1 How the gold has grown dim, the pure gold has changed. The stones of holiness are scattered at the head of every street.
1 Como o ouro tornou-se turvo! Como está o mais fino ouro modificado! As pedras do santuário estão despejadas no alto de cada rua.
2 The precious sons of Zion weighed against fine gold, how they are thought of as earthen vessels of clay, the work of the potter’s hands.
2 Os preciosos filhos de Sião, comparáveis ao fino ouro, como eles são estimados como jarros de barro, o trabalho das mãos do oleiro!
3 Even the jackal bears the beast and nurses their cubs; but the daughter of my people has become ruthless, like ostriches in the wilderness.
3 Até os monstros marinhos estendem o seio; eles dão de mamar às suas crias; a filha do meu povo tornou-se cruel, como as avestruzes no deserto.
4 The tongue of the nursling cleaves to its palate in thirst. Children beg for food, ⌞no one lays it out before them⌟.
4 A língua da criança que ainda mama adere-se ao céu da boca por causa da sede; as crianças pedem pão, e nenhum homem o parte para elas.
5 The ones who eat delicacies, they are ruined in the streets; the ones nurtured in purple lie on piles of trash.
5 Aqueles que se alimentavam delicadamente estão desolados nas ruas; aqueles que foram criados usando carmesim abraçam estercos.
6 The iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom; it was overthrown in a moment and no hands were laid on her.
6 Pois a punição da iniquidade da filha do meu povo é maior do que a punição do pecado de Sodoma, que foi destruída como em um momento, e nenhuma mão sobre ela permaneceu.
7 Her princes were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk; their bodies were more ruddy than rubies, sapphire their appearance.
7 Os seus nazireus eram mais puros do que a neve, eles eram mais brancos do que o leite, e os seus corpos mais corados do que rubis; o seu polimento era de safira.
8 Now their appearance is blacker than soot, they are not recognized in the streets; their skin has shriveled on their bones, it has become dry like wood.
8 O seu semblante mais negro do que um carvão; eles não são reconhecidos nas ruas; a sua pele adere-se aos seus ossos; está murcha, e torna-se semelhante a uma vara.
9 Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of famine; they have pined away, very hungry for the crops of my field.
9 Aqueles que são mortos pela espada são melhores do que aqueles que são mortos pela fome; pois estes definham, atingidos pela falta dos frutos do campo.
10 The hands of compassionate women, have cooked their children; they became as something to eat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
10 As mãos das mulheres compassivas cozeram os próprios filhos; elas foram a sua carne na destruição da filha do meu povo.
11 Yahweh has completed his anger, he has poured out ⌞his fierce anger⌟; he has kindled a fire in Zion, it consumed her foundations.
11 O SENHOR completou a sua fúria; ele derramou a sua ira violenta e acendeu um fogo em Sião, e isto devorou as suas fundações.
12 The kings of the earth did not believe, and all the inhabitants of the world, that a foe and an enemy could enter into the gates of Jerusalem.
12 Os reis da terra e todos os habitantes do mundo, não acreditavam que o adversário e o inimigo adentrariam os portões de Jerusalém.
13 Because of the sins of her prophets, the guilt of her priests, who shed blood in her midst, of righteous people.
13 Por causa dos pecados dos seus profetas, e das iniquidades dos seus sacerdotes, que derramaram o sangue do justo no meio dela,
14 They wander blindly in the streets; they were defiled with the blood, their clothes could not be touched.
14 eles perambularam como homens cegos nas ruas; eles poluíram-se com sangue, para que os homens não tocassem as suas vestes.
15 “Go away! Defiled!” they shout to them. “Go away! Go away! Do not touch!” so they left, they left; it was said among the nations, “⌞They will no longer dwell with us⌟.”
15 Gritavam-lhes: Afastai-vos, é impuro. Afastai-vos, afastai-vos, não toqueis; quando eles fugiram e andaram errantes, disseram entre os pagãos: Eles não mais morarão ali.
16 The presence of Yahweh has scattered them, he will no longer watch over them; ⌞they did not honor the priests⌟, they did not show mercy to elders.
16 A fúria do SENHOR os dividiu; ele não mais os estimará; eles não respeitaram as pessoas dos sacerdotes, eles não favoreceram os anciãos.
17 Still our eyes failed, looking for our help in vain; in our watchtower, we kept watch for a nation that could not save.
17 Quanto a nós, os nossos olhos até agora falharam por causa de nosso vão auxílio; em nossa vigília, esperamos por uma nação que não pôde nos salvar.
18 They hunted our steps, from walking in our streets; our end has come near, ⌞our days are finished⌟, our end has come.
18 Eles procuram os nossos passos, e nós não podemos ir nas nossas ruas; nosso fim está próximo, nossos dias estão consumados, pois o nosso fim é chegado.
19 Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens; they chased us on the mountains, they have set an ambush for us in the desert.
19 Nossos perseguidores são mais ligeiros do que as águias do céu; eles nos perseguem sobre os montes, eles preparam uma emboscada para nós no deserto.
20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed one of Yahweh, was captured in their pits; of whom we said, “In his shadow we will live among the nations.”
20 O fôlego das nossas narinas, o ungido do SENHOR, foi tomado nas suas covas, de quem nós dissemos: Sob a sua sombra nós viveremos entre os pagãos.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, you who dwell in the land of Uz; but to you also the cup will pass, you will become drunk and strip yourself bare.
21 Regozije-se e alegre-se, ó filha de Edom, que habita na terra de Uz; o cálice também há de passar e chegar a ti; tu estarás embriagada e te desnudarás.
22 The punishment of your iniquity is completed, O daughter of Zion, your exile will not continue; but he will punish your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, he will reveal your sins.
22 A punição de tua iniquidade está consumada, ó filha de Sião; ele não mais te carregará para o cativeiro; ele visitará a tua iniquidade, ó filha de Edom. Ele descobrirá os teus pecados.
