1 Bel has bowed; Nebo stoops; their idols are for the beast, and for the cattle; your things carried are loads; a burden for the weary.
1 “Bel se encurva, Nebo se abaixa; os ídolos são postos sobre os animais, sobre as bestas. As cargas que vocês costumavam levar são canseira para os animais já cansados.
2 They stoop; they bow together; they are not able to deliver the burden; and their soul has gone into captivity.
2 Esses deuses juntamente se abaixam e se encurvam; não podem salvar a carga, mas eles mesmos vão para o cativeiro.”
3 Listen to me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel; who are borne from the belly, who are lifted from the womb:
3 “Escutem, ó casa de Jacó e todo o remanescente da casa de Israel, vocês que eu carrego desde o ventre materno e que levo nos braços desde o nascimento.
4 Even to old age I am He; and I will bear to gray hair; I made, and I will carry; and I will bear and deliver.
4 Até a velhice de vocês eu serei o mesmo e ainda quando tiverem cabelos brancos eu os carregarei. Eu os fiz e eu os levarei; eu os carregarei e os salvarei.”
5 To whom will you compare and make Me equal; yea, compare Me, that we may be alike?
5 “Com quem vocês vão me comparar? A quem eu seria igual? E que coisa semelhante confrontarão comigo?
6 Those who lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver on the measuring rod; they hire a refiner and he makes it a god. They fall down; yea, they worship.
6 Os que gastam o ouro da bolsa e pesam a prata nas balanças contratam um ourives para que faça um deus; e depois se prostram e se inclinam diante dele.
7 They carry it on the shoulder; they bear it and set it in its place, and it stands; it shall not move from its place. Yes, he cries to it, but it does not answer, it does not save him from his distress.
7 Eles o põem sobre os ombros, levam-no e o põem no seu lugar, e aí ele fica; do seu lugar não se move. Recorrem a ele, mas nenhuma resposta ele dá e não livra ninguém da sua tribulação.”
8 Remember this and be a man; return it on your heart, transgressors.
8 “Lembrem-se disso e animem-se; pensem a respeito disso, ó rebeldes.
9 Remember former things from forever, for I am God, and no one else is God, even none like Me,
9 Lembrem-se das coisas passadas, das coisas da antiguidade: que eu sou Deus, e não há outro; eu sou Deus, e não há outro semelhante a mim.
10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past those things which were not done, saying, My purpose shall rise; and, I will do all My desire;
10 Desde o princípio anuncio o que há de acontecer e desde a antiguidade revelo as coisas que ainda não sucederam. Eu digo: o meu conselho permanecerá em pé, e farei toda a minha vontade.
11 calling a bird of prey from the sunrise, the man of My counsel from a far off land. Yes, I have spoken; yes, I will cause it to come; I have formed; yes, I will do it.
11 Chamo uma ave de rapina desde o Oriente; de uma terra longínqua vem o homem do meu conselho. Eu o disse e também o cumprirei; fiz este plano, também o executarei.”
12 Listen to Me, mighty ones of heart who are far from righteousness:
12 “Escutem, vocês de coração obstinado, que estão longe da justiça.
13 I bring near My righteousness; it shall not be far off, and My salvation shall not wait; I will place salvation in Zion, My glory for Israel.
13 Faço chegar a minha justiça, e ela não está longe; a minha salvação não tardará. Estabelecerei em Sião o livramento e em Israel, a minha glória.”
