1 Hallelujah. Happy are those who fear the Lord, and greatly delight in his commandments.
1 Aleluia. Feliz o homem que teme o Senhor, e põe o seu prazer em observar os seus mandamentos.
2 Mighty on earth shall be their seed; a blessing shall rest on the race of the upright.
2 Será poderosa sua descendência na terra, e bendita a raça dos homens retos.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses, their prosperity stands forever.
3 Suntuosa riqueza haverá em sua casa, e para sempre durará sua abundância.
4 To the upright arises light in the darkness; full of favour and pity and kindness are they.
4 Como luz, se eleva, nas trevas, para os retos, o homem benfazejo, misericordioso e justo.
5 It is well with those who show pity and lend, who support all their affairs upon justice.
5 Feliz o homem que se compadece e empresta, que regula suas ações pela justiça.
6 For they will never be shaken; the just will be forever remembered.
6 Nada jamais o há de abalar: eterna será a memória do justo.
7 They will not be afraid of evil tidings, with steady heart they trust the Lord.
7 Não temerá notícias funestas, porque seu coração está firme e confiante no Senhor.
8 Their heart is firm and unafraid: they know they will feast their eyes on their enemies.
8 Inabalável é seu coração, livre de medo, até que possa ver confundidos os seus adversários.
9 With lavish hands they give to the poor, and their prosperity stands forever. They are lifted to heights of triumph and honour.
9 Com largueza distribuiu, deu aos pobres; sua liberalidade permanecerá para sempre. Pode levantar a cabeça com altivez.
10 The sight of them fills the wicked with anger: grinding their teeth with dispair. The hopes of the wicked will come to nothing.
10 O pecador, porém, não pode vê-lo sem inveja, range os dentes e definha; anulam-se, assim, os desejos dos maus.
