Isaías 48

1 Hear this, house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel and came out from the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Yahweh, and ⌞invoke⌟ the God of Israel, but not in truth and not in righteousness.
1 Ouvi isto, casa de Jacó, que vos chamais pelo nome de Israel e saístes da linhagem de Judá, que jurais pelo nome do Senhor e confessais o Deus de Israel, mas não em verdade nem em justiça.
2 For they call themselves ⌞after the holy city⌟, and they lean on the God of Israel— Yahweh of hosts is his name.
2 (Da santa cidade tomam o nome e se firmam sobre o Deus de Israel, cujo nome é Senhor dos Exércitos.)
3 “I declared the former things from ⌞of old⌟, and they went out from my mouth. And I ⌞announced⌟ them suddenly; I acted, and they came to pass,
3 As primeiras coisas, desde a antiguidade, as anunciei; sim, pronunciou-as a minha boca, e eu as fiz ouvir; de repente agi, e elas se cumpriram.
4 because ⌞I know⌟ that you are obstinate, and your neck an iron sinew, and your forehead bronze.
4 Porque eu sabia que eras obstinado, e a tua cerviz é um tendão de ferro, e tens a testa de bronze.
5 And I declared them to you from of old; I ⌞ announced⌟ them to you before they came to pass so that you would not say, ‘My idol did them, and my image and my cast image commanded them.’
5 Por isso, to anunciei desde aquele tempo e to dei a conhecer antes que acontecesse, para que não dissesses: O meu ídolo fez estas coisas; ou: A minha imagem de escultura e a fundição as ordenaram.
6 You have heard; see it all. And will you not declare it? I ⌞announce⌟ new things to you from this time and hidden things that you have not known.
6 Já o tens ouvido; olha para tudo isto; porventura, não o admites? Desde agora te faço ouvir coisas novas e ocultas, que não conhecias.
7 Now they are created, and not from ⌞of old⌟, and before today, and you have not heard them so that you could not say, “Look! I knew them.”
7 Apareceram agora e não há muito, e antes deste dia delas não ouviste, para que não digas: Eis que já o sabia.
8 Neither have you heard, nor have you known, nor from ⌞of old⌟ has your ear been opened. For I knew you would deal treacherously, very treacherously, and you are called a rebel from the womb.
8 Tu nem as ouviste, nem as conheceste, nem tampouco antecipadamente se te abriram os ouvidos, porque eu sabia que procederias mui perfidamente e eras chamado de transgressor desde o ventre materno.
9 For the sake of my name I ⌞refrain from⌟ my anger, and for my praise I restrain it for you so as not to cut you off.
9 Por amor do meu nome, retardarei a minha ira e por causa da minha honra me conterei para contigo, para que te não venha a exterminar.
10 Look! I have refined you, but not like silver; I have chosen you in the furnace of misery.
10 Eis que te acrisolei, mas disso não resultou prata; provei-te na fornalha da aflição.
11 For my own sake, for my own sake I do it; for why should it be defiled? And I will not give my glory to another.”
11 Por amor de mim, por amor de mim, é que faço isto; porque como seria profanado o meu nome? A minha glória, não a dou a outrem.
12 “Listen to me, Jacob, and Israel, ⌞whom I called⌟: I am he. I am the first; also I am the last.
12 Dá-me ouvidos, ó Jacó, e tu, ó Israel, a quem chamei; eu sou o mesmo, sou o primeiro e também o último.
13 Indeed, my hand founded the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they stand in position together.
13 Também a minha mão fundou a terra, e a minha destra estendeu os céus; quando eu os chamar, eles se apresentarão juntos.
14 Assemble, all of you, and hear! Who among them declared these things? Yahweh loves him; he shall perform his wish against Babylon and his arm against ⌞the Chaldeans⌟.
14 Ajuntai-vos, todos vós, e ouvi! Quem, dentre eles, tem anunciado estas coisas? O Senhor amou a Ciro e executará a sua vontade contra a Babilônia, e o seu braço será contra os caldeus.
15 I, I myself, I have spoken! Indeed, I have called him. I have brought him, and he will be successful in his way.
15 Eu, eu tenho falado; também já o chamei. Eu o trouxe e farei próspero o seu caminho.
16 Draw near to me; hear this! I have not spoken in secrecy from the ⌞beginning⌟; from the time ⌞it came to be⌟, there I have been; And now the Lord Yahweh has sent me and his Spirit.”
16 Chegai-vos a mim e ouvi isto: não falei em segredo desde o princípio; desde o tempo em que isso vem acontecendo, tenho estado lá. Agora, o Senhor Deus me enviou a mim e o seu Espírito.
17 Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the holy one of Israel: “I am Yahweh your God, ⌞who teaches⌟ you to profit, leads you in the way you should go.
17 Assim diz o Senhor , o teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Eu sou o Senhor , o teu Deus, que te ensina o que é útil e te guia pelo caminho em que deves andar.
18 O that you had listened attentively to my commandments! Then your prosperity would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
18 Ah! Se tivesses dado ouvidos aos meus mandamentos! Então, seria a tua paz como um rio, e a tua justiça, como as ondas do mar.
19 And your offspring would have been like the sand, and the descendants of your ⌞body⌟ like its grains. It would not be cut off, and its name would not be destroyed from my presence.”
19 Também a tua posteridade seria como a areia, e os teus descendentes, como os grãos da areia; o seu nome nunca seria eliminado nem destruído de diante de mim.
20 Go out from Babylon! Flee from Chaldea! Proclaim it with a shout of rejoicing; proclaim this! ⌞Send it forth⌟ to the end of the earth; say, “Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob!”
20 Saí da Babilônia, fugi de entre os caldeus e anunciai isto com voz de júbilo; proclamai-o e levai-o até ao fim da terra; dizei: O Senhor remiu a seu servo Jacó.
21 And when he led them through the deserts, they were not thirsty; he made water flow from the rock for them, and he split the rock, and the water gushed out.
21 Não padeceram sede, quando ele os levava pelos desertos; fez-lhes correr água da rocha; fendeu a pedra, e as águas correram.
22 “There is no peace,” says Yahweh, “for the wicked.”
22 Para os perversos, todavia, não há paz, diz o Senhor .
