1 Thus Yahweh said to me: “Go and buy for yourself a loincloth of linen and put it on your loins, but you must not ⌞place⌟ it in water.”
1 Assim me disse o SENHOR: Vai e compra para ti um cinto de linho, e coloque-o sobre teus lombos, e não o coloque em água.
2 So I bought the loincloth according to the word of Yahweh and I put it on my loins.
2 Então eu comprei um cinto conforme a palavra do SENHOR, e o coloquei sobre meus lombos.
3 Now the word of Yahweh came to me a second time, ⌞saying⌟,
3 E a palavra do SENHOR veio até mim pela segunda vez, dizendo:
4 “Take the loincloth that you bought, that is on your loins, and stand up, go to the Euphrates and hide it there in the cleft of the rock.”
4 Toma o cinto que compraste, que está sobre teus lombos, e levanta-te e vai ao Eufrates, e esconde-o lá em um buraco da rocha.
5 So I went and hid it by the Euphrates just as Yahweh had commanded me.
5 Então eu fui, e o escondi próximo ao Eufrates, como o SENHOR me ordenou.
6 ⌞And then⌟, ⌞after a long time⌟, then Yahweh said to me, “Stand up, go to the Euphrates and take from there the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there.”
6 E aconteceu que, depois de muitos dias, que o SENHOR disse para mim: Levanta-te e vai ao Eufrates, e toma dali o cinto que te ordenei esconder ali.
7 Then I went to the Euphrates and I dug, and I took the loincloth from the place where I had hidden it, and look, the loincloth was ruined; it was not good for anything.
7 Então eu fui ao Eufrates, e cavei, e tomei o cinto do lugar onde eu o tinha escondido. E, eis que o cinto estava desfigurado, para nenhuma utilidade ele era proveitoso.
8 ⌞And then⌟ the word of Yahweh came to me, ⌞saying⌟,
8 Então a palavra do SENHOR veio até mim, dizendo:
9 “Thus says Yahweh: ‘So I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
9 Assim diz o SENHOR. Deste modo irei eu desfigurar o orgulho de Judá, e o grande orgulho de Jerusalém.
10 This evil people, who refuse to listen to my words, who go in the stubbornness of their hearts, and have gone after other gods, to serve them, and to bow in worship to them, let them be like this loincloth which is not good for anything.
10 Este povo malvado, que se recusa a ouvir minhas palavras, que anda na imaginação do seu coração, e anda após outros deuses, para servi-los e para adorá-los, serão precisamente como este cinto, que para nada presta.
11 For as the loincloth clings to the loins of a person, so I caused to cling to me all the house of Israel and all the house of Judah,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘to be for me a people, and a name, and a praise, and a glory, but they would not listen.’
11 Pois como o cinto se adere aos lombos de um homem, assim eu fiz aderir-se a mim, a casa inteira de Israel e a casa inteira de Judá, diz o SENHOR, para que eles pudessem ser para mim por um povo, e por um nome, e por um louvor, e por uma glória. Porém eles não deram ouvidos.
12 “Therefore, you shall say to them this word, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: “Every jar must be filled with wine.” ’ And they will say to you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every jar should be filled with wine?’
12 Portanto tu lhes falarás esta palavra: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel. Toda garrafa será preenchida com vinho. E eles te dirão: Não sabemos nós certamente que toda garrafa será preenchida com vinho?
13 Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says Yahweh: “Look, I am about to fill all the inhabitants of this land, and the kings who sit on David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with drunkenness.
13 Então tu lhes dirás: Assim diz o SENHOR. Eis que eu encherei de embriaguez a todos os habitantes desta terra, mesmo os reis que se assentam sobre o trono de Davi, e os sacerdotes, e os profetas, e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém.
14 And I will smash them, each one against his brother, and the fathers and the sons together,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh. “I will not have compassion, and I will not take pity, and I will not show compassion from destroying them.” ’ ”
14 E eu os arremessarei violentamente um contra o outro, até os pais e os filhos juntamente, diz o SENHOR, e não terei piedade, nem pouparei, nem terei misericórdia, porém os destruirei.
15 Listen, and pay attention, you must not be haughty, for Yahweh has spoken.
15 Escutai, e dai ouvido. Não sejais orgulhosos, pois o SENHOR falou.
16 Give glory to Yahweh your God ⌞before⌟ he brings darkness, and ⌞before⌟ your feet stumble on the mountains at twilight. And you will hope for light, but he makes it as gloom, he makes it as thick darkness.
16 Dai glória ao SENHOR vosso Deus, antes que venha escuridão, e antes de vossos pés tropeçarem sobre os montes escuros, e antes que ao procurar por luz, ele a transforme em sombra de morte, e a torne em densa escuridão.
17 But if you will not listen to it, my inner self will weep in secret places, because of ⌞the presence of⌟ your pride. And my eyes will weep bitterly, and they will melt in tears, because the flock of Yahweh has been taken captive.
17 Porém se vós não ouvirdes isto, minha alma irá chorar em esconderijos por causa do vosso orgulho, e meu olho chorará dolorosamente, e se desfará em lágrimas, porque o rebanho do SENHOR foi levado cativo.
18 “Say to the king and to the queen mother, ‘⌞Take a lower seat⌟, for ⌞your beautiful crown⌟ has come down from your head.’
18 Dize ao rei e à rainha: Humilhai-vos, assentai; pois vossos principados irão vir abaixo, até a coroa de vossa glória.
19 The towns of the Negev are shut up, and there is no one who opens them. All of Judah is deported; it is deported in completeness.
19 As cidades do sul serão trancadas, e ninguém as abrirá. Todo Judá será levado cativo, sim, ele será inteiramente levado cativo.
20 Lift up your eyes and see those coming from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, ⌞your magnificent flock⌟?
20 Erguei vossos olhos e observai aqueles que vêm do norte. Onde está o rebanho que te foi dado, teu lindo rebanho?
21 What will you say when he sets over you— and you have taught them—allies as head over you? Will not labor pains take hold of you, like a woman giving birth?
21 O que tu dirás quando ele vier te punir? Pois tu mesmo os ensinaste a ser capitães e chefes sobre ti. Não te tomarão as tristezas, como uma mulher em trabalho de parto?
22 And if you say in your heart, ‘Why have these things happened to me?’ Because of the greatness of your iniquity your skirts are uncovered; your heels have endured violence.
22 E se tu disseres em teu coração, por que razão vêm estas coisas sobre mim? Por causa da imensidão de tua iniquidade são as tuas saias expostas, e teus calcanhares desnudados.
23 Can a Cushite change his skin, or a leopard his spots? Then you also will be able to do good, who are accustomed to doing evil.
23 Pode o etíope mudar a sua pele ou o leopardo as suas manchas? Então podeis vós também fazer o bem, acostumados que estais a fazer o mal.
24 And I will scatter them like stubble scattered by the wind of the desert.
24 Portanto eu os espalharei como o restolho que perece pelo vento do deserto.
25 This is your lot, the portion of your measure from me,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, “because you have forgotten me, and you have trusted in the lie.
25 Este é teu quinhão, a porção que te é medida por mim, diz o SENHOR, porque tu esqueceste de mim, e confiaste em falsidade.
26 So in turn I will bare your skirts over your face, and your shame will become visible.
26 Portanto descobrirei as tuas saias até a tua face, para que tua vergonha possa surgir.
27 Your adulteries, and your neighings, the shameful behavior of your fornications on the hills in the countryside, I have seen your abominations. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! ⌞How long will you continue to be unclean⌟?”
27 Eu vi os teus adultérios, e os teus relinchos, a luxúria da tua prostituição, e tuas abominações sobre as colinas nos campos. Ai de ti, ó Jerusalém! Não te purificarás? Quando será isto?
