1 Thus says Yahweh: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the footstool for my feet. Where is this house that you would build for me? And where is this resting place for me?
1 Assim diz o SENHOR: O céu é meu trono e a terra é meu escabelo. Onde está a casa que vós edificastes para mim? E onde está o lugar do meu descanso?
2 And my hand has made all these things, and all these ⌞came to be⌟,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, “but I look to this one: to the humble and the contrite of spirit and the one frightened at my word.
2 Porque todas estas coisas tem feito a minha mão, e todas aquelas coisas vieram a existir, diz o SENHOR. Todavia, para este homem eu olharei, para aquele que é pobre e de um espírito humilde, e treme diante da minha palavra.
3 The one who slaughters a bull strikes a man; the one who slaughters a lamb for sacrifice breaks the neck of a dog. The one who offers an offering, the blood of swine; the one who offers frankincense blesses an idol. Indeed, they themselves have chosen their ways, and their soul delights in their abhorrence.
3 O que mata um boi é como se ele assassinasse um homem. Aquele que sacrifica um cordeiro, como se ele cortasse o pescoço de um cão. Aquele que oferece uma oblação, como se ele oferecesse sangue de porco. Aquele que queima incenso, como se ele glorificasse um ídolo. Sim, eles têm escolhido os seus próprios caminhos, e suas almas têm prazer nas abominações deles.
4 Indeed, I myself I will choose their ill treatment, and I will bring them objects of their dread, because I called, and ⌞no one answered⌟; I spoke and they did not listen, but they did the evil in my eyes, and they chose that in which I do not delight.”
4 Eu também escolherei as suas ilusões, e trarei os seus temores sobre eles, porque, quando eu chamei ninguém respondeu. Quando falei, eles não ouviram, porém, fizeram o mal perante meus olhos, e escolheram aquilo em que eu não tive prazer.
5 Hear the word of Yahweh, you who are frightened at his word: Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for my name’s sake have said, “Let Yahweh be honored so that we may see your joy!” But they themselves shall be ashamed.
5 Ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, vós que tremeis da sua palavra; vossos irmãos que te odiaram, que te expulsaram por amor do meu Nome, disseram: Deixa o SENHOR ser glorificado. Ele, porém, surgirá para vossa alegria, e eles serão envergonhados.
6 A voice, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of Yahweh ⌞paying back⌟ his enemies!
6 Uma voz de uma ruidosa insurreição desde a cidade; uma voz desde o templo; uma voz do SENHOR que executa retribuição aos seus inimigos.
7 Before she was in labor she gave birth; before labor pains came to her, she gave birth to a son.
7 Antes que ela entrasse em trabalho de parto, ela deu à luz. Antes que a dor lhe sobreviesse, ela deu à luz um menino.
8 Who has heard anything like this? Who has seen anything like these things? Can a land be born in one day? Or can a nation be born in a moment? Yet when she was in labor, Zion indeed gave birth to her children.
8 Quem tem ouvido tal coisa? Quem tem visto tais coisas? Será a terra feita para produzir em um dia? Ou nascerá uma nação? Porque assim que Sião entrou em trabalho de parto, ela deu à luz os seus filhos.
9 Shall I myself I break open and not ⌞deliver⌟?” says Yahweh, “or I who ⌞delivers⌟ lock up the womb?” says your God.
9 Trarei eu até o parto e não farei nascer? Diz o SENHOR. Farei eu dar à luz e fecharei o útero? Diz teu Deus.
10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem and shout in exultation with her, all those who love her! Rejoice with her in joy, all those who mourn over her,
10 Regozijai vós com Jerusalém e sejais felizes com ela, todos vós que a amais. Regozijai-vos com ela por causa da alegria, todos vós que pranteastes por ela.
11 so that you may suck and be satisfied from her ⌞consoling breast⌟, so that you may drink deeply and refresh yourselves from her ⌞heavy breast⌟.”
11 Para que vós possais mamar e ser satisfeitos pelos seios das suas consolações; para que vós possais sugar leite e ser deleitados com a abundância da glória dela.
12 For thus says Yahweh: “Look! I am about to spread prosperity out to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream, and you shall suck and be carried on the hip; and you shall you shall be played with on the knees.
12 Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu irei estender sobre ela a paz como um rio, e a glória dos gentios como um córrego a fluir. Então, vós haveis de mamar; vós sereis carregados nos braços e sobre os joelhos dela sereis embalados alegremente.
13 As a man whose mother comforts him, so I myself will comfort you, and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
13 Como aquele cuja mãe consola, assim eu vos consolarei; e vós sereis consolados em Jerusalém.
14 And you shall see and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall ⌞flourish⌟ like the grass, and the hand of Yahweh shall make itself known ⌞to⌟ his servants, and he shall curse his enemies.
14 E quando vós virdes isto, o vosso coração rejubilará, e vossos ossos reverdecerão como uma pastagem. E a mão do SENHOR se manifestará aos seus servos, e a sua indignação sobre seus inimigos.
15 For look! Yahweh will come in fire, and his chariots like the storm wind, to ⌞give back⌟ his anger in wrath, and his rebuke in flames of fire.
15 Porquanto, eis que o SENHOR virá com fogo, e com suas carruagens como um redemoinho, para executar a sua ira com fúria e a repreensão dele com chamas de fogo.
16 For Yahweh enters into judgment on all flesh with fire and his sword, and ⌞those slain by⌟ Yahweh shall be many.
16 Porque pelo fogo e pela sua espada, o SENHOR pleiteará com toda a carne. E os mortos pelo SENHOR serão muitos.
17 Those who sanctify themselves and those who cleanse themselves ⌞to go into⌟ the gardens after the one in the middle, eating the flesh of swine and detestable things and rodents together shall come to an end!” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
17 Aqueles que se santificam e se purificam nos jardins atrás de alguma árvore, no meio, comendo carne de porco, e a abominação, e o camundongo, serão consumidos juntamente, diz o SENHOR.
18 “And I—their works and thoughts!—am about to come to gather all nations and tongues, and they shall come and see my glory.
18 Porque eu conheço suas obras e seus pensamentos. Virá o dia em que eu reunirei todas as nações e línguas; e elas virão e verão minha glória.
19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow; Tubal and Javan, the faraway coastlands that have not heard of my fame, and have not seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory among the nations,
19 E eu colocarei um sinal entre eles e enviarei aqueles que deles escaparam às nações: para Társis, Pul e Lude, que entesam o arco; para Tubal e Javã; para as ilhas bem de longe, que não têm ouvido minha fama, nem têm visto minha glória. E eles anunciarão minha glória entre os gentios.
20 and bring all your countrymen from all the nations as an offering to Yahweh on horses and chariots and in litters and on mules and camels, to ⌞my holy mountain⌟, Jerusalem,” says Yahweh, “just as the sons of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel to the house of Yahweh.
20 E eles trarão todos os vossos irmãos para uma oferta ao SENHOR, proveniente de todas as nações, sobre cavalos, e em carruagens, e em liteiras, e sobre mulas e sobre dromedários, para o meu santo monte Jerusalém, diz o SENHOR, como os filhos de Israel trazem uma oferta em um vaso limpo à casa do SENHOR.
21 And indeed, I will take some of them as priests and the Levites,” says Yahweh.
21 E eu também tomarei deles para sacerdotes e para levitas, diz o SENHOR.
22 “For just as the new heavens and earth that I am about to make shall stand before me,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, “so shall your descendants and your name stand.
22 Porque, como os novos céus e a nova terra, os quais eu farei, permanecerão perante mim, diz o SENHOR, desta forma vossa semente e o vosso nome permanecerão.
23 And this shall happen: From ⌞new moon to new moon⌟ and from ⌞Sabbath to Sabbath⌟ all flesh shall come to bow in worship before me,” says Yahweh.
23 E acontecerá que, desde uma lua nova a outra, e desde um shabat ao outro, toda carne virá para adorar perante mim, diz o SENHOR.
24 “And they shall go out and look at the corpses of the people ⌞who have rebelled⌟ against me, for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”
24 E eles sairão e verão os cadáveres dos homens que têm transgredido contra mim. Porque o verme deles não morrerá, nem o fogo que os queima será apagado, e eles serão uma repugnância para toda a carne.
