1 And it came to pass, when Jesus ended all these words, he said unto his disciples:
1 Tendo dito essas coisas, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos:
2 Ye know that, after two days, the passover, taketh place,and, the Son of Man, is to be delivered up, to be crucified.
2 "Como vocês sabem, estamos a dois dias da Páscoa, e o Filho do homem será entregue para ser crucificado".
3 Then, were gathered together, the High-priests and the Elders of the people, into the court of the High-priest who was called Caiaphas;
3 Naquela ocasião os chefes dos sacerdotes e os líderes religioso do povo se reuniram no palácio do sumo sacerdote, cujo nome era Caifás,
4 and they took counsel together, in order that, Jesus, by guile, they might secure, and slay.
4 e juntos planejaram prender Jesus à traição e matá-lo.
5 They were saying, however: Not during the feast, lest, an uproar, arise among the people.
5 Mas diziam: "Não durante a festa, para que não haja tumulto entre o povo".
6 But, Jesus, happening to be in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
6 Estando Jesus em Betânia, na casa de Simão, o leproso,
7 there came unto him a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of costly perfume, and she poured it down upon his head, as he was reclining.
7 aproximou-se dele uma mulher com um frasco de alabastro contendo um perfume muito caro. Ela o derramou sobre a cabeça de Jesus, quando ele se encontrava reclinado à mesa.
8 And the disciples, seeing it, were greatly displeased, sayingTo what end, this loss?
8 Os discípulos, ao verem isso, ficaram indignados e perguntaram: "Por que este desperdício?
9 For this could have been sold for much, and given to the destitute.
9 Este perfume poderia ser vendido por alto preço, e o dinheiro dado aos pobres".
10 But Jesus, taking note, said unto themWhy vex ye the woman? for, a seemly work, hath she wrought for me;
10 Percebendo isso, Jesus lhes disse: "Por que vocês estão perturbando essa mulher? Ela praticou uma boa ação para comigo.
11 For, always, the destitute, have ye with you,but, me, not always, have ye;
11 Pois os pobres vocês sempre terão consigo, mas a mim vocês nem sempre terão.
12 For, she, pouring this perfume upon my body, so as to prepare me for burial, did it.
12 Quando derramou este perfume sobre o meu corpo, ela o fez a fim de me preparar para o sepultamento.
13 Verily, I say unto youWheresoever this glad-message shall be proclaimed in all the world, also what she did, will be told, as a memorial of her.
13 Eu lhes asseguro que onde quer que este evangelho for anunciado, em todo o mundo, também o que ela fez será contado, em sua memória".
14 Then, went one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, unto the High-priests,
14 Então, um dos Doze, chamado Judas Iscariotes, dirigiu-se aos chefes dos sacerdotes
15 and saidWhat are ye willing to give unto me? and, I, unto you, will deliver him up. And they appointed him thirty pieces of silver.
15 e lhes perguntou: "O que me darão se eu o entregar a vocês? " E eles lhe fixaram o preço: trinta moedas de prata.
16 And, from that time, was he seeking a favourable opportunity that he might, deliver him up.
16 Desse momento em diante Judas passou a procurar uma oportunidade para entregá-lo.
17 And, on the first of the days of unleavened bread, the disciples came unto Jesus, sayingWhere wilt thou, that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?
17 No primeiro dia da festa dos pães sem fermento, os discípulos dirigiram-se a Jesus e lhe perguntaram: "Onde queres que preparemos a refeição da Páscoa? "
18 And, he, saidGo your way into the city, unto such-a-one, and say to him, The teacher, saith, My season, is, near, with thee, will I keep the passover, with my disciples.
18 Ele respondeu dizendo que entrassem na cidade, procurassem um certo homem e lhe dissessem: "O Mestre diz: ‘O meu tempo está próximo. Vou celebrar a Páscoa com meus discípulos em sua casa".
19 And the disciples did, as Jesus directed them, and made ready the passover.
19 Os discípulos fizeram como Jesus os havia instruído e prepararam a Páscoa.
20 And, when, evening, came, he was reclining with the twelve disciples ;
20 Ao anoitecer, Jesus estava reclinado à mesa com os Doze.
21 and, as they were eating, he saidVerily, I say unto you, One from among you, will deliver me up.
21 E, enquanto estavam comendo, ele disse: "Digo-lhes que certamente um de vocês me trairá".
22 And, being exceedingly grieved, they began to be saying to him, each oneCan it be, I, Lord?
22 Eles ficaram muito tristes e começaram a dizer-lhe, um após outro: "Com certeza não sou eu, Senhor! "
23 And, he, answering, saidHe who hath dipped with me his hand in the bowl, the same, will deliver me up.
23 Afirmou Jesus: "Aquele que comeu comigo do mesmo prato há de me trair.
24 The Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, according as it is written concerning him,But alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man, is being delivered up: Well, had it been for him, if, that man, had not been born!
24 O Filho do homem vai, como está escrito a seu respeito. Mas ai daquele que trai o Filho do homem! Melhor lhe seria não haver nascido".
25 And Judas, who was delivering him up, answering, saidCan it be, I, Rabbi? He saith unto himThou, hast said.
25 Então, Judas, que haveria de traí-lo, disse: "Com certeza não sou eu, Mestre! " Jesus afirmou: "Sim, é você".
26 And, as they were eating, Jesus, taking a loaf and blessing, brake,and, giving to his disciples, saidTake, eat! This, is, my body.
26 Enquanto comiam, Jesus tomou o pão, deu graças, partiu-o, e o deu aos seus discípulos, dizendo: "Tomem e comam; isto é o meu corpo".
27 And, taking a cup, and giving thanks, he gave unto them, sayingDrink of it, all of you;
27 Em seguida tomou o cálice, deu graças e o ofereceu aos discípulos, dizendo: "Bebam dele todos vocês.
28 For, this, is my blood of the covenant, which, for many, is to be poured out, for remission of sins.
28 Isto é o meu sangue da aliança, que é derramado em favor de muitos, para perdão de pecados.
29 Moreover, I say unto youIn nowise, will I drink, henceforth, of this produce of the vine, until that day, whensoever I shall drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
29 Eu lhes digo que, de agora em diante, não beberei deste fruto da videira até aquele dia em que beberei o vinho novo com vocês no Reino de meu Pai".
30 And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
30 Depois de terem cantado um hino, saíram para o monte das Oliveiras.
31 Then, Jesus saith unto themAll ye, will find cause of stumbling in me, during this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep of the flock, will be scattered abroad;
31 Então Jesus lhes disse: "Ainda esta noite todos vocês me abandonarão. Pois está escrito: ‘Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas do rebanho serão dispersas’.
32 But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
32 Mas, depois de ressuscitar, irei adiante de vocês para a Galiléia".
33 Now Peter, answering, said unto himThough, all, shall find cause of stumbling in thee, I, shall never find cause of stumbling.
33 Pedro respondeu: "Ainda que todos te abandonem, eu nunca te abandonarei! "
34 Jesus saith unto him: Verily, I say unto theeDuring this night, before a cock crow, Thrice, wilt thou deny me.
34 Respondeu Jesus: "Asseguro-lhe que ainda esta noite, antes que o galo cante, três vezes você me negará".
35 Peter saith unto him: Even though it be needful for me, with thee to die, in nowise, will I deny thee. Likewise, all the disciples also, said.
35 Mas Pedro declarou: "Mesmo que seja preciso que eu morra contigo, nunca te negarei". E todos os outros discípulos disseram o mesmo.
36 Then Jesus cometh with them, into a place called Gethsemane,and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.
36 Então Jesus foi com seus discípulos para um lugar chamado Getsêmani e disse-lhes: "Sentem-se aqui enquanto vou ali orar".
37 And, taking with him, Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be grieved and to be in great distress.
37 Levando consigo Pedro e os dois filhos de Zebedeu, começou a entristecer-se e a angustiar-se.
38 Then, saith he unto them: Encompassed with grief, is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching with me.
38 Disse-lhes então: "A minha alma está profundamente triste, numa tristeza mortal. Fiquem aqui e vigiem comigo".
39 And, going forward a little, he fell upon his face, offering prayer, and sayingMy Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from me,Nevertheless, not as, I, will, but as, thou, wilt.
39 Indo um pouco mais adiante, prostrou-se com o rosto em terra e orou: "Meu Pai, se for possível, afasta de mim este cálice; contudo, não seja como eu quero, mas sim como tu queres".
40 And he cometh unto his disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and said unto PeterThus, powerless are ye, one hour, to watch with me?
40 Então, voltou aos seus discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. "Vocês não puderam vigiar comigo nem por uma hora? ", perguntou ele a Pedro.
41 Be watching and praying, that ye may not enter into temptation: The spirit, indeed, is, eager, but, the flesh, weak.
41 "Vigiem e orem para que não caiam em tentação. O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca".
42 Again, a second time, departing he prayed, saying: My Father! If it is impossible for this to pass, except I, drink, it, Accomplished, be, thy will.
42 E retirou-se outra vez para orar: "Meu Pai, se não for possível afastar de mim este cálice sem que eu o beba, faça-se a tua vontade".
43 And coming, he, again, found them sleeping, for their eyes had become heavy.
43 Quando voltou, de novo os encontrou dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados.
44 And, leaving them, he, again, departed, and prayed a third time, the same word, saying again.
44 Então os deixou novamente e orou pela terceira vez, dizendo as mesmas palavras.
45 Then, cometh he unto the disciples, and saith unto them,Ye are sleeping what time remaineth, and taking your rest: Lo! the hour hath drawn near, and, the Son of Man, is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
45 Depois voltou aos discípulos e lhes disse: "Vocês ainda dormem e descansam? Chegou a hora! Eis que o Filho do homem está sendo entregue nas mãos de pecadores.
46 Arise! let us be going,Lo! he that delivereth me up, hath drawn near.
46 Levantem-se e vamos! Aí vem aquele que me trai! "
47 And, while, yet, he was speaking, lo! Judas, one of the twelve, came, and, with him, a large multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and Elders of the people.
47 Enquanto ele ainda falava, chegou Judas, um dos Doze. Com ele estava uma grande multidão armada de espadas e varas, enviada pelos chefes dos sacerdotes e líderes religiosos do povo.
48 And, he who was delivering him up, gave them a sign, sayingWhomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is,secure him.
48 O traidor havia combinado um sinal com eles, dizendo-lhes: "Aquele a quem eu saudar com um beijo, é ele; prendam-no".
49 And, straightway, coming unto Jesus, he saidJoy to thee! Rabbi, and eagerly kissed him.
49 Dirigindo-se imediatamente a Jesus, Judas disse: "Salve, Mestre! ", e o beijou.
50 But, Jesus, said unto himFriend! wherefore art thou here? Then, coming forward, they thrust their hands upon Jesus, and secured him.
50 Jesus perguntou: "Amigo, que é que o traz? " Então os homens se aproximaram, agarraram Jesus e o prenderam.
51 And lo! one of those with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, grasped his sword, and smiting the servant of the High-priest, cut off his ear.
51 Um dos que estavam com Jesus, estendendo a mão, puxou a espada e feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha.
52 Then, Jesus saith unto himPut back thy sword into its place, for, all they who take a sword, by a sword, shall perish.
52 Disse-lhe Jesus: "Guarde a espada! Pois todos os que empunham a espada, pela espada morrerão.
53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot call upon my Father, and he will set near me, even now, more than twelve legions of messengers?
53 Você acha que eu não posso pedir a meu Pai, e ele não colocaria imediatamente à minha disposição mais de doze legiões de anjos?
54 How then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that, thus, it must needs come to pass?
54 Como então se cumpririam as Escrituras que dizem que as coisas deveriam acontecer desta forma? "
55 In that hour, said Jesus unto the multitudes: As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me? Daily in the temple, used I to sit teaching, and ye secured me not;
55 Naquela hora Jesus disse à multidão: "Estou eu chefiando alguma rebelião, para que vocês venham prender-me com espadas e varas? Todos os dias eu estava ensinando no templo, e vocês não me prenderam!
56 But, this, hath, wholly, come to pass, that, the Scriptures of the prophets, may be fulfilled. Then, the disciples, all forsaking him, fled.
56 Mas tudo isso aconteceu para que se cumprissem as Escrituras dos profetas". Então todos os discípulos o abandonaram e fugiram.
57 And, they who secured Jesus, led him away unto Caiaphas the High-priest, where the Scribes and the Elders gathered themselves together.
57 Os que prenderam Jesus o levaram a Caifás, o sumo sacerdote, em cuja casa se haviam reunido os mestres da lei e os líderes religiosos.
58 Now, Peter, was following him afar off, unto the court of the High-priest,and, entering within, was sitting with the attendants, to see the end.
58 Mas Pedro o seguiu de longe até o pátio do sumo sacerdote, entrou e sentou-se com os guardas, para ver o que aconteceria.
59 Now, the High-priests and all the High-council, were seeking false-witness against Jesus, that they might, put him to death;
59 Os chefes dos sacerdotes e todo o Sinédrio estavam procurando um depoimento falso contra Jesus, para que pudessem condená-lo à morte.
60 and found not any, though many came forward as false-witnesses. At length, however, there came forward, two,
60 Mas nada encontraram, embora se apresentassem muitas falsas testemunhas. Finalmente se apresentaram duas
61 and said: This, man saidI am able to pull down the shrine of God, and, in three days, to, build, it.
61 que declararam: "Este homem disse: ‘Sou capaz de destruir o santuário de Deus e reconstruí-lo em três dias’ ".
62 And the High-priest, arising, said unto himNothing, answerest thou? What are these, against thee bearing witness?
62 Então o sumo sacerdote levantou-se e disse a Jesus: "Você não vai responder à acusação que estes lhe fazem? "
63 But, Jesus, was silent. And, the High-priest, said unto him: I put thee on oath, by the Living God, that, to us, thou sayWhether, thou, art the Christ, the Son of God.
63 Mas Jesus permaneceu em silêncio. O sumo sacerdote lhe disse: "Exijo que você jure pelo Deus vivo: se você é o Cristo, o Filho de Deus, diga-nos".
64 Jesus saith unto him: Thou, hast said; Moreover, I say unto youHereafter, ye will see the Son of Man, sitting on the right hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
64 "Tu mesmo o disseste", respondeu Jesus. "Mas eu digo a todos vós: chegará o dia em que vereis o Filho do homem assentado à direita do Poderoso e vindo sobre as nuvens do céu".
65 Then, the High-priest rent asunder his garments, sayingHe hath spoken profanely! What further need have we, of witnesses? Lo! now, ye have heard the profanity!
65 Foi quando o sumo sacerdote rasgou as próprias vestes e disse: "Blasfemou! Por que precisamos de mais testemunhas? Vocês acabaram de ouvir a blasfêmia.
66 How, to you, doth it seem? And, they, answering, said: Guilty of death, he is.
66 Que acham? " "É réu de morte! ", responderam eles.
67 Then, spat they into his face, and buffeted him; and, others, struck him smartly,
67 Então alguns lhe cuspiram no rosto e lhe deram murros. Outros lhe davam tapas
68 sayingProphesy unto us, O Christ! Who is he that struck thee?
68 e diziam: "Profetize-nos, Cristo. Quem foi que lhe bateu? "
69 Now, Peter, was sitting without, in the court; and there came unto him a certain female servant, sayingThou also, wast with Jesus, the Galilaean.
69 Pedro estava sentado no pátio, e uma criada, aproximando-se dele, disse: "Você também estava com Jesus, o galileu".
70 But, he, denied before all, sayingI know not what thou sayest.
70 Mas ele o negou diante de todos, dizendo: "Não sei do que você está falando".
71 And, when he went out into the porch, another female saw him, and said unto them who were thereThis, one was with Jesus the Nazarene.
71 Depois, saiu em direção à porta, onde outra criada o viu e disse aos que estavam ali: "Este homem estava com Jesus, o Nazareno".
72 And, again, he denied, with an oathI know not the man.
72 E ele, jurando, o negou outra vez: "Não conheço esse homem! "
73 And, after a little, the by-standers, coming forward, said unto Peter: Truly, thou also, art, from among them, for, thy very speech, maketh thee, manifest.
73 Pouco tempo depois, os que estavam por ali chegaram a Pedro e disseram: "Certamente você é um deles! O seu modo de falar o denuncia".
74 Then, began he to be cursing and swearingI know not the man! And, straightway, a cock crowed.
74 Aí ele começou a se amaldiçoar e a jurar: "Não conheço esse homem! " Imediatamente um galo cantou.
75 And Peter was put in mind of the declaration of Jesus, of his having saidBefore a cock crow, thrice, wilt thou utterly deny me; and, going forth outside, he wept bitterly.
75 Então Pedro se lembrou da palavra que Jesus tinha dito: "Antes que o galo cante, você me negará três vezes". E, saindo dali, chorou amargamente.
