1 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: — “These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, and walks among the seven golden lamps: —
1 Ao anjo da igreja em Éfeso escreva: Estas são as palavras daquele que tem as sete estrelas em sua mão direita e anda entre os sete candelabros de ouro.
2 I know your life, your toil and endurance, and I know that you cannot tolerate evil-doers. I know, too, how you tested those who declare that they are apostles, though they are not, and how you proved them false.
2 Conheço as suas obras, o seu trabalho árduo e a sua perseverança. Sei que você não pode tolerar homens maus, que pôs à prova os que dizem ser apóstolos mas não são, e descobriu que eles eram impostores.
3 You possess endurance, and have borne much for my name, and have never grown weary.
3 Você tem perseverado e suportado sofrimentos por causa do meu nome, e não tem desfalecido.
4 But this I have against you — You have abandoned your first love.
4 Contra você, porém, tenho isto: você abandonou o seu primeiro amor.
5 Therefore remember from what you have fallen, and repent, and live the life that you lived before; or else, I will come and remove your Lamp from its place, unless you repent.
5 Lembre-se de onde caiu! Arrependa-se e pratique as obras que praticava no princípio. Se não se arrepender, virei a você e tirarei o seu candelabro do seu lugar.
6 But this is in your favor — You hate the life lived by the Nikolaitans, and I also hate it.
6 Mas há uma coisa a seu favor: você odeia as práticas dos nicolaítas, como eu também as odeio.
7 Let him who has ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To him who conquers — to him I will give the right ‘to eat the fruit of the Tree of life, which stands in the Paradise of God.’ “
7 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas. Ao vencedor darei o direito de comer da árvore da vida, que está no paraíso de Deus.
8 To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: — “These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died, but is restored to life: —
8 Ao anjo da igreja em Esmirna escreva: Estas são as palavras daquele que é o Primeiro e o Último, que morreu e tornou a viver.
9 I know your persecution and your poverty — yet you are rich! I know, too, the slander that comes from those who declare that they are God's people, though they are not, but are a Congregation of Satan.
9 Conheço as suas aflições e a sua pobreza; mas você é rico! Conheço a blasfêmia dos que se dizem judeus mas não são, sendo antes sinagoga de Satanás.
10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tempted, and may undergo persecution for ten days. Be faithful even to death, and I will give you the Crown of life.
10 Não tenha medo do que você está prestes a sofrer. Saibam que o diabo lançará alguns de vocês na prisão para prová-los, e vocês sofrerão perseguição durante dez dias. Seja fiel até a morte, e eu lhe darei a coroa da vida.
11 Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Those who conquer will suffer no hurt from the Second Death.”
11 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas. O vencedor de modo algum sofrerá a segunda morte.
12 To the angel of the church in Pergamus write: — “These are the words of him who holds the sharp two-edged sword: —
12 Ao anjo da igreja em Pérgamo escreva: Estas são as palavras daquele que tem a espada afiada de dois gumes.
13 I know where you live, where the throne of Satan stands. And yet you hold to my name, and you did not disown my faith even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death among you where Satan dwells.
13 Sei onde você vive, onde está o trono de Satanás. Contudo, você permanece fiel ao meu nome e não renunciou à sua fé em mim, nem mesmo quando Antipas, minha fiel testemunha, foi morto nessa cidade, onde Satanás habita.
14 Yet I have a few things against you — You have among you those who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put temptations in the way of the Israelites, so that they should eat idol-offerings and commit licentious acts.
14 No entanto, tenho contra você algumas coisas: você tem aí pessoas que se apegam aos ensinos de Balaão, que ensinou Balaque a armar ciladas contra os israelitas, induzindo-os a comer alimentos sacrificados a ídolos e a praticar imoralidade sexual.
15 Again you have among you those who hold in the same way to the teaching of the Nikolaitans.
15 De igual modo você tem também os que se apegam aos ensinos dos nicolaítas.
16 Therefore repent, or else, I will come quickly and contend with such people with words that will cut like a sword.
16 Portanto, arrependa-se! Se não, virei em breve até você e lutarei contra eles com a espada da minha boca.
17 Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To those who conquer — to them I will give a share of the mystic manna, and I will give them a white stone; and on the stone will be inscribed a new name, which no one knows except the person who receives it.”
17 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas. Ao vencedor darei do maná escondido. Também lhe darei uma pedra branca com um novo nome nela inscrito, conhecido apenas por aquele que o recebe.
18 To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: — “These are the words of the Son of God, ‘whose eyes are like flaming fire, and whose feet are like brass’: —
18 Ao anjo da igreja em Tiatira escreva: Estas são as palavras do Filho de Deus, cujos olhos são como chama de fogo e os pés como bronze reluzente.
19 I know your life, your love, faith, service, and endurance; and I know that your life of late has been better than it was at first.
19 Conheço as suas obras, o seu amor, a sua fé, o seu serviço e a sua perseverança, e sei que você está fazendo mais agora do que no princípio.
20 Yet I have this against you — You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who declares that she is a Prophetess, and misleads my servants by her teaching, until they commit licentious acts and eat idol-offerings.
20 No entanto, contra você tenho isto: você tolera Jezabel, aquela mulher que se diz profetisa. Com os seus ensinos, ela induz os meus servos à imoralidade sexual e a comerem alimentos sacrificados aos ídolos.
21 I gave her time to repent, but she is determined not to turn from her licentiousness.
21 Dei-lhe tempo para que se arrependesse da sua imoralidade sexual, mas ela não quer se arrepender.
22 Therefore I am laying her on a bed of sickness, and bringing great suffering on those who are unfaithful with her, unless they repent and turn from a life like hers.
22 Por isso, vou fazê-la adoecer e trarei grande sofrimento aos que cometem adultério com ela, a não ser que se arrependam das obras que ela pratica.
23 I will also put her children to death; and all the churches will learn that I am he who ‘looks into people's hearts and souls’; and I will give to each one of you what their life deserves.
23 Matarei os filhos dessa mulher. Então, todas as igrejas saberão que eu sou aquele que sonda mentes e corações, e retribuirei a cada um de vocês de acordo com as suas obras.
24 But I say to the rest of you at Thyatira — all who do not accept such teaching, whose who did not learn ‘the secrets of Satan,’ as people call them — I am not laying on you any further burden;
24 Aos demais que estão em Tiatira, a vocês que não seguem a doutrina dela e não aprenderam, como eles dizem, os profundos segredos de Satanás, digo: não porei outra carga sobre vocês;
25 only hold fast to what you have received, until I come.
25 tão-somente apeguem-se com firmeza ao que vocês têm, até que eu venha.
26 To those who conquer and are careful to live my life to the end — to them I will give authority over the nations,
26 Àquele que vencer e fizer a minha vontade até o fim darei autoridade sobre as nações.
27 and ‘they will rule them with an iron rod, as when earthen vessels are broken in pieces’ (as I myself have received from my Father)
27 "Ele as governará com cetro de ferro e as despedaçará a um vaso de barro"
28 and I will give them the morning star.
28 Eu lhes darei a mesma autoridade que recebi autoridade de meu Pai. Também lhe darei a estrela da manhã.
29 Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.”
29 Aquele que tem ouvidos ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.
