Josué 1

1 After the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh said to Joshua son of Nun, the assistant of Moses, saying,
1 Então, após a morte de Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, sucedeu que o SENHOR falou com Josué, o filho de Num, ministro de Moisés, dizendo:
2 “My servant Moses is dead. Get up and cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the ⌞Israelites⌟.
2 Moisés, o meu servo, está morto; agora, portanto, levanta-te, vai sobre este Jordão, tu e todo este povo, para a terra que eu dou aos filhos de Israel.
3 Every place that the soles of your feet will tread, I have given it to you, as I promised to Moses.
3 Todo o lugar que pisar a sola do teu pé, vo-lo tenho dado, conforme declarei a Moisés.
4 From the wilderness ⌞and the Lebanon⌟, up to the great river, the river Euphrates, all of the land of the Hittites, and up to ⌞the great sea in the west⌟, will be your territory.
4 Desde o deserto e do Líbano até o grande rio, o rio Eufrates, toda a terra dos heteus, e até o grande mar em direção ao poente do sol, será o vosso termo.
5 No one will stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will not fail you, and I will not forsake you.
5 Não haverá homem capaz de permanecer de pé diante de ti, em todos os dias da tua vida; tal como estive com Moisés, assim também estarei contigo; não falharei contigo, tampouco te abandonarei.
6 Be strong and courageous, for you will give the people this land as an inheritance that I swore to their ancestors to give them.
6 Sê forte e de boa coragem, pois para este povo dividirás a terra por herança, a qual jurei aos seus pais que lhes daria.
7 Only be strong and very courageous ⌞to observe diligently the whole law⌟ that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn aside from it, to the right or left, so that you may succeed ⌞wherever you go⌟.
7 Somente sê tu forte e muito corajoso, que tu possas observar e agir de acordo com toda a lei que meu servo Moisés ordenou-te; dela não te desvies nem para a direita, nem para a esquerda, para que possas prosperar por onde quer que fores.
8 The scroll of this law will not depart from your mouth; you will meditate on it day and night so that ⌞you may observe diligently all that is written⌟ in it. For then you will succeed in your ways and prosper.
8 Este livro da lei não se apartará de tua boca; mas nele meditarás dia e noite, a fim de que possas observar e fazer de acordo com tudo o que nele está escrito, porque então farás próspero o teu caminho, e serás bem-sucedido.
9 Did I not command you? Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you ⌞wherever you go⌟.”
9 Não tenho eu te ordenado? Sê forte e de boa coragem; não temas, tampouco fiques desanimado, pois o SENHOR teu Deus é contigo, por onde quer que fores.
10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
10 Então, Josué ordenou aos oficiais do povo, dizendo:
11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people: ‘Prepare your provisions; ⌞in⌟ three days you are to cross the Jordan to go possess the land that Yahweh your God is giving you to possess.’ ”
11 Passai pelo meio do acampamento, e ordenai ao povo, dizendo: Preparai as vossas provisões; pois em três dias atravessareis sobre esse Jordão, para entrardes na posse da terra que vos dá o SENHOR, vosso Deus, para possuí-la.
12 To the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh Joshua said,
12 E falou Josué aos rubenitas, e aos gaditas, e à meia tribo de Manassés, dizendo:
13 “Remember the word that Moses Yahweh’s servant commanded you, saying, ‘Yahweh your God is giving rest to you, and he is giving you this land.’
13 Lembrai da palavra que vos ordenou Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, dizendo: O SENHOR, vosso Deus, vos dá descanso, e vos dá esta terra.
14 Your wives, your little children, and your livestock, they will remain in the land that Moses gave to you beyond the Jordan. ⌞All of the best fighting men⌟ will cross armed in front of your families; they will help you
14 As vossas esposas, os vossos pequenos e o vosso gado, permanecerão na terra que Moisés vos deu neste lado do Jordão; mas vós passareis armados diante dos vossos irmãos, todos os homens fortes e valentes, ajudá-lo-eis;
15 until Yahweh gives rest to your families as well as to you. They will take possession of the land that Yahweh your God is giving to them. Then you will return to your own land and take possession of it, the land that Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you beyond the Jordan ⌞to the east⌟.”
15 até que o SENHOR dê descanso a vossos irmãos, tal como ele tem dado a vós, e eles também possuam a terra que o SENHOR, vosso Deus, lhes-dá; então retornareis à terra da vossa possessão, a qual vos deu Moisés, servo do SENHOR, neste lado do Jordão em direção ao sol nascente, e dela usufruireis.
16 And they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you will send us we will go.
16 E eles responderam a Josué, dizendo: Tudo o que nos ordenaste, faremos, e para onde quer que nos envies, iremos.
17 Just as we obeyed Moses, so will we obey you. Only may Yahweh your God be with you, as he was with Moses.
17 Conforme atentamos a Moisés em todas as coisas, assim também atentaremos a ti; basta que o SENHOR teu Deus seja contigo, como era com Moisés.
18 Whoever ⌞rebels against your orders⌟ and does not obey your words according to what you commanded us will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”
18 Qualquer um que se rebelar contra o teu mandamento, e não atentar às tuas palavras em tudo o que ordenares, será morto; somente sê forte e de boa coragem.
