1 “Amen, amen, I say to you, he who does not enter through the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up by another way, he is a thief and a robber.
1 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: o que não entra pela porta no aprisco das ovelhas, mas sobe por outra parte, esse é ladrão e salteador.
2 But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
2 Aquele, porém, que entra pela porta, esse é o pastor das ovelhas.
3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.
3 Para este o porteiro abre, as ovelhas ouvem a sua voz, ele chama pelo nome as suas próprias ovelhas e as conduz para fora.
4 And when he has sent out his sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
4 Depois de fazer sair todas as que lhe pertencem, vai adiante delas, e elas o seguem, porque lhe reconhecem a voz;
5 But they do not follow a stranger; instead they flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
5 mas de modo nenhum seguirão o estranho; antes, fugirão dele, porque não conhecem a voz dos estranhos.
6 Jesus spoke this proverb to them. But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
6 Jesus lhes propôs esta parábola, mas eles não compreenderam o sentido daquilo que lhes falava.
7 Therefore, Jesus spoke to them again: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep.
7 Jesus, pois, lhes afirmou de novo: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: eu sou a porta das ovelhas.
8 All others, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers, and the sheep did not listen to them.
8 Todos quantos vieram antes de mim são ladrões e salteadores; mas as ovelhas não lhes deram ouvido.
9 I am the door. If anyone has entered through me, he will be saved. And he shall go in and go out, and he shall find pastures.
9 Eu sou a porta. Se alguém entrar por mim, será salvo; entrará, e sairá, e achará pastagem.
10 The thief does not come, except so that he may steal and slaughter and destroy. I have come so that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.
10 O ladrão vem somente para roubar, matar e destruir; eu vim para que tenham vida e a tenham em abundância.
11 I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd gives his life for his sheep.
11 Eu sou o bom pastor. O bom pastor dá a vida pelas ovelhas.
12 But the hired hand, and whoever is not a shepherd, to whom the sheep do not belong, he sees the wolf approaching, and he departs from the sheep and flees. And the wolf ravages and scatters the sheep.
12 O mercenário, que não é pastor, a quem não pertencem as ovelhas, vê vir o lobo, abandona as ovelhas e foge; então, o lobo as arrebata e dispersa.
13 And the hired hand flees, because he is a hired hand and there is no concern for the sheep within him.
13 O mercenário foge, porque é mercenário e não tem cuidado com as ovelhas.
14 I am the good Shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me,
14 Eu sou o bom pastor; conheço as minhas ovelhas, e elas me conhecem a mim,
15 just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for my sheep.
15 assim como o Pai me conhece a mim, e eu conheço o Pai; e dou a minha vida pelas ovelhas.
16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and I must lead them. They shall hear my voice, and there shall be one sheepfold and one shepherd.
16 Ainda tenho outras ovelhas, não deste aprisco; a mim me convém conduzi-las; elas ouvirão a minha voz; então, haverá um rebanho e um pastor.
17 For this reason, the Father loves me: because I lay down my life, so that I may take it up again.
17 Por isso, o Pai me ama, porque eu dou a minha vida para a reassumir.
18 No one takes it away from me. Instead, I lay it down of my own accord. And I have the power to lay it down. And I have the power to take it up again. This is the commandment that I have received from my Father.”
18 Ninguém a tira de mim; pelo contrário, eu espontaneamente a dou. Tenho autoridade para a entregar e também para reavê-la. Este mandato recebi de meu Pai.
19 A dissension occurred again among the Jews because of these words.
19 Por causa dessas palavras, rompeu nova dissensão entre os judeus.
20 Then many of them were saying: “He has a demon or he is insane. Why do you listen him?”
20 Muitos deles diziam: Ele tem demônio e enlouqueceu; por que o ouvis?
21 Others were saying: “These are not the words of someone who has a demon. How would a demon be able to open the eyes of the blind?”
21 Outros diziam: Este modo de falar não é de endemoninhado; pode, porventura, um demônio abrir os olhos aos cegos?
22 Now it was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter.
22 Celebrava-se em Jerusalém a Festa da Dedicação. Era inverno.
23 And Jesus was walking in the temple, in the portico of Solomon.
23 Jesus passeava no templo, no Pórtico de Salomão.
24 And so the Jews surrounded him and said to him: “How long will you hold our souls in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
24 Rodearam-no, pois, os judeus e o interpelaram: Até quando nos deixarás a mente em suspenso? Se tu és o Cristo, dize-o francamente.
25 Jesus answered them: “I speak to you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in the name of my Father, these offer testimony about me.
25 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Já vo-lo disse, e não credes. As obras que eu faço em nome de meu Pai testificam a meu respeito.
26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.
26 Mas vós não credes, porque não sois das minhas ovelhas.
27 My sheep hear my voice. And I know them, and they follow me.
27 As minhas ovelhas ouvem a minha voz; eu as conheço, e elas me seguem.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall not perish, for eternity. And no one shall seize them from my hand.
28 Eu lhes dou a vida eterna; jamais perecerão, e ninguém as arrebatará da minha mão.
29 What my Father gave to me is greater than all, and no one is able to seize from the hand of my Father.
29 Aquilo que meu Pai me deu é maior do que tudo; e da mão do Pai ninguém pode arrebatar.
30 I and the Father are one.”
30 Eu e o Pai somos um.
31 Therefore, the Jews took up stones, in order to stone him.
31 Novamente, pegaram os judeus em pedras para lhe atirar.
32 Jesus answered them: “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
32 Disse-lhes Jesus: Tenho-vos mostrado muitas obras boas da parte do Pai; por qual delas me apedrejais?
33 The Jews answered him: “We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy and because, though you are a man, you make yourself God.”
33 Responderam-lhe os judeus: Não é por obra boa que te apedrejamos, e sim por causa da blasfêmia, pois, sendo tu homem, te fazes Deus a ti mesmo.
34 Jesus responded to them: “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said: you are gods?’
34 Replicou-lhes Jesus: Não está escrito na vossa lei:
35 If he called those to whom the word of God was given gods, and Scripture cannot be broken,
35 Se ele chamou deuses àqueles a quem foi dirigida a palavra de Deus, e a Escritura não pode falhar,
36 why do you say, about him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You have blasphemed,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’
36 então, daquele a quem o Pai santificou e enviou ao mundo, dizeis: Tu blasfemas; porque declarei: sou Filho de Deus?
37 If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe in me.
37 Se não faço as obras de meu Pai, não me acrediteis;
38 But if I do them, even if you are not willing to believe in me, believe the works, so that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
38 mas, se faço, e não me credes, crede nas obras; para que possais saber e compreender que o Pai está em mim, e eu estou no Pai.
39 Therefore, they sought to apprehend him, but he escaped from their hands.
39 Nesse ponto, procuravam, outra vez, prendê-lo; mas ele se livrou das suas mãos.
40 And he went again across the Jordan, to that place where John first was baptizing. And he lodged there.
40 Novamente, se retirou para além do Jordão, para o lugar onde João batizava no princípio; e ali permaneceu.
41 And many went out to him. And they were saying: “Indeed, John accomplished no signs.
41 E iam muitos ter com ele e diziam: Realmente, João não fez nenhum sinal, porém tudo quanto disse a respeito deste era verdade.
42 But all things whatsoever that John said about this man were true.” And many believed in him.
42 E muitos ali creram nele.
