1 “Comfort; comfort my people,” says your God.
1 Consolai, consolai o meu povo, diz vosso Deus.
2 “Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, that her compulsory labor is fulfilled, that her sin is paid for, that she has ⌞received⌟ from the hand of Yahweh double for all her sins.”
2 Falai agradavelmente a Jerusalém, e gritai-lhe que sua contenda há terminado de forma favorável, que a iniquidade dela está perdoada, porque ela tem recebido da mão do SENHOR o dobro por todos os seus pecados.
3 A voice is calling in the wilderness, “Clear the way of Yahweh! Make a highway smooth in the desert for our God!
3 A voz daquele que clama no deserto: Preparai vós o caminho do SENHOR, fazei reta no deserto uma estrada para nosso Deus.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill shall become low, And the rough ground shall be like a plain, and the rugged ground like a valley-plain.
4 Todo vale será elevado e todo monte e colina será rebaixada; e o torto será feito reto e os lugares ásperos planos.
5 And the glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all ⌞humankind⌟ together shall see it, for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.”
5 E a glória do SENHOR será revelada, e toda carne a verá juntamente, porque a boca do SENHOR tem falado isto.
6 A voice is saying, “Call!” And he said, “What shall I call?” All ⌞humankind⌟ are grass, and all his loyalty is like the flowers of the field.
6 A voz disse: Clama. E ele disse: O que devo eu clamar? Toda carne é erva e toda a sua formosura é como a flor do campo.
7 Grass withers; the flower withers when the breath of Yahweh blows on it. Surely the people are grass.
7 A erva seca, a flor murcha, pois o Espírito do SENHOR sopra sobre ela. Certamente o povo é erva.
8 Grass withers; the flower withers, but the word of our God will stand forever.
8 A erva seca, a flor murcha. Mas a palavra do nosso Deus permanecerá para sempre.
9 ⌞Get yourself⌟ up to a high mountain, Zion, bringer of good news! Lift up your voice with strength, Jerusalem, bringer of good news! Lift it up; you must not fear! Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
9 Ó Sião, que traz boas novas, sobe tu em direção ao alto monte. Ó Jerusalém, que traz boas novas, ergue tua voz com força, ergue-a, não estejas atemorizada. Dize para as cidades de Judá: Eis vosso Deus!
10 Look! The Lord Yahweh comes with ⌞strength⌟, and his arm rules for him. Look! His reward is with him, and his recompense ⌞in his presence⌟.
10 Eis que o Senhor DEUS virá com forte mão, e seu braço governará por ele. Eis que seu galardão está com ele e sua obra o precede!
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arm, and he will carry them in his bosom; he will lead those who nurse.
11 Ele alimentará seu rebanho como um pastor. Ele ajuntará os cordeiros com seu braço e os carregará em seu colo, e conduzirá gentilmente aquelas que estão com cria.
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, comprehended the dust of the earth in a third of a measure and weighed out the mountains in the scales, and the hills in a balance?
12 Quem tem medido as águas na concha de sua mão, e repartido o céu em porções com a palma da mão, e incluído o pó da terra em uma medida, e pesado os montes e as colinas em balanças?
13 Who has measured up the spirit of Yahweh or informed him as ⌞his counselor⌟?
13 Quem tem dirigido o Espírito do SENHOR ou, sendo seu conselheiro, o tem ensinado?
14 With whom has he consulted, that he enlightened him and taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and made the way of understanding known to him?
14 Com quem tomou ele conselho, e quem o instruiu e o ensinou na vereda de juízo, e o ensinou conhecimento e mostrou a ele o caminho de entendimento?
15 Look! The nations are like a drop from a bucket, and they are counted like dust of the balances! Look! He weighs the islands like a thin covering.
15 Eis que as nações são como uma gota de um balde, e são consideradas como o pó fino da balança. Eis que Ele ergue as ilhas como uma coisa muito pequena.
16 And Lebanon is not enough to light a fire, and its animals not enough for a burnt offering.
16 E o Líbano não é suficiente para queimar, nem os animais daquele lugar suficientes para uma oferta queimada.
17 All the nations are like nothing before him; they are counted by him as nothing and emptiness.
17 Todas as nações perante ele são como nada, e para ele elas são consideradas menos do que nada e vaidade.
18 And to whom will you liken God? And to what likeness will you compare him?
18 A quem então vós ireis comparar Deus? A que semelhança ireis compará-lo?
19 A craftsman pours out the idol, and a ⌞goldsmith⌟ overlays it with gold, and he smelts chains of silver.
19 O trabalhador funde uma imagem esculpida, e o ourives a reveste com ouro e molda cadeias de prata.
20 The one who is too impoverished for a gift chooses wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan for himself to set up an image that will not be knocked over.
20 Aquele que é tão empobrecido, que não tem oblação, escolhe uma árvore que não irá apodrecer. Ele busca para si um trabalhador com destreza para preparar uma imagem esculpida que não terá movimento.
21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told to you from the ⌞beginning⌟? Have you not understood from the foundation of the earth?
21 Não tendes vós conhecido? Não tendes vós ouvido? Não vos tem sido contado desde o início? Não tendes vós compreendido desde as fundações da terra?
22 He is the one who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; the one who stretches out the heavens like a veil and spreads them out like a tent to live in,
22 Ele é o que se assenta sobre o círculo da terra e os habitantes desta são como locustas; que distende os céus como uma cortina e os estende como uma tenda para habitar nela.
23 the one who brings princes to nothing; he makes rulers of the earth like nothing.
23 Que reduz os príncipes a nada. Ele torna os juízes da terra como sem valor.
24 Indeed, hardly are they planted; indeed, hardly are they sown; indeed, hardly has their shoot taken root in the earth when he blows on them and they wither, and the tempest carries them like stubble.
24 Sim, eles não serão plantados. Sim, eles não serão semeados. Sim, seu tronco não se enraizará na terra e ele também soprará sobre eles e eles murcharão, e o furacão os removerá como restolho.
25 “And to whom you will compare me, and am I equal?” says the holy one.
25 Diz o Santo: A quem então vós me comparareis ou será igual a mim?
26 Lift your eyes up on high, and see! Who created these? The one who brings out their host by number. He calls all them by name. Because he is great of power and mighty of power, no man is missing.
26 Erguei vossos olhos para o alto e observai quem criou estas coisas, que faz surgir seu exército pelo número. Ele as chama todas pelos nomes, pela grandeza de seu poder, porque ele é forte em poder. Nenhuma deixa de apresentar-se.
27 ⌞Why⌟ do you say, Jacob, and you speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my judgment is passed over by my God?”
27 Por que tu dizes, ó Jacó, e tu falas, ó Israel: Meu caminho está escondido do SENHOR, e meu juízo está omitido do meu Deus?
28 Have you not known, or have you not heard? Yahweh is the God of eternity, the creator of the ends of the earth! He is not faint, and he does not grow weary! There is no searching his understanding.
28 Tu não tens conhecido? Tu não tens ouvido que o eterno Deus, o SENHOR, o Criador dos confins da terra não desfalece, nem está cansado? Não há quem perscrute seu entendimento.
29 He gives power to the weary, and he increases power for ⌞the powerless⌟.
29 Ele dá poder ao desfalecido, e para aqueles que não têm nenhum vigor ele aumenta força.
30 Even young people will be faint and grow weary, and the young will stumble, exhausted.
30 Até os jovens irão desfalecer e estarão cansados, e os homens jovens cairão completamente.
31 But those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength. They shall go up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not be faint.
31 Porém, aqueles que esperam no SENHOR renovarão as suas forças. Eles se elevarão com asas como águias, eles correrão e não estarão cansados, e eles caminharão e não desfalecerão.
