1 And it came to pass, in his being in a certain place praying, as he ceased, a certain one of his disciples said unto him, 'Sir, teach us to pray, as also John taught his disciples.'
1 E aconteceu que, estando ele a orar num certo lugar, quando acabou, lhe disse um dos seus discípulos: Senhor, ensina-nos a orar, como também João ensinou aos seus discípulos.
2 And he said to them, 'When you may pray, say you: Our Father who is in the heavens; hallowed be Your name: Your reign come; Your will come to pass, as in heaven also on earth;
2 E ele lhes disse: Quando orardes, dizei: Pai nosso, que estás nos céus, santificado seja o teu nome; venha o teu reino; seja feita a tua vontade, assim na terra, como no céu.
3 our appointed bread be giving us daily;
3 Dá-nos cada dia o nosso pão cotidiano;
4 and forgive us our sins, for also we ourselves forgive every one indebted to us; and may You not bring us into temptation; but do You deliver us from the evil.'
4 E perdoa-nos os nossos pecados, pois também nós perdoamos a qualquer que nos deve, e não nos conduzas à tentação, mas livra-nos do mal.
5 And he said unto them, 'Who of you shall have a friend, and shall go on unto him at midnight, and may say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves,
5 Disse-lhes também: Qual de vós terá um amigo, e, se for procurá-lo à meia-noite, e lhe disser: Amigo, empresta-me três pães,
6 seeing a friend of mine came out of the way unto me, and I have not what I shall set before him,
6 Pois que um amigo meu chegou a minha casa, vindo de caminho, e não tenho que apresentar-lhe;
7 and he from within answering may say, Do not give me trouble, already the door has been shut, and my children with me are in the bed, I am not able, having risen, to give to you.
7 Se ele, respondendo de dentro, disser: Não me importunes; já está a porta fechada, e os meus filhos estão comigo na cama; não posso levantar-me para tos dar;
8 'I say to you, even if he will not give to him, having risen, because of his being his friend, yet because of his importunity, having risen, he will give him as many as he does need;
8 Digo-vos que, ainda que não se levante a dar-lhos, por ser seu amigo, levantar-se-á, todavia, por causa da sua importunação, e lhe dará tudo o que houver mister.
9 and I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you;
9 E eu vos digo a vós: Pedi, e dar-se-vos-á; buscai, e achareis; batei, e abrir-se-vos-á;
10 for every one who is asking does receive; and he who is seeking does find; and to him who is knocking it shall be opened.
10 Porque qualquer que pede recebe; e quem busca acha; e a quem bate abrir-se-lhe-á.
11 'And of which of you -- the father -- if the son shall ask a loaf, a stone will he present to him? and if a fish, will he instead of a fish, a serpent present to him?
11 E qual o pai de entre vós que, se o filho lhe pedir pão, lhe dará uma pedra? Ou, também, se lhe pedir peixe, lhe dará por peixe uma serpente?
12 and if he may ask an egg, will he present to him a scorpion?
12 Ou, também, se lhe pedir um ovo, lhe dará um escorpião?
13 If, then, you, being evil, have known good gifts to be giving to your children, how much more shall the Father who is from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those asking Him!'
13 Pois se vós, sendo maus, sabeis dar boas dádivas aos vossos filhos, quanto mais dará o Pai celestial o Espírito Santo àqueles que lho pedirem?
14 And he was casting forth a demon, and it was dumb, and it came to pass, the demon having gone forth, the dumb man spake, and the multitudes wondered,
14 E estava ele expulsando um demônio, o qual era mudo. E aconteceu que, saindo o demônio, o mudo falou; e maravilhou-se a multidão.
15 and certain of them said, 'By Beelzeboul, ruler of the demons, he does cast forth the demons;'
15 Mas alguns deles diziam: Ele expulsa os demônios por Belzebu, príncipe dos demônios.
16 and others, tempting, a sign out of heaven from him were asking.
16 E outros, tentando-o, pediam-lhe um sinal do céu.
17 And he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, 'Every kingdom having been divided against itself is desolated; and house against house does fall;
17 Mas, conhecendo ele os seus pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo o reino, dividido contra si mesmo, será assolado; e a casa, dividida contra si mesma, cairá.
18 and if also the Adversary against himself was divided, how shall his kingdom be made to stand? for you say, by Beelzeboul is my casting forth the demons.
18 E, se também Satanás está dividido contra si mesmo, como subsistirá o seu reino? Pois dizeis que eu expulso os demônios por Belzebu.
19 'But if I by Beelzeboul cast forth the demons -- your sons, by whom do they cast forth? because of this your judges they shall be;
19 E, se eu expulso os demônios por Belzebu, por quem os expulsam vossos filhos? Eles, pois, serão os vossos juízes.
20 but if by the finger of God I cast forth the demons, then come unawares upon you did the reign of God.
20 Mas, se eu expulso os demônios pelo dedo de Deus, certamente a vós é chegado o reino de Deus.
21 'When the strong man armed may keep his hall, in peace are his goods;
21 Quando o valente guarda, armado, a sua casa, em segurança está tudo quanto tem;
22 but when the stronger than he, having come uponhim, may overcome him, his whole-armour he does take away in which he had trusted, and his spoils he distributes;
22 Mas, sobrevindo outro mais valente do que ele, e vencendo-o, tira-lhe toda a sua armadura em que confiava, e reparte os seus despojos.
23 he who is not with me is against me, and he who is not gathering with me does scatter.
23 Quem não é comigo é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta, espalha.
24 'When the unclean spirit may go forth from the man it walks through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding, it says, I will turn back to my house whence I came forth;
24 Quando o espírito imundo tem saído do homem, anda por lugares secos, buscando repouso; e, não o achando, diz: Tornarei para minha casa, de onde saí.
25 and having come, it findsit swept and adorned;
25 E, chegando, acha-a varrida e adornada.
26 then does it go, and take to it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and having entered, they dwell there, and the last of that man becomes worst than the first.'
26 Então vai, e leva consigo outros sete espíritos piores do que ele e, entrando, habitam ali; e o último estado desse homem é pior do que o primeiro.
27 And it came to pass, in his saying these things, a certain woman having lifted up the voice out of the multitude, said to him, 'Happy the womb that carried you, and the paps that you did suck!'
27 E aconteceu que, dizendo ele estas coisas, uma mulher dentre a multidão, levantando a voz, lhe disse: Bem-aventurado o ventre que te trouxe e os peitos em que mamaste.
28 And he said, 'Yea, rather, happy those hearing the word of God, and keepingit!'
28 Mas ele disse: Antes bemaventurados os que ouvem a palavra de Deus e a guardam.
29 And the multitudes crowding together upon him, he began to say, 'This generation is evil, a sign it does seek after, and a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet,
29 E, ajuntando-se a multidão, começou a dizer: Maligna é esta geração; ela pede um sinal; e não lhe será dado outro sinal, senão o sinal do profeta Jonas;
30 for as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also shall the Son of Man be to this generation.
30 Porquanto, assim como Jonas foi sinal para os ninivitas, assim o Filho do homem o será também para esta geração.
31 'A queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo, greater than Solomon here!
31 A rainha do sul se levantará no juízo com os homens desta geração, e os condenará; pois até dos confins da terra veio ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão; e eis aqui está quem é maior do que Salomão.
32 'Men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, because they reformed at the proclamation of Jonah; and lo, greater than Jonah here!
32 Os homens de Nínive se levantarão no juízo com esta geração, e a condenarão; pois se converteram com a pregação de Jonas; e eis aqui está quem é maior do que Jonas.
33 'And no one having lighted a lamp, does putit in a secret place, nor under the measure, but on the lamp-stand, that those coming in may behold the light.
33 E ninguém, acendendo uma candeia, a põe em oculto, nem debaixo do alqueire, mas no velador, para que os que entram vejam a luz.
34 'The lamp of the body is the eye, when then your eye may be simple, your whole body also is lightened; and when it may be evil, your body also is darkened;
34 A candeia do corpo é o olho. Sendo, pois, o teu olho simples, também todo o teu corpo será luminoso; mas, se for mau, também o teu corpo será tenebroso.
35 take heed, then, lest the light thatis in you be darkness;
35 Vê, pois, que a luz que em ti há não sejam trevas.
36 if then your whole body is lightened, not having any part darkened, the whole shall be lightened, as when the lamp by the brightness may give you light.'
36 Se, pois, todo o teu corpo é luminoso, não tendo em trevas parte alguma, todo será luminoso, como quando a candeia te ilumina com o seu resplendor.
37 And in his speaking, a certain Pharisee was asking him that he might dine with him, and having gone in, he reclined (at meat),
37 E, estando ele ainda falando, rogou-lhe um fariseu que fosse jantar com ele; e, entrando, assentou-se à mesa.
38 and the Pharisee having seen, did wonder that he did not first baptize himself before the dinner.
38 Mas o fariseu admirou-se, vendo que não se lavara antes de jantar.
39 And the Lord said unto him, 'Now do ye, the Pharisees, the outside of the cup and of the plate make clean, but your inward part is full of rapine and wickedness;
39 E o Senhor lhe disse: Agora vós, os fariseus, limpais o exterior do copo e do prato; mas o vosso interior está cheio de rapina e maldade.
40 unthinking! did not He who made the outside also the inside make?
40 Loucos! Quem fez o exterior não fez também o interior?
41 But what you have give youas alms, and, lo, all things are clean to you.
41 Antes dai esmola do que tiverdes, e eis que tudo vos será limpo.
42 'But woo to you, the Pharisees, because you tithe the mint, and the rue, and every herb, and you pass by the judgment, and the love of God; these things it is beneficial to do, and those not to be neglecting.
42 Mas ai de vós, fariseus, que dizimais a hortelã, e a arruda, e toda a hortaliça, e desprezais o juízo e o amor de Deus. Importava fazer estas coisas, e não deixar as outras.
43 'Woo to you, the Pharisees, because you love the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-places.
43 Ai de vós, fariseus, que amais os primeiros assentos nas sinagogas, e as saudações nas praças.
44 'Woo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you are as the unseen tombs, and the men walking above have not known.'
44 Ai de vós, escribas e fariseus, hipócritas! que sois como as sepulturas que não aparecem, e os homens que sobre elas andam não o sabem.
45 And one of the lawyers answering, said to him, 'Teacher, these things saying, us also you do insult;'
45 E, respondendo um dos doutores da lei, disse-lhe: Mestre, quando dizes isso, também nos afrontas a nós.
46 and he said, 'And to you, the lawyers, woo! because you burden men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves with one of your fingers do not touch the burdens.
46 E ele lhe disse: Ai de vós também, doutores da lei, que carregais os homens com cargas difíceis de transportar, e vós mesmos nem ainda com um dos vossos dedos tocais essas cargas.
47 'Woo to you, because you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
47 Ai de vós que edificais os sepulcros dos profetas, e vossos pais os mataram.
48 Then do you testify, and are well pleased with the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you do build their tombs;
48 Bem testificais, pois, que consentis nas obras de vossos pais; porque eles os mataram, e vós edificais os seus sepulcros.
49 because of this also the wisdom of God said: I will send to them prophets, and apostles, and some of them they shall kill and persecute,
49 Por isso diz também a sabedoria de Deus: Profetas e apóstolos lhes mandarei; e eles matarão uns, e perseguirão outros;
50 that the blood of all the prophets, that is being poured forth from the foundation of the world, may be required from this generation;
50 Para que desta geração seja requerido o sangue de todos os profetas que, desde a fundação do mundo, foi derramado;
51 from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, who perished between the altar and the house; yes, I say to you, It shall be required from this generation.
51 Desde o sangue de Abel, até ao sangue de Zacarias, que foi morto entre o altar e o templo; assim, vos digo, será requerido desta geração.
52 'Woo to you, the lawyers, because you took away the key of the knowledge; yourselves you did not enter; and those coming in, you did hinder.'
52 Ai de vós, doutores da lei, que tirastes a chave da ciência; vós mesmos não entrastes, e impedistes os que entravam.
53 And in his speaking these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began fearfully to urge and to press him to speak about many things,
53 E, dizendo-lhes ele isto, começaram os escribas e os fariseus a apertá-lo fortemente, e a fazê-lo falar acerca de muitas coisas,
54 laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
54 Armando-lhe ciladas, e procurando apanhar da sua boca alguma coisa para o acusarem.
