1 And then in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, men from the elders of Israel came to consult Yahweh, and they sat ⌞before me⌟.
1 E aconteceu no sétimo ano, no quinto mês, no décimo dia do mês, que alguns dos anciãos de Israel vieram para inquirir do SENHOR, e sentaram-se diante de mim.
2 And the word of Yahweh ⌞came⌟ to me, ⌞saying⌟,
2 Então, veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:
3 “Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel, and you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Are you coming to consult me? ⌞As I live⌟, I will surely not allow myself to be consulted by you!” ’ ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh.
3 Filho do homem, fala aos anciãos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Viestes para me inquirir? Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor DEUS, eu não serei inquirido por vós.
4 Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Make known to them the detestable things of their ancestors.
4 Tu os julgarás, filho do homem, julgarás tu a eles? Faze-lhes conhecer as abominações de seus pais.
5 And you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “On the day of my choosing Israel ⌞I swore⌟ to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and I made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, and ⌞I swore⌟ to them, ⌞saying⌟, ‘I am Yahweh your God.’
5 E dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: No dia quando eu escolhi a Israel, e levantei a minha mão para a semente da casa de Jacó, e me fiz conhecido àqueles na terra do Egito, quando eu levantei a minha mão para eles, dizendo: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
6 On that day ⌞I swore⌟ to them to bring them out from the land of Egypt to the land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey—it is the most beautiful of all of the lands.
6 No dia em que eu levantei a minha mão para eles, para trazê-los da terra do Egito, para uma terra que eu já tinha descoberto para eles, fluindo leite e mel, que é a glória de todas as terras.
7 Then I said to them, ‘Let each one throw away the detestable things of his eyes, and you must not make yourselves unclean with the idols of Egypt! I am Yahweh your God.’
7 Então, lhes disse: Lançai fora cada homem as abominações de seus olhos, e não vos corrompeis com os ídolos do Egito; eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
8 But they rebelled against me, and they were not willing to listen to me; each one ⌞did not throw away⌟ the detestable things of their eyes; and ⌞they did not abandon⌟ the idols of Egypt, and I decided to pour out my rage on them, to fully vent my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
8 Mas eles rebelaram-se contra mim, e não quiseram me ouvir; eles não lançaram, cada homem, as abominações de seus olhos, nem abandonaram os ídolos do Egito; então eu disse: Eu derramarei minha fúria sobre eles, para concluir minha ira contra eles no meio da terra do Egito.
9 “But I acted for the sake of my name ⌞to keep it from being profaned⌟ before the eyes of the nations ⌞among whom they lived⌟, where I made known to them before their eyes, to bring them out from the land of Egypt.
9 Mas eu forjei por causa do meu nome, para que não fosse poluído diante dos pagãos, no meio dos quais estavam, a cuja vista eu me fiz conhecido por eles, trazendo-os para fora da terra do Egito.
10 And I brought them out from the land of Egypt, and I brought them to the desert,
10 Portanto, eu os fiz sair da terra do Egito, e os trouxe ao deserto.
11 and I gave my statutes to them, and my regulations I made known to them, which, if a person does them, then he will live by them.
11 E eu dei-lhes os meus estatutos, e lhes mostrei os meus juízos, os quais, se um homem cumprir, ele viverá neles.
12 And also my Sabbaths I gave to them to be a sign between me and between them ⌞so they would know⌟ that I, Yahweh, am the one sanctifying them.
12 Além disso, eu também lhes dei os meus shabats, para serem um sinal entre mim e eles; para que eles pudessem saber que eu sou o SENHOR que os santifica.
13 “But in the desert the house of Israel rebelled against me; ⌞they did not walk in my statutes⌟, and they rejected my regulations, which, if a person does them, he will live by them, and they greatly profaned my Sabbaths, and I decided to pour out my rage on them in the desert to destroy them,
13 Mas a casa de Israel se rebelou contra mim no deserto; eles não andaram nos meus estatutos, e desprezaram os meus juízos, o que, se um homem o fizer, ele viverá neles; e os meus shabats poluíram grandemente; então, eu disse que derramaria minha fúria sobre eles no deserto, para os consumir.
14 and I acted for the sake of my name, that it not be profaned before the eyes of the nations ⌞before whom I brought them out⌟.
14 Mas eu forjei por causa do meu nome, para que este não fosse poluído diante dos pagãos, a cuja vista eu os trouxe para fora.
15 And also ⌞I myself swore⌟ to them in the desert not to bring them into the land that I had given to them, flowing with milk and honey—it is the most beautiful of all of the lands—
15 Ainda assim, eu também levantei a minha mão para eles no deserto, para que eu não os trouxesse para a terra, que eu lhes tinha dado, fluindo leite e mel, que é a glória de todas as terras.
16 because they despised my judgments, and ⌞they did not walk in my statutes⌟, and my Sabbaths they profaned, for their heart was going after their idols.
16 Porque eles desprezaram os meus juízos, e não andaram nos meus estatutos, mas poluíram os meus shabats; porque o seu coração ia após os seus ídolos.
17 But my eye took pity on them by not destroying them, and ⌞I did not completely destroy them⌟ in the desert.
17 Todavia, o meu olho lhes poupou de destruí-los, nem fiz um fim deles no deserto.
18 “And I said to their children in the desert, ‘You must not go in the statutes of your parents; you must not keep their regulations, and you must not make yourself unclean with their idols.
18 Mas eu disse a seus filhos no deserto: Não andeis nos estatutos de vossos pais, nem observais os seus juízos, nem vos contamineis com os seus ídolos.
19 I, Yahweh, am your God, so go in my statutes and keep my regulations and do them.
19 Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus; andai nos meus estatutos, e guardai os meus juízos, e executai-os.
20 And treat my Sabbaths as holy, and they will be a sign between me and between you ⌞that you may know⌟ that I, Yahweh, am your God.’
20 E santificai os meus shabats, e eles serão um sinal entre mim e vós, para que possais saber que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
21 But the children rebelled against me; ⌞they did not walk in my statutes⌟, and ⌞they did not observe my regulations⌟, which if a person does them, then he will live by them. My Sabbaths they desecrated, and I decided to pour out my rage on them, to finish my anger against them in the desert.
21 Porém, os filhos se rebelaram contra mim, e eles não andaram nos meus estatutos, nem guardaram os meus juízos para os executar, o que, se um homem o fizer, ele viverá neles; eles poluíram os meus shabats; então, eu disse que derramaria minha fúria sobre eles, para cumprir minha ira contra eles no deserto.
22 But I withheld my hand, and I acted for the sake of my name not to be profaned before the eyes of the nations before whom I had brought them out before their eyes.
22 Todavia, eu retirei a minha mão, e forjei por causa do meu nome, para que não fosse poluído à vista dos pagãos, a cuja vista eu os trouxe adiante.
23 What is more, ⌞I swore⌟ to them in the desert to scatter them among the nations and to disperse them in the lands,
23 Eu também levantei a minha mão para eles no deserto, para que eu os espalhasse entre os pagãos, e os dispersasse pelas nações.
24 because they did not do my regulations, and my statutes they despised, and my Sabbaths they profaned, and their eyes were after the idols of their ancestors.
24 Porque eles não haviam executado os meus juízos, mas desprezado os meus estatutos, e poluído os meus shabats, e os seus olhos estavam atrás dos ídolos de seus pais.
25 And in turn I gave to them rules that were not good and regulations ⌞by which they will not live⌟.
25 Portanto, eu dei-lhes também estatutos que não eram bons, e juízos pelos quais não haviam de viver;
26 And I defiled them through their gifts in sacrificing all of the first offspring of the womb, in order that I will cause them to be stunned, so that they will know that I am Yahweh.
26 e eu os poluí em seus próprios dons, nos quais eles faziam passar pelo fogo tudo o que abre o útero; para que eu pudesse fazê-los desolados, para que, no fim, eles pudessem saber que eu sou o SENHOR.
27 “Therefore speak to the house of Israel, son of man, and you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Again in this your ancestors blasphemed me ⌞at their display of infidelity toward me⌟.” ’
27 Portanto, filho do homem, fala à casa de Israel, e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Ainda assim nisto vossos pais me blasfemaram, e nisso eles cometeram transgressão contra mim.
28 And I brought them to the land that ⌞I swore⌟ to give to them, and they saw every high hill and every leafy tree, and they offered their sacrifices, and they presented there the provocation of their offering, and they gave there their fragrant incense offering, and they poured out their libations there.
28 Pois quando eu os trouxe para a terra, pela qual eu levantei a minha mão, para dá-la a eles, então eles viram toda alta colina, e todas as árvores espessas, e eles ofereceram ali os seus sacrifícios e lá apresentaram a provocação das suas ofertas; ali também eles fizeram seu doce sabor, e ali derramaram as suas ofertas de bebidas.
29 And I said to them, ‘What is the high place to which you are going?’ And ⌞it is called⌟ Bamah until this day.
29 Então, eu lhes disse: O que é o alto lugar para onde vós ides? E seu nome é chamado de Bamá até este dia.
30 Therefore thus say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “In the way of your ancestors will you defile yourself, and after their vile idols will you prostitute yourselves?
30 Portanto, dize à casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Vós estais poluídos segundo a maneira de vossos pais? E cometestes prostituição segundo suas abominações?
31 And ⌞when you lift up your gifts, sacrificing your children⌟ through the fire, you are defiling yourself through all of your idols until ⌞today⌟, and will I let myself be consulted by you, house of Israel?” ’ ⌞As I live⌟,” ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh, “I will not let myself be consulted by you!
31 Pois, quando ofereceis os vossos dons, e fazeis vossos filhos passarem pelo fogo, poluís a vós mesmos com todos os vossos ídolos, até este dia; e eu serei inquirido por vós, ó casa de Israel? Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor DEUS, eu não serei inquirido por vós.
32 And ⌞what you are planning⌟, surely it will not be—that you are saying, ‘Let us be like the nations, like the clans of the lands, ⌞serving wood and stone⌟!’
32 E aquilo que vem à vossa mente de modo algum sucederá, isto que dizei: Nós seremos como os pagãos, como as outras famílias das nações, para servir à madeira e à pedra.
33 “⌞As I live⌟,” ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh, “⌞surely⌟ with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm and with ⌞rage pouring forth⌟ I will reign as king over you!
33 Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor DEUS, certamente que, com mão poderosa, e com braço estendido, e com a fúria derramada, eu governarei sobre vós.
34 And I will bring you from the peoples, and I will gather you from the countries to which you were scattered with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm and with rage poured out.
34 E eu vos trarei para fora dos povos, e vos ajuntarei fora das terras nas quais estais espalhados, com mão poderosa, e com braço estendido, e com fúria derramada.
35 Then I will bring you to the desert of the peoples, and I will execute justice on you there face to face.
35 E eu vos trarei para dentro do deserto do povo; e ali, eu pleitearei convosco face a face.
36 ⌞Just as⌟ I executed justice on your ancestors in the desert of the land of Egypt, likewise I will execute justice on you!” ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh.
36 Como eu pleiteei com vossos pais no deserto da terra do Egito, assim eu pleitearei convosco, diz o Senhor DEUS.
37 “And I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.
37 E eu vos farei passar debaixo da vara, e eu vou trazê-los para o vínculo do pacto.
38 And I will purge the rebels from among you and the ones transgressing against me; I will bring them out from the land ⌞where they are living as aliens⌟, but into the land of Israel they will not come, and then you will know that I am Yahweh.
38 E eu purgarei dentre vós os rebeldes, e aqueles que transgridem contra mim; eu os trarei adiante para fora da nação onde eles permanecem temporariamente, e eles não entrarão na terra de Israel; e vós sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR.
39 And you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Let each one go serve his idols now and after, if you are not listening to me, but ⌞my holy name⌟ you will not profane any longer with your gifts and with your idols.
39 Quanto a vós, ó casa de Israel, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Se a mim não me ouvirdes, de hoje em diante, ide cada um atrás de seus ídolos e sirva-os; mas não poluís mais o meu santo nome com vossos presentes e com vossos ídolos.
40 “For on ⌞my holy mountain⌟, on the mountain of the height of Israel,” ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh, “there all of the house of Israel will serve me, all of them, in the land. I will take pleasure in them, and there I will accept your contributions and the best of your portions with all of your holy objects.
40 Porque no meu santo monte, no monte da altura de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS, ali me servirá toda a casa de Israel, todos eles na terra; ali eu os aceitarei e requererei vossas ofertas, e as primícias das vossas oblações, com todas as vossas coisas santas.
41 I will accept you as ⌞a fragrant incense offering⌟ when I bring you out from the peoples and I gather you from the lands to which you were scattered, and I will show myself holy among you before the eyes of the nations.
41 Eu vos aceitarei com vosso doce cheiro, quando eu vos trouxer para fora dos povos, e vos ajuntar fora das nações por onde estivestes espalhados; e eu serei santificado em vós diante dos pagãos.
42 And you will know that I am Yahweh ⌞when I bring you⌟ to the land of Israel, to the land that ⌞I swore⌟ to give to your ancestors.
42 E vós sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu vos trouxer para dentro da terra de Israel, na terra pela qual eu levantei a minha mão para dá-la a vossos pais.
43 And you will remember there your ways, and all of your deeds ⌞by which you were made unclean⌟, and you will feel a loathing ⌞for yourself⌟ for all of your evils that you have done.
43 E ali vos lembrareis de vossos caminhos, e de todos os vossos feitos com que fostes contaminados, e detestareis a vós mesmos, à vossa própria vista por todos os males que cometestes.
44 And you will know that I am Yahweh ⌞when I deal with you⌟ for the sake of my name and ⌞not according to your evil ways⌟ or ⌞according to⌟ your corrupted deeds, house of Israel,” ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh.
44 E vós sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu tiver forjado para convosco, por causa do meu nome; não de acordo com os vossos caminhos perversos, nem de acordo com as vossas ações corruptas, ó vós casa de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS.
45 And the word of Yahweh ⌞came⌟ to me, ⌞saying⌟,
45 Além disso, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
46 “Son of man, set your face toward the way of the south, and preach to the south, and prophesy against the forest of the territory of the Negev.
46 Filho do homem, coloca a tua face em direção ao sul, e derrama a tua palavra em direção ao sul, e profetiza contra a floresta do campo do sul.
47 And you must say to the forest of the Negev, ‘Hear the word of Yahweh, thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Look! I am kindling against you a fire, and it will devour in you every fresh tree and every dry tree; the blaze of the flame will not be quenched, and all the surfaces from the south to the north will be scorched by it.
47 E dize à floresta do sul: Ouve a palavra do SENHOR: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que eu acenderei um fogo em ti, e ele devorará toda a árvore verde em ti, e toda a árvore seca; a chama flamejante não se apagará, e todas as faces do sul ao norte se queimarão lá.
48 And all creatures will see that I, Yahweh, I kindled it—it will not be quenched!” ’ ”
48 E toda carne verá que eu, o SENHOR, o acendi; isto não se apagará.
49 Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh, they are saying about me, ‘Is he not posing a parable?’ ”
49 Então, disse eu: Ah! Senhor DEUS! Eles dizem de mim: Ele não fala parábolas?
