¹ Hear, O God, my voice when I complain, From dread peril by the foe, wilt thou guard my life.

¹ Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz nas minhas perplexidades; preserva-me a vida do terror do inimigo.

² Wilt thou hide me, From the conclave of evil-doers, From the crowd of workers of iniquity.

² Esconde-me da conspiração dos malfeitores e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniquidade,

³ Who have sharpened, like a sword, their tongue, Have made ready their arrowa bitter word;

³ os quais afiam a língua como espada e apontam, quais flechas, palavras amargas,

⁴ To shoot, in secret places, at the blameless one, Suddenly they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁴ para, às ocultas, atingirem o íntegro; contra ele disparam repentinamente e não temem.

⁵ They strengthen for them a wicked word, They talk of hiding snares, They have said, Who can see them?

⁵ Teimam no mau propósito; falam em secretamente armar ciladas; dizem: Quem nos verá?

⁶ They devise perverse things, They have completed the device well devised, Both the intent of each one, and the mind, are unsearchable.

⁶ Projetam iniquidade, inquirem tudo o que se pode excogitar; é um abismo o pensamento e o coração de cada um deles.

⁷ Once let God have shot at them an arrow, Suddenly have appeared their own wounds!

⁷ Mas Deus desfere contra eles uma seta; de súbito, se acharão feridos.

⁸ When they were to have ruined another, their tongue smote themselves, All who observe them take flight.

⁸ Dessarte, serão levados a tropeçar; a própria língua se voltará contra eles; todos os que os veem meneiam a cabeça.

⁹ Therefore have all men feared,And have told the doing of God, And, his work, have considered.

⁹ E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão as obras de Deus, e entenderão o que ele faz.

¹⁰ The righteous man shall rejoice Yahweh, and seek refuge in him, Then shall gloryall who are upright in heart.

¹⁰ O justo se alegra no Senhor e nele confia; os de reto coração, todos se gloriam.
