1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.
1 Tu que habitas sob a proteção do Altíssimo, que moras à sombra do Onipotente,
2 I will say to Jehovah: My Refuge and my Fortress, my God; I will trust in Him.
2 dize ao Senhor: Sois meu refúgio e minha cidadela, meu Deus, em que eu confio.
3 For He delivers you from the fowler's trap, from destruction's plague.
3 É ele quem te livrará do laço do caçador, e da peste perniciosa.
4 With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler.
4 Ele te cobrirá com suas plumas, sob suas asas encontrarás refúgio. Sua fidelidade te será um escudo de proteção.
5 You shall not fear the terror of night, of the arrow that flies by day;
5 Tu não temerás os terrores noturnos, nem a flecha que voa à luz do dia,
6 of the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday.
6 nem a peste que se propaga nas trevas, nem o mal que grassa ao meio-dia.
7 A thousand shall fall by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you.
7 Caiam mil homens à tua esquerda e dez mil à tua direita, tu não serás atingido.
8 Only with your eyes you shall look, and see the reward of the wicked.
8 Porém verás com teus próprios olhos, contemplarás o castigo dos pecadores,
9 Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if you make the Most High your habitation,
9 porque o Senhor é teu refúgio. Escolheste, por asilo, o Altíssimo.
10 no evil shall happen to You, nor shall any plague come near Your tent.
10 Nenhum mal te atingirá, nenhum flagelo chegará à tua tenda,
11 For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways.
11 porque aos seus anjos ele mandou que te guardem em todos os teus caminhos.
12 They shall bear You up in their hands, that You not dash Your foot on a stone.
12 Eles te sustentarão em suas mãos, para que não tropeces em alguma pedra.
13 You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent You shall trample under foot.
13 Sobre serpente e víbora andarás, calcarás aos pés o leão e o dragão.
14 Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name.
14 Pois que se uniu a mim, eu o livrarei; e o protegerei, pois conhece o meu nome.
15 He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him.
15 Quando me invocar, eu o atenderei; na tribulação estarei com ele. Hei de livrá-lo e o cobrirei de glória.
16 I will satisfy him with length of days and will make him see My salvation.
16 Será favorecido de longos dias, e mostrar-lhe-ei a minha salvação.
