, porque o diabo vive pecando desde o princípio. Para isto se manifestou o Filho de Deus: para destruir as obras do diabo.
9 Whosoever is borne of god sinneth not: for his seed remayneth in him and he cannot sinne because he is borne of god.
9 Todo aquele que é nascido de Deus não vive na prática de pecado, porque nele permanece a semente divina; esse não pode viver pecando, porque é nascido de Deus.
10 In this are the children of god knowen and the children of the devyll. Whosoever doeth not rightewesnes is not of God nether he that loveth not his brother.
10 Nisto são manifestos os filhos de Deus e os filhos do diabo: todo aquele que não pratica a justiça não procede de Deus, e o mesmo vale para aquele que não ama o seu irmão.
11 For this is the tydinges that ye hearde fro the begynninge that we shuld love one another:
11 Porque a mensagem que vocês ouviram desde o princípio é esta: que nos amemos uns aos outros.
12 not as Cayn which was of the wicked and slewe his brother. And wherfore slewe he him? Because his awne workes were evyll and his brothers good.
12 Não sejamos como Caim, que era do Maligno e matou o seu irmão. E por que o matou? Porque as suas obras eram más, e as de seu irmão eram justas.
13 Marvayle not my brethren though the worlde hate you.
13 Irmãos, não se admirem se o mundo odeia vocês.
14 We knowe that we are translated from deeth vnto lyfe be cause we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abydeth in deeth.
14 Nós sabemos que já passamos da morte para a vida, porque amamos os irmãos. Quem não ama permanece na morte.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a man slear. And ye knowe that no man slear hath eternall lyfe abydinge in him.
15 Todo aquele que odeia o seu irmão é assassino, e vocês sabem que todo assassino não tem a vida eterna permanente em si.
16 Herby perceave we love: that he gave his lyfe for vs: and therfore ought we also to geve oure lyves for the brethre.
16 Nisto conhecemos o amor: que Cristo deu a sua vida por nós; portanto, também nós devemos dar a nossa vida pelos irmãos.
17 Whosoever hath this worldes good and seith his brother have neade: and shutteth vp his copassion from him: how dwelleth the love of God in him?
17 Ora, se alguém possui recursos deste mundo e vê seu irmão passar necessidade, mas fecha o coração para essa pessoa, como pode permanecer nele o amor de Deus?
18 My babes let vs not love in worde nether in tonge: but with dede and in veritie:
18 Filhinhos, não amemos de palavra, nem da boca para fora, mas de fato e de verdade.
19 for therby we knowe that we are of the veritie and can before him quiet oure hertes.
19 E nisto conheceremos que somos da verdade, bem como, diante dele, tranquilizaremos o nosso coração.
20 But yf oure hertes condempne vs God is gretter then oure hertes and knoweth all thinges.
20 Pois, se o nosso coração nos acusar, Deus é maior do que o nosso coração e conhece todas as coisas.
21 Beloved yf oure hertes condempne vs not then have we trust to god warde:
21 Amados, se o coração não nos acusar, temos confiança diante de Deus;
22 and what soever we axe we shall receave of him: be cause we kepe his commaundementes and do those thinges which are pleasinge in his sight.
22 e aquilo que pedimos dele recebemos, porque guardamos os seus mandamentos e fazemos diante dele o que lhe é agradável.
23 And this is his comaundemet that we beleve on ye name of his sonne Iesus Christ and love one another as he gave comaundemet.
23 E o seu mandamento é este: que creiamos no nome de seu Filho, Jesus Cristo, e nos amemos uns aos outros, segundo o mandamento que nos ordenou.
24 And he yt kepeth his comaundemetes dwelleth in him and he in him: and therby we knowe that ther abydeth in vs of the sprete which he gave vs.
24 Quem guarda os seus mandamentos permanece em Deus, e Deus permanece nele. E nisto conhecemos que ele permanece em nós, pelo Espírito que nos deu.
