1 Then let us fear lest in any way a promise having been left to enter into His rest, that any of you may seem to come short.
1 Enquanto, pois, subsiste a promessa de entrar no seu descanso, tenhamos cuidado em que ninguém de nós corra o risco de ser excluído.
2 For, indeed, we have had the gospel preached to us , even as they also; but the word did not profit those hearing it , not having been mixed with faith in the ones who heard.
2 A boa nova nos foi trazida a nós, como o foi a eles. Mas a eles de nada aproveitou, porque caíram na descrença.
3 For we, the ones believing, enter into the rest, even as He said, "As I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter into My rest," though the works had come into being from the foundation of the world. LXX-Psa. 94:11, MT-Psa. 95:11
3 Nós, porém, se tivermos fé, haveremos de entrar no descanso. Ele disse: Eu jurei na minha ira: não entrarão no lugar do meu descanso. Ora, as obras de Deus estão concluídas desde a criação do mundo;
4 For He has spoken somewhere about the seventh day this way, "And God rested from all His works in the seventh day." Gen. 2:2
4 pois, em certa passagem, falou do sétimo dia o seguinte: E, terminado o seu trabalho, descansou Deus no sétimo dia {Gn 2,2}.
5 And in this place again, "They shall not enter into My rest." LXX-Psa. 94:11; MT-Psa. 95:11
5 Se, pois, ele repete: Não entrarão no lugar do meu descanso,
6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly had the gospel preached did not enter in on account of disobedience,
6 é sinal de que outros são chamados a entrar nele. E como aqueles a quem primeiro foi anunciada a promessa não entraram por não ter tido a fé,
7 He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, Today (after so long a time, according as He has said), "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." LXX-Psa. 94:7, 8; MT-Psa. 95:7, 8
7 Deus, após muitos anos, por meio de Davi, estabelece um novo dia, um hoje, ao pronunciar as palavras mencionadas: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçais os vossos corações.
8 For if Joshua gave them rest, then He would not have afterwards spoken about another day.
8 Se Josué lhes houvesse dado repouso, não teria depois disso falado dum outro dia.
9 So, then, there remains a sabbath rest to the people of God.
9 Por isso, resta um repouso sabático para o povo de Deus.
10 For he entering into His rest, he himself also rested from His works, as God had rested from His own. LXX-Psa. 95:11, Gen. 2:2
10 E quem entrar nesse repouso descansará das suas obras, assim como descansou Deus das suas.
11 Therefore, let us exert ourselves to enter into that rest, that not anyone fall in the same example of disobedience.
11 Assim, apressemo-nos a entrar neste descanso para não cairmos por nossa vez na mesma incredulidade.
12 For the word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and intentions of the heart;
12 Porque a palavra de Deus é viva, eficaz, mais penetrante do que uma espada de dois gumes e atinge até a divisão da alma e do corpo, das juntas e medulas, e discerne os pensamentos e intenções do coração.
13 and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.
13 Nenhuma criatura lhe é invisível. Tudo é nu e descoberto aos olhos daquele a quem havemos de prestar contas.
14 Then having a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.
14 Temos, portanto, um grande Sumo Sacerdote que penetrou nos céus, Jesus, Filho de Deus. Conservemos firme a nossa fé.
15 For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses but One having been tried in all respects according to our likeness, apart from sin.
15 Porque não temos nele um pontífice incapaz de compadecer-se das nossas fraquezas. Ao contrário, passou pelas mesmas provações que nós, com exceção do pecado.
16 Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and we may find grace for help in time of need.
16 Aproximemo-nos, pois, confiadamente do trono da graça, a fim de alcançar misericórdia e achar a graça de um auxílio oportuno.
