1 Ora, estava enfermo um homem chamado Lázaro, de Betânia, aldeia de Maria e de sua irmã Marta.
2 \+w Era|strong="G1510"\+w* \+w aquella|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w María|strong="G3137"\+w*, \+w que|strong="G3588"\+w* había ungido \+w al|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w Señor|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w con|strong="G2532"\+w* perfume \+w y|strong="G2532"\+w* enjugado \+w sus|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w pies|strong="G4228"\+w* \+w con|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w sus|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w cabellos|strong="G2359"\+w*, \+w cuyo|strong="G3739"\+w* hermano \+w Lázaro|strong="G2976"\+w* estaba enfermo.
2 E Maria, cujo irmão Lázaro se achava enfermo, era a mesma que ungiu o Senhor com bálsamo, e lhe enxugou os pés com os seus cabelos.
3 \+w Las|strong="G3588"\+w* hermanas, \+w pues|strong="G3767"\+w*, enviaron \+w a|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w decirle|strong="G3004"\+w*: “\+w Señor|strong="G2962"\+w*, he aquí \+w que|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w está|strong="G3588"\+w* enfermo \+w aquel|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w a|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w quien|strong="G3739"\+w* tienes gran afecto”.
3 Mandaram, pois, as irmãs dizer a Jesus: Senhor, eis que está enfermo aquele que tu amas.

4 Jesus, porém, ao ouvir isto, disse: Esta enfermidade não é para a morte, mas para glória de Deus, para que o Filho de Deus seja glorificado por ela.
5 \+w Jesús|strong="G2424"\+w* amaba \+w a|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w Marta|strong="G3136"\+w*, \+w a|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w su|strong="G3588"\+w* hermana \+w y|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w a|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w Lázaro|strong="G2976"\+w*.
5 Ora, Jesus amava a Marta, e a sua irmã, e a Lázaro.

6 Quando, pois, ouviu que estava enfermo, ficou ainda dois dias no lugar onde se achava.

7 Depois disto, disse a seus discípulos: Vamos outra vez para Judéia.
8 \+w Los|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w discípulos|strong="G3101"\+w* le preguntaron: “Rabí, \+w los|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w judíos|strong="G2453"\+w* \+w querían|strong="G2212"\+w* apedrearte. ¿\+w Vas|strong="G5217"\+w* a \+w ir|strong="G5217"\+w* \+w allí|strong="G1563"\+w* \+w de|strong="G3588"\+w* nuevo?”
8 Disseram-lhe eles: Rabi, ainda agora os judeus procuravam apedrejar-te, e voltas para lá?

9 Respondeu Jesus: Não são doze as horas do dia? Se alguém andar de dia, não tropeça, porque vê a luz deste mundo;

10 mas se andar de noite, tropeça, porque nele não há luz.

11 E, tendo assim falado, acrescentou: Lázaro, o nosso amigo, dorme, mas vou despertá-lo do sono.
12 \+w Entonces|strong="G3767"\+w* \+w los|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w discípulos|strong="G3101"\+w* \+w dijeron|strong="G3004"\+w*: “\+w Señor|strong="G2962"\+w*, \+w si|strong="G1487"\+w* se ha dormido, se recuperará”.
12 Disseram-lhe, pois, os discípulos: Senhor, se dorme, ficará bom.

13 Mas Jesus falara da sua morte; eles, porém, entenderam que falava do repouso do sono.

15 e, por vossa causa, folgo de que eu lá não estivesse, para que creiais; mas vamos ter com ele.

16 Disse, pois, Tomé, chamado Dídimo, aos seus condiscípulos: Vamos nós também, para morrermos com ele.

17 Chegando pois Jesus, encontrou-o já com quatro dias de sepultura.
18 Betania estaba \+w cerca|strong="G1451"\+w* \+w de|strong="G3588"\+w* Jerusalén, \+w a|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w unos|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w quince|strong="G1178"\+w* \+w estadios|strong="G4712"\+w*.
18 Ora, Betânia distava de Jerusalém cerca de quinze estádios.
19 \+w Muchos|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w de|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w los|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w judíos|strong="G2453"\+w* \+w se|strong="G1438"\+w* habían reunido \+w con|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w las|strong="G3588"\+w* mujeres \+w en|strong="G1537"\+w* torno \+w a|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w Marta|strong="G3136"\+w* \+w y|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w María|strong="G3137"\+w*, \+w para|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w consolarlas|strong="G3888"\+w* \+w por|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w su|strong="G3588"\+w* hermano.
19 E muitos dos judeus tinham vindo visitar Marta e Maria, para as consolar acerca de seu irmão.
20 \+w Cuando|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w Marta|strong="G3136"\+w* se enteró \+w de|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w que|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w Jesús|strong="G2424"\+w* \+w venía|strong="G2064"\+w*, \+w fue|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w a|strong="G1722"\+w* recibirlo, \+w pero|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w María|strong="G3137"\+w* se quedó \+w en|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w la|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w casa|strong="G3624"\+w*.
20 Marta, pois, ao saber que Jesus chegava, saiu-lhe ao encontro; Maria, porém, ficou sentada em casa.
21 \+w Entonces|strong="G3767"\+w* \+w Marta|strong="G3136"\+w* \+w dijo|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w a|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w Jesús|strong="G2424"\+w*: “\+w Señor|strong="G2962"\+w*, \+w si|strong="G1487"\+w* hubieras estado \+w aquí|strong="G5602"\+w*, \+w mi|strong="G3588"\+w* hermano \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* habría muerto.
21 Disse, pois, Marta a Jesus: Senhor, se meu irmão não teria morrido.

22 E mesmo agora sei que tudo quanto pedires a Deus, Deus to concederá.

23 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Teu irmão há de ressurgir.

24 Disse-lhe Marta: Sei que ele há de ressurgir na ressurreição, no último dia.

25 Declarou-lhe Jesus: Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida; quem crê em mim, ainda que morra, viverá;

26 e todo aquele que vive, e crê em mim, jamais morrerá. Crês isto?

27 Respondeu-lhe Marta: Sim, Senhor, eu creio que tu és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus, que havia de vir ao mundo.

28 Dito isto, retirou-se e foi chamar em segredo a Maria, sua irmã, e lhe disse: O Mestre está aí, e te chama.

29 Ela, ouvindo isto, levantou-se depressa, e foi ter com ele.

31 Então os judeus que estavam com Maria em casa e a consolavam, vendo-a levantar-se apressadamente e sair, seguiram-na, pensando que ia ao sepulcro para chorar ali.

32 Tendo, pois, Maria chegado ao lugar onde Jesus estava, e vendo-a, lançou-se-lhe aos pés e disse: Senhor, se tu estiveras aqui, meu irmão não teria morrido.

33 Jesus, pois, quando a viu chorar, e chorarem também os judeus que com ela vinham, comoveu-se em espírito, e perturbou-se,
34 \+w y|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w dijo|strong="G3004"\+w*: “¿\+w Dónde|strong="G4226"\+w* lo han \+w puesto|strong="G5087"\+w*?”
34 e perguntou: Onde o puseste? Responderam-lhe: Senhor, vem e vê.
35 \+w Jesús|strong="G2424"\+w* lloró.
35 Jesus chorou.
36 \+w Por|strong="G3588"\+w* eso \+w los|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w judíos|strong="G2453"\+w* \+w decían|strong="G3004"\+w*: “¡Vean \+w cuánto|strong="G3588"\+w* afecto le tenía!”.
36 Disseram então os judeus: Vede como o amava.

37 Mas alguns deles disseram: Não podia ele, que abriu os olhos ao cego, fazer também que este não morreste?
