¹ Sing aloud to God our strength, shout for joy to the God of Jacob.

¹ Ao Músico-chefe, sobre Gitite, Salmo de Asafe. Cantai alto a Deus, nossa força; fazei um alegre barulho ao Deus de Jacó.

² Raise a song, sound the timbrel, sweet lyre and harp.

² Tomai um salmo, e trazei junto o tamborim, a harpa agradável com o saltério.

³ On the new moon blow the horn, at the full moon, the day of our festival.

³ Tocai a trombeta na lua nova, no tempo designado, em nosso solene dia de festa.

⁴ For this is a statute for Israel, a ruling of the God of Jacob,

⁴ Pois este foi um estatuto para Israel, e uma lei do Deus de Jacó.

⁵ a witness he set up in Joseph, when he marched against Egypt’s land, where he heard an unknown language.

⁸ Listen, my people, to my warning, O Israel, if you would but listen

⁸ Ouve, ó meu povo, e testemunharei a ti; ó Israel, se tu me ouvires.

⁹ ‘There must not be a strange god among you, you must bow to no foreign god.

⁹ Não haverá deus estranho em ti; nem tu adorarás nenhum deus estranho.

¹⁰ I am the Lord your God who brought you up out of Egypt. Open your mouth, that I fill it.’

¹⁰ Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te trouxe da terra do Egito; abre bem a tua boca, e eu a encherei.

¹¹ But my people did not listen to my voice, Israel would have none of me.

¹¹ Mas o meu povo não quis ouvir a minha voz, e Israel não quis nada de mim.

¹² So to their own hard hearts I left them, to follow their own devices.

¹² Então, eu os entreguei à luxúria dos seus próprios corações, e eles caminharam em seus próprios conselhos.

¹³ O that my people would listen, that Israel would walk in my ways.

¹³ Oh, se meu povo tivesse me ouvido, e Israel tivesse andado em meus caminhos!

¹⁴ Soon would I humble their enemies, and turn my hand on their foes.

¹⁵ Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him in everlasting terror.

¹⁶ But you would I feed with the richest wheat, and with honey from the rock to your heart’s desire.”

¹⁶ Ele os teria alimentado com o mais fino do trigo; e eu te satisfaria com o mel tirado da rocha.
