1 Then Job answered and said,
1 Então Jó respondeu:
2 “How you have helped ⌞one who has no power⌟! How you have assisted the arm ⌞that has no strength⌟!
2 “Como você sabe ajudar o que não tem força! Como você sabe socorrer o braço que não tem vigor!
3 How you have advised ⌞one who has no wisdom⌟! And what sound wisdom you have made known ⌞in abundance⌟!
3 Como você sabe aconselhar o que não tem sabedoria e revelar plenitude de verdadeiro conhecimento!
4 ⌞With whose help⌟ have you uttered words, and whose breath has come forth from you?
4 Com a ajuda de quem você profere tais palavras? E de quem é o espírito que fala em você?”
5 “The spirits of the dead tremble below the waters and their inhabitants.
5 “Os mortos tremem debaixo das águas com os seus moradores.
6 Sheol is naked before him, and there is no covering for Abaddon.
6 O mundo dos mortos está desnudo diante de Deus, e não há coberta para o abismo.
7 He stretches out the north over emptiness; he hangs the earth ⌞over nothing⌟.
7 Ele estende o norte sobre o vazio e faz a terra pairar sobre o nada.
8 He ties up the water in its clouds, and the cloud is not torn open beneath it.
8 Prende as águas em densas nuvens, e as nuvens não se rasgam debaixo delas.
9 He covers the face of the full moon; he spreads his cloud over it.
9 Encobre a face do seu trono e sobre ele estende a sua nuvem.
10 ⌞He has described a circle⌟ on the face of the water ⌞between light and darkness⌟.
10 Traçou um círculo sobre a superfície das águas, no limite entre a luz e as trevas.
11 “The pillars of heaven tremble, and they are astounded at his rebuke.
11 As colunas do céu tremem e se espantam diante da sua ameaça.
12 By his power he stilled the sea, and by his understanding he struck down Rahab.
12 Com a sua força dominou o mar e com o seu entendimento despedaçou o monstro Raabe.
13 By his breath ⌞the heavens were made clear⌟; his hand pierced the fleeing snake.
13 Pelo seu sopro o céu se aclarou, a sua mão feriu a serpente veloz.
14 Look, these are the outer fringes of his ways, and ⌞how faint is the word⌟ that we hear of him! But who can understand the thunder of his power?”
14 Eis que isto são apenas as bordas dos seus caminhos! Dele temos ouvido apenas um leve sussurro! Mas o trovão do seu poder, quem o entenderá?”
