1 And going down from Judea, some taught the brothers, saying , If you are not circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.
1 Então alguns que tinham descido da Judéia ensinavam assim os irmãos: Se não vos circuncidardes conforme o uso de Moisés, não podeis salvar-vos.
2 Then dissension and not a little disputation with them having taken place by Paul and Barnabas, they appointed Paul and Barnabas and some others of them to go up into Jerusalem to the apostles and elders concerning this question.
2 Tendo tido Paulo e Barnabé não pequena discussão e contenda contra eles, resolveu-se que Paulo e Barnabé, e alguns dentre eles, subissem a Jerusalém, aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, sobre aquela questão.
3 Then, indeed, having been sent forward by the church they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, fully narrating the conversion of the nations. And they were producing great joy among all the brothers.
3 E eles, sendo acompanhados pela igreja, passavam pela Fenícia e por Samaria, contando a conversão dos gentios; e davam grande alegria a todos os irmãos.
4 And having arrived in Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders. And they reported what things God did with them.
4 E, quando chegaram a Jerusalém, foram recebidos pela igreja e pelos apóstolos e anciãos, e lhes anunciaram quão grandes coisas Deus tinha feito com eles.
5 But some of those rose up from the sect of the Pharisees who had believed, saying, It is necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the Law of Moses.
5 Alguns, porém, da seita dos fariseus, que tinham crido, se levantaram, dizendo que era mister circuncidá-los e mandar-lhes que guardassem a lei de Moisés.
6 And the apostles and the elders were assembled to see about this matter.
6 Congregaram-se, pois, os apóstolos e os anciãos para considerar este assunto.
7 And much disputation having occurred, rising up Peter said to them: Men, brothers, you recognize that from ancient days, God chose among us that through my mouth the nations should hear the Word of the gospel, and to believe.
7 E, havendo grande contenda, levantou-se Pedro e disse-lhes: Homens irmãos, bem sabeis que já há muito tempo Deus me elegeu dentre nós, para que os gentios ouvissem da minha boca a palavra do evangelho, e cressem.
8 And the heart knowing God testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us.
8 E Deus, que conhece os corações, lhes deu testemunho, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como também a nós;
9 And He made distinction in nothing between both us and them, having purified their hearts by faith.
9 E não fez diferença alguma entre eles e nós, purificando os seus corações pela fé.
10 Now, then, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we had strength to bear?
10 Agora, pois, por que tentais a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar?
11 But through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, according to which manner they also believed .
11 Mas cremos que seremos salvos pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, como eles também.
12 And all the multitude kept silent and were hearing Barnabas and Paul recounting what things God did through them among the nations, even the signs and wonders.
12 Então toda a multidão se calou e escutava a Barnabé e a Paulo, que contavam quão grandes sinais e prodígios Deus havia feito por meio deles entre os gentios.
13 And after they were silent, James responded, saying, Men, brothers, hear me:
13 E, havendo-se eles calado, tomou Tiago a palavra, dizendo: Homens irmãos, ouvi-me:
14 Simon recounted how even as at first God oversaw to take a people out from among the nations for His name.
14 Simão relatou como primeiramente Deus visitou os gentios, para tomar deles um povo para o seu nome.
15 And with this agree the words of the prophets, as it has been written,
15 E com isto concordam as palavras dos profetas; como está escrito:
16 After these things "I" will return and "will build again the tabernacle of David which has fallen," "and I will build again the things which have been demolished," and I will set it up, Amos 9:11, 12
16 Depois disto voltarei,e reedificarei o tabernáculo de Davi, que está caído, levantá-lo-ei das suas ruínas, e tornarei a edificá-lo.
17 so as the rest of men may seek the Lord, "even all the nations on whom My name has been called, says the Lord, who is doing all these things." Amos 9:11, 12
17 Para que o restante dos homens busque ao Senhor,e todos os gentios, sobre os quais o meu nome é invocado,diz o Senhor, que faz todas estas coisas,
18 All His works are known to God from eternity.
18 Conhecidas sào a Deus, desde o princípio do mundo, todas as suas obras.
19 For this reason I judge not to trouble those from the nations turning to God,
19 Por isso julgo que não se deve perturbar aqueles, dentre os gentios, que se convertem a Deus.
20 but to write to them to hold back from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and that strangled, and blood.
20 Mas escrever-lhes que se abstenham das contaminações dos ídolos, da fornicação, do que é sufocado e do sangue.
21 For in every city from ancient generations Moses has those proclaiming him, having been read in the synagogues on every sabbath.
21 Porque Moisés, desde os tempos antigos, tem em cada cidade quem o pregue, e cada sábado é lido nas sinagogas.
22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with all the church, to send chosen men from them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, Judas having been surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers,
22 Então pareceu bem aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, com toda a igreja, eleger homens dentre eles e enviá-los com Paulo e Barnabé a Antioquia, a saber: Judas, chamado Barsabás, e Silas, homens distintos entre os irmãos.
23 writing by their hand these things: The apostles and the elders and the brothers, to those throughout Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, brothers from the nations: Greeting.
23 E por intermédio deles escreveram o seguinte: Os apóstolos, e os anciãos e os irmãos, aos irmãos dentre os gentios que estão em Antioquia, e Síria e Cilícia, saúde.
24 Since we heard that some of us having gone out have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, Be circumcised and keep the Law, to whom we gave no command;
24 Porquanto ouvimos que alguns que saíram dentre nós vos perturbaram com palavras, e transtornaram as vossas almas, dizendo que deveis circuncidar-vos e guardar a lei, não lhes tendo nós dado mandamento,
25 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to send chosen men to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
25 Pareceu-nos bem, reunidos concordemente, eleger alguns homens e enviá-los com os nossos amados Barnabé e Paulo,
26 men who have given up their souls on behalf of the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
26 Homens que já expuseram as suas vidas pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
27 Therefore, we have sent Judas and Silas, they by word also announcing the same things.
27 Enviamos, portanto, Judas e Silas, os quais por palavra vos anunciarão também as mesmas coisas.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to put not one greater burden on you than these necessary things:
28 Na verdade pareceu bem ao Espírito Santo e a nós, não vos impor mais encargo algum, senão estas coisas necessárias:
29 To hold back from idol sacrifices, and blood, and that strangled, and from fornication; from which continually keeping yourselves, you will do well. Be prospered.
29 Que vos abstenhais das coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos, e do sangue, e da carne sufocada, e da fornicação, das quais coisas bem fazeis se vos guardardes. Bem vos vá.
30 Then they indeed being let go, they went to Antioch. And gathering the multitude, they delivered the letter.
30 Tendo eles então se despedido, partiram para Antioquia e, ajuntando a multidão, entregaram a carta.
31 And reading it , they rejoiced at the comfort.
31 E, quando a leram, alegraram-se pela exortação.
32 And Judas and Silas, themselves also being prophets, exhorted the brothers through much speech, and confirmed them .
32 Depois Judas e Silas, que também eram profetas, exortaram e confirmaram os irmãos com muitas palavras.
33 And continuing for a time, they were let go with peace from the brothers to the apostles.
33 E, detendo-se ali algum tempo, os irmãos os deixaram voltar em paz para os apóstolos;
34 But it seemed good to Silas to remain.
34 Mas pareceu bem a Silas ficar ali.
35 And Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and announcing the gospel, the Word of the Lord, with many others also.
35 E Paulo e Barnabé ficaram em Antioquia, ensinando e pregando, com muitos outros, a palavra do Senhor.
36 And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, Indeed, having turned back, let us look after our brothers throughout every city in which we announced the Word of the Lord, how they are holding it.
36 E alguns dias depois, disse Paulo a Barnabé: Tornemos a visitar nossos irmãos por todas as cidades em que já anunciamos a palavra do Senhor, para ver como estão.
37 But Barnabas purposed to take John with them , the one having been called Mark.
37 E Barnabé aconselhava que tomassem consigo a João, chamado Marcos.
38 But Paul thought it well not to take that one with them , he having withdrawn from them from Pamphylia, and not going with them to the work.
38 Mas a Paulo parecia razoável que não tomassem consigo aquele que desde a Panfília se tinha apartado deles e não os acompanhou naquela obra.
39 Then there was sharp feeling, so as to separate them from each other. And taking Mark, Barnabas sailed away to Cyprus.
39 E tal contenda houve entre eles, que se apartaram um do outro. Barnabé, levando consigo a Marcos, navegou para Chipre.
40 But having chosen Silas, Paul went out, being commended to the grace of God by the brothers
40 E Paulo, tendo escolhido a Silas, partiu, encomendado pelos irmãos à graça de Deus.
41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, making the churches strong.
41 E passou pela Síria e Cilícia, confirmando as igrejas.
