1 And it came to pass, in the days when the Judges administered justice, that there was a famine in the land,and so a certain man went his way, out of Bethlehem-judah to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
1 Ora, sucedeu que, nos dias em que os juízes governavam, houve fome na terra. E um certo homem de Belém de Judá foi residir temporariamente na terra de Moabe, ele, sua esposa e seus dois filhos.
2 And, the name of the man, was Elimelech, and, the name of his wife, Naomi, and, the name of his two sons, Mahlon and ChilionEphrathites out of Bethlehem-judah,so they came into the country of Moab, and remained there.
2 E o nome do homem era Elimeleque, e o nome da sua esposa Noemi, e o nome dos seus dois filhos Malom e Quiliom, Efrateus de Belém de Judá. E eles chegaram à terra de Moabe, e ali continuaram.
3 And Elimelech, husband of Naomi, died,and she was left, she and her two sons.
3 E Elimeleque, marido de Noemi, faleceu; e ela foi deixada com os seus dois filhos.
4 And they took them wives, of the women of Moab, the name of the one, was Orpah, and, the name of the other, Ruth,and they dwelt there, about ten years.
4 E eles tomaram para si esposas das mulheres de Moabe; o nome de uma era Orfa, e o nome da outra Rute; e eles habitaram ali por cerca de dez anos.
5 And, they also, both, died, Mahlon and Chilion,so the woman was bereft of her two sons, and of her husband.
5 E Malom e Quiliom também faleceram; e a mulher foi deixada sem os seus dois filhos e marido.
6 Then she arose, she and her daughters-in-law, and returned out of the country of Moab,for she had heard, in the country of Moab, how that Yahweh had visited his people, in giving unto them, bread.
6 Então levantou-se ela com suas duas noras para que pudesse retornar da terra de Moabe, pois ela havia ouvido na terra de Moabe como o SENHOR havia visitado o seu povo, dando-lhes pão.
7 So she went forth out of the dwelling-place where she had remained, and her two daughters-in-law with her,and they went on the way, to return unto the land of Judah.
7 Assim ela saiu do lugar onde estava, junto com suas duas noras; e elas puseram-se a caminho, para retornar à terra de Judá.
8 Then said Naomi to her two daughters-in- law: Go return, each one to the house of her mother,Yahweh deal with you in lovingkindness, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.
8 E Noemi disse às suas duas noras: Ide, cada uma de vós, retornai para a casa da sua mãe; que o SENHOR vos trate com benevolência, como tratastes os mortos, e a mim.
9 Yahweh grant you, that ye may find a place of rest, each one in the house of her husband,And she kissed them, and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
9 Que o SENHOR vos conceda encontrar descanso, cada uma de vós na casa do seu marido. Então, ela as beijou; e elas ergueram a sua voz, e choraram.
10 And they said to her,With thee, will we return, unto thy people.
10 E elas lhe disseram: Certamente retornaremos contigo para o teu povo.
11 Then said NaomiGo back, my daughters! wherefore should ye journey with me? Have I, yet, sons in my womb, that they should become your, husbands?
11 E Noemi disse: Voltai-vos novamente, minhas filhas; por que ireis comigo? Há ainda mais filhos em meu ventre, para que possam ser vossos maridos?
12 Go back, my daughters, go your way, for I am too old to have a husband,If I should say, I have, hope, if I should, even to-night have a husband, and should, even bear sons,
12 Voltai-vos novamente, minhas filhas, segui vosso caminho; pois sou velha demais para ter um marido. Se eu dissesse: Tenho esperança, se eu também tivesse marido nesta noite, e ainda tivesse filhos;
13 would ye, therefore, tarry until they were grown? would ye, therefore, shut yourselves up from having husbands? Nay! my daughters, for it is far more bitter for me than for you, that forth hath gone against me, the hand of Yahweh.
13 vós aguardaríeis por eles até que estivessem crescidos? Guardar-vos-íeis para eles sem tomar marido? Não, minhas filhas; por isso entristece-me muito que por vossa causa a mão do SENHOR tenha saído contra mim.
14 And they lifted up their voice and wept, yet more. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in- law, but, Ruth, clave unto her.
14 E elas ergueram a voz, e voltaram a chorar; e Orfa beijou sua sogra; mas Rute agarrou-se a ela.
15 And she saidLo! thy sister-in-law hath gone back, unto her people, and unto her gods,go thou back, after thy sister-in-law.
15 E ela disse: Eis que a tua cunhada voltou para o seu povo, e para os seus deuses; retorna tu após a tua cunhada.
16 And Ruth saidDo not urge me to leave thee, to go back from following thee,for, whither thou goest, I will go, and, where thou lodgest, I will lodge, thy people, shall be my people, and, thy God, my God;
16 E Rute disse: Não me supliques para te deixar, ou para deixar de te seguir; pois para onde fores, eu irei; e onde te alojares, eu me alojarei; o teu povo será o meu povo, e o teu Deus, o meu Deus;
17 where thou diest, I will die, and, there, will I be buried: So, let Yahweh do to me, and, so, let him add, if, death itself, part me and thee.
17 onde morreres, eu morrerei, e ali serei sepultada; que faça-me assim o SENHOR, e ainda mais, se algo que não a morte me separar de ti.
18 And, when she saw that, bravely determined, was she to go with her, she ceased entreating her.
18 Quando viu que estava firmemente decidida a ir com ela, deixou de lhe falar.
19 So, they two, went their way, until they entered Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they entered Bethlehem, that all the city was moved concerning them, and the women saidIs this Naomi?
19 Assim, as duas seguiram até chegarem a Belém. E sucedeu que, quando chegaram a Belém, toda a cidade ficou comovida com elas, e disseram: Não é esta Noemi?
20 And she said unto them, Do not call me Naomi,call me Mara, for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me: \fs15
20 E ela lhes disse: Não me chameis de Noemi, mas me chamai de Mara; pois o Todo-poderoso tem tratado mui amargamente para comigo.
21 I was full when I departed, but, empty, am I brought back of Yahweh,wherefore should ye call me Naomi, when, Yahweh, hath given answer against me, and, the Almighty, hath crushed me?
21 Saí cheia, e o SENHOR me trouxe de volta para casa vazia: por que então me chamais de Noemi, vendo que o SENHOR testifica contra mim, e o Todo-Poderoso tem me afligido?
22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, with her, who returned out of the country of Moab,and, they, entered Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
22 Então Noemi retornou, e com ela Rute, a moabita, sua nora, as quais retornaram da terra de Moabe; e vieram para Belém, no início da colheita da cevada.
