1 How the gold has grown dim, the pure gold has changed. The stones of holiness are scattered at the head of every street.
1 Como se escureceu o ouro! Como se mudou o ouro puro e bom! Como estão espalhadas as pedras do santuário sobre cada rua!
2 The precious sons of Zion weighed against fine gold, how they are thought of as earthen vessels of clay, the work of the potter’s hands.
2 Os preciosos filhos de Sião, avaliados a puro ouro, como são agora reputados por vasos de barro, obra das mãos do oleiro!
3 Even the jackal bears the beast and nurses their cubs; but the daughter of my people has become ruthless, like ostriches in the wilderness.
3 Até os chacais abaixam o peito, dão de mamar aos seus filhos; mas a filha do meu povo tornou-se cruel como os avestruzes no deserto.
4 The tongue of the nursling cleaves to its palate in thirst. Children beg for food, ⌞no one lays it out before them⌟.
4 A língua do que mama fica pegada pela sede ao seu paladar; os meninos pedem pão, e ninguém lho reparte.
5 The ones who eat delicacies, they are ruined in the streets; the ones nurtured in purple lie on piles of trash.
5 Os que comiam comidas finas agora desfalecem nas ruas; os que se criaram em carmesim abraçam monturos.
6 The iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom; it was overthrown in a moment and no hands were laid on her.
6 Porque maior é a iniqüidade da filha do meu povo do que o pecado de Sodoma, a qual foi subvertida como num momento, sem que mãos lhe tocassem.
7 Her princes were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk; their bodies were more ruddy than rubies, sapphire their appearance.
7 Os seus nobres eram mais puros do que a neve, mais brancos do que o leite, mais vermelhos de corpo do que os rubis, e mais polidos do que a safira.
8 Now their appearance is blacker than soot, they are not recognized in the streets; their skin has shriveled on their bones, it has become dry like wood.
8 Mas agora escureceu-se o seu aspecto mais do que o negrume; não são conhecidos nas ruas; a sua pele se lhes pegou aos ossos, secou-se, tornou-se como um pau.
9 Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of famine; they have pined away, very hungry for the crops of my field.
9 Os mortos à espada foram mais ditosos do que os mortos à fome; porque estes morreram lentamente, por falta dos frutos dos campos.
10 The hands of compassionate women, have cooked their children; they became as something to eat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
10 As mãos das mulheres compassivas cozeram seus próprios filhos; serviram-lhes de alimento na destruição da filha do meu povo.
11 Yahweh has completed his anger, he has poured out ⌞his fierce anger⌟; he has kindled a fire in Zion, it consumed her foundations.
11 Deu o Senhor cumprimento ao seu furor; derramou o ardor da sua ira, e acendeu fogo em Sião, que consumiu os seus fundamentos.
12 The kings of the earth did not believe, and all the inhabitants of the world, that a foe and an enemy could enter into the gates of Jerusalem.
12 Não creram os reis da terra, nem todos os moradores do mundo, que entrasse o adversário e o inimigo pelas portas de Jerusalém.
13 Because of the sins of her prophets, the guilt of her priests, who shed blood in her midst, of righteous people.
13 Foi por causa dos pecados dos profetas, das maldades dos seus sacerdotes, que derramaram o sangue dos justos no meio dela.
14 They wander blindly in the streets; they were defiled with the blood, their clothes could not be touched.
14 Vagueiam como cegos nas ruas, andam contaminados de sangue; de tal sorte que ninguém pode tocar nas suas roupas.
15 “Go away! Defiled!” they shout to them. “Go away! Go away! Do not touch!” so they left, they left; it was said among the nations, “⌞They will no longer dwell with us⌟.”
15 Desviai-vos, imundos! gritavam-lhes; desviai-vos, desviai-vos, não toqueis! quando fugiram e também andaram errantes, dizia-se entre os gentios: Nunca mais morarão aqui.
16 The presence of Yahweh has scattered them, he will no longer watch over them; ⌞they did not honor the priests⌟, they did not show mercy to elders.
16 A face indignada do Senhor os espalhou, ele nunca mais tornará a olhar para eles; não respeitaram a pessoa dos sacerdotes, nem se compadeceram dos velhos.
17 Still our eyes failed, looking for our help in vain; in our watchtower, we kept watch for a nation that could not save.
17 Os nossos olhos desfaleciam, esperando o nosso vão socorro; olhávamos atentamente para uma nação que não nos podia livrar.
18 They hunted our steps, from walking in our streets; our end has come near, ⌞our days are finished⌟, our end has come.
18 Espiaram os nossos passos, de maneira que não podíamos andar pelas nossas ruas; está chegado o nosso fim, estão cumpridos os nossos dias, porque é vindo o nosso fim.
19 Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens; they chased us on the mountains, they have set an ambush for us in the desert.
19 Os nossos perseguidores foram mais ligeiros do que as águias dos céus; sobre os montes nos perseguiram, no deserto nos armaram ciladas.
20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed one of Yahweh, was captured in their pits; of whom we said, “In his shadow we will live among the nations.”
20 O fôlego das nossas narinas, o ungido do Senhor, foi preso nas suas covas; dele dizíamos: Debaixo da sua sombra viveremos entre os gentios.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, you who dwell in the land of Uz; but to you also the cup will pass, you will become drunk and strip yourself bare.
21 Regozija-te e alegra-te, ó filha de Edom, que habitas na terra de Uz; o cálice passará também para ti; embebedar-te-ás, e te descobrirás.
22 The punishment of your iniquity is completed, O daughter of Zion, your exile will not continue; but he will punish your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, he will reveal your sins.
22 O castigo da tua maldade está consumado, ó filha de Sião; ele nunca mais te levará para o cativeiro; ele visitará a tua maldade, ó filha de Edom, descobrirá os teus pecados.
