1 Hear the word that Yahweh speaks to you, O house of Israel.
1 Ouvi a palavra que o SENHOR vos fala, ó casa de Israel.
2 Thus says Yahweh: “You must not learn the way of the nations, and you must not be dismayed by the signs of the heavens, for the nations are dismayed by them.
2 Assim diz o SENHOR: Não aprendais o caminho do pagão, e não estai consternados aos sinais do céu, pois os pagãos estão consternados por causa deles.
3 For the statutes of the peoples are vanity, for it is a tree cut down from the forest, the work of the hands of a craftsman with the tool.
3 Porquanto os costumes do povo são vãos, pois um corta uma árvore da floresta, obra das mãos do trabalhador, com o machado.
4 He decorates it with silver and gold, they strengthen it with nails and hammers, so that it does not stagger.
4 Eles a adornam com prata e com ouro; eles a firmam com pregos e com martelos, para que não se mova;
5 They are like scarecrows in a cucumber field, they cannot speak. Indeed, they must be carried, for they cannot march. You must not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil; furthermore, to do good is not in them.”
5 estão posicionados como a palmeira, porém não falam. Eles precisam ser carregados, porque não podem andar. Não ficai temerosos por causa deles, porque eles não podem fazer o mal, nem também está neles o fazer o bem.
6 There is none like you, O Yahweh, you are great and your name is great in might.
6 Visto que ninguém há semelhante a ti, ó SENHOR, tu és grande, e teu nome é grande em poder.
7 Who would not revere you, O king of the nations? For you it is fitting. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like you.
7 Quem não temeria a ti, ó Rei das nações? Pois a ti isto pertence. Visto que dentre todos os homens sábios das nações, e em todos os seus reinos, não há ninguém semelhante a ti.
8 ⌞At the same time⌟ they are stupid and foolish, in the instruction of idols, it is wood.
8 Mas todos eles são estúpidos e tolos; o tronco é um ensino de vaidades.
9 Silver beaten from Tarshish is brought, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the craftsman and the hands of the goldsmith. Blue and purple are their clothing, all of them are the work of skillful people.
9 Trazem prata batida de Társis, e ouro de Ufaz, a obra de um trabalhador, e das mãos de um fundidor; vestem-se de azul e púrpura; todos são obra de homens habilidosos.
10 But Yahweh is the true God, he is the living God, and ⌞an everlasting king⌟. Because of his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his anger.
10 Porém o SENHOR é o verdadeiro Deus, ele é o Deus vivo e um Rei eterno. Ao seu furor a terra irá tremer, e as nações não serão capazes de aguentar sua indignação.
11 “⌞Thus⌟ you shall say to them, ‘Gods who did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under these heavens.
11 Deste modo lhes direis: Os deuses que não fizeram os céus e a terra, até eles irão perecer sobre a terra, e de debaixo destes céus.
12 He is the maker of the earth by his power, who created the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding he stretched out heaven.
12 Ele fez a terra pelo seu poder, ele estabeleceu o mundo pela sua sabedoria, e estendeu os céus pelo seu discernimento.
13 ⌞When he utters his voice⌟ there is a noise of water in the heavens, and he causes the mist to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he causes the wind to go out from his storehouses.
13 Quando ele pronuncia sua voz há uma grande quantidade de águas nos céus, e ele faz os vapores subirem desde os confins da terra. Ele faz relâmpagos com chuva, e faz o vento sair dos seus tesouros.
14 ⌞Everyone⌟ is stupid, ⌞without knowledge⌟, every goldsmith is ashamed by his divine image, for his cast image is an illusion, and there is no breath in them.
14 Todo homem é bruto em seu conhecimento; todo fundidor fica perplexo diante da sua imagem esculpida, pois a sua imagem fundida é falsidade, e nelas não existe nenhum fôlego.
15 They are vanity, a work of mockery, at the time of their punishment, they will perish.
15 Elas são vaidade, e a obra de erros. No tempo da visitação, elas perecerão.
16 The portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the creator of everything, and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance, Yahweh of hosts is his name.
16 A porção de Jacó não é semelhante a elas, pois ele é o anterior a todas as coisas, e Israel é a vara da sua herança. O SENHOR dos Exércitos é seu nome.
17 Gather your bundle from the ground, you who live under the siege.’ ”
17 Ajunta da terra a tua mercadoria, ó habitante da fortaleza.
18 For thus says Yahweh, “Look, I am about to sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and I will bring distress to them, so that they may feel it.”
18 Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que desta vez arremessarei, como se fora com uma funda, os habitantes da terra, e os angustiarei, para que venham sentir isto.
19 Woe to me, because of my wound. My wound is incurable. But I said, “Surely this is my sickness, and I must bear it.”
19 Ai de mim por causa da minha ferida! Minha ferida é dolorosa, porém eu disse: Verdadeiramente esta é uma tristeza, e eu tenho que suportá-la.
20 My tent is devastated, and all my tent cords are torn. My children have gone out from me, and they are not. There is no one who pitches my tent again, or one who puts up my tent curtains.
20 Meu tabernáculo está saqueado, e todas as minhas cordas estão rompidas. Meus filhos se vão de mim, e já não existem. Não há mais ninguém para estender minha tenda, e para levantar as minhas cortinas.
21 For the shepherds have become stupid, they do not seek Yahweh. ⌞Therefore⌟ they do not have insight, and all of their flock are scattered.
21 Pois os pastores tornaram-se estúpidos, e não buscaram ao SENHOR. Portanto eles não prosperarão, e todos os seus rebanhos serão espalhados.
22 Listen, news: Look, it is coming, a great roar from the land of the north, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a lair of jackals.
22 Eis que o barulho do rumor é chegado, e um grande tumulto proveniente da região do norte, para fazer as cidades de Judá desoladas, e uma toca de dragões.
23 I know, O Yahweh, that to the human is not his own way, nor to a person is the walking and the directing of his own step.
23 Ó SENHOR, eu sei que o caminho do homem não está nele mesmo; nem encontra-se nele o dirigir dos seus passos.
24 Chastise me, O Yahweh, but in moderation, not in your anger, lest you eradicate me.
24 Ó SENHOR, corrige-me, porém com julgamento, não em tua ira, para que não me reduzas a nada.
25 Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not know you, and on the peoples that do not call on your name, for they have devoured Jacob, they have devoured and consumed him, and they have caused his settlement to be desolate.
25 Derrama a tua fúria sobre o pagão que não conhece a ti, e sobre as famílias que não invocam teu nome, pois eles tragaram a Jacó, e o devoraram, e o consumiram, e desolaram a sua habitação.
