Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs BKJ
1 Then did Joshua son of Nun, send out from The Acacias, two men to spy out silently, saying, Go view the land, and Jericho. So they came, and entered the house of a harlot, whose name was Rahab, and lay there.
1 E Josué, o filho de Num, enviou desde Sitim dois homens para espionarem secretamente, dizendo: Ide e olhai a terra, e Jericó. E eles foram, e entraram na casa de uma prostituta, chamada Raabe, e ali se alojaram.
2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying,Lo! men, have come in hither to-night of the sons of Israel to search out the land.
2 E foi dito ao rei de Jericó: Eis que esta noite vieram para cá homens dos filhos de Israel para espiar a região.
3 So the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying,Bring forth the men that are come in unto thee who have entered thy house, for, to search out all the land, have they come.
3 E o rei de Jericó enviou a Raabe, dizendo: Apresenta os homens que vieram a ti, os quais entraram na tua casa, pois eles vieram para espiar toda região.
4 And the woman took the two men and hid them,and said: Even so, the men did come in unto me, but I knew not from whence they were;
4 E a mulher tomou os dois homens e os escondeu, e assim disse: Vieram homens até mim, mas eu não sabia de onde eles eram;
5 and it came to pass, as the gate was about to be shut in the darkness, that, the men, went out, I know not whither the men went,pursue them quickly for ye shall overtake them.
5 e sucedeu que, na hora do fechamento da porta, quando já estava escuro, que os homens saíram; não sei para onde os homens foram, persegue-os depressa; porque os alcançarás.
6 But, she, had taken them up to the roof,and concealed them with the stalks of flax which she had laid in order for herself upon the roof.
6 Só que ela os havia levado ao telhado da casa, e os escondido com caules de linho, os quais ela colocara em ordem sobre o telhado.
7 So, the men, pursued them by way of the Jordan unto the fords,the gate being shut as soon as they who pursued them had gone forth.
7 E os homens os perseguiram no caminho do Jordão até os vaus; e logo que se foram os que perseguiam, eles fecharam a porta.
8 And, ere yet they slept, she, went up unto them, upon the roof;
8 E antes que eles estivessem deitados, ela subiu até eles no telhado;
9 and said unto the men, I know that Yahweh hath given unto you the land,and that the terror of you hath fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land, have melted away, from before you.
9 e ela disse aos homens: Eu sei que o SENHOR vos deu a terra, e que o seu terror nos sobreveio, e que todos os habitantes da terra desfalecem por causa de vós.
10 For we have heard how Yahweh, dried up, the waters of the Red Sea from before you, when ye came forth out of Egypt,and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites who were over the Jordan unto Sihon and unto Og, whom ye devoted to destruction;
10 Pois temos ouvido como o SENHOR secou as águas do mar Vermelho para vós, quando saístes do Egito; e o que fizestes aos dois reis dos amorreus, que estavam do outro lado do Jordão: Seom e Ogue, aos quais destruístes.
11 and, when we heard, then did our heart melt, and there rose up no longer any spirit in any man because of you,for, as for Yahweh your God, he, is Godin the heavens above, and upon the earth beneath.
11 Assim que ouvimos estas coisas, derreteu-se o nosso coração, nem restou mais coragem em qualquer dos homens, por causa de vós; pois o SENHOR, vosso Deus, ele é Deus em cima no céu e embaixo na terra.
12 Now, therefore I pray you, swear unto me by Yahweh, since I have dealt with you in lovingkindness, that, ye also, will deal with the house of my father in lovingkindness, and will give me a token of faithfulness,
12 Por isso, então, rogo-vos, jurai diante de mim pelo SENHOR, posto que vos demonstrei bondade, que vós também demonstrareis bondade para com a casa de meu pai, e dai-me um sinal verdadeiro;
13 and will save alive my father and my mother, and my brethren and my sisters, and all that they have,and will deliver our souls from death.
13 e que vós conservareis vivo o meu pai, e a minha mãe, e os meus irmãos, e as minhas irmãs, e tudo o que eles possuem, e que livrarás da morte as nossas vidas.
14 And the men said unto her, Our souls in your stead unto death, if ye utter not this our business,so shall it be, when Yahweh shall give us the land, that we will deal with thee in lovingkindness and in faithfulness.
14 E os homens lhe responderam: A nossa vida pela sua vida, se vós não falardes deste nosso negócio. E assim será quando o SENHOR nos tiver dado a terra, agiremos com bondade e verdade para contigo.
15 And she let them down with a cord through the window,for, her house, was within the wall of the rampart, and, within the rampart, she was dwelling.
15 Então, ela os desceu por uma corda através da janela, pois a sua casa ficava sobre o muro da cidade, e ela morava sobre o muro.
16 And she said unto themTo the mountain, get you, lest the pursuers, fall in, with you,and hide yourselves there, three days until the pursuers return, and, afterwards, shall ye go your way.
16 E disse-lhes: Ide-vos para o monte, para que os perseguidores não vos encontrem; e lá vos escondeis por três dias, até que tenham retornado os perseguidores, e depois disso, podereis seguir o vosso caminho.
17 And the men said unto her,Free, will we be from this thine oath which thou hast made us swear:
17 E os homens lhe disseram: Nós seremos inocentes deste teu juramento que tu nos fizeste jurar.
18 Lo! when we are coming into the land, this cord of crimson thread, must thou bind in the window by which thou didst let us down, and, thy father and thy mother and thy brethren and all the household of thy father, must thou gather together unto thee unto the house.
18 Eis que, quando adentrarmos a terra, tu atarás esta corda de fio escarlate na janela pela qual tu nos desceste; e trarás o teu pai, e a tua mãe, e os teus irmãos, e toda a casa do teu pai para a tua morada.
19 And it shall be, whosoever shall go forth out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood, shall be on his own head and, we, shall be free,but, whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood, shall be on our heads, if a, hand, be upon him.
19 E assim será, quem quer que sair das portas da tua casa para a rua, o seu sangue estará sobre a sua cabeça, e nós seremos inocentes; e todo aquele que estiver contigo na casa, o seu sangue estará sobre a nossa cabeça, se qualquer mão se lançar sobre ele.
20 Or, if thou utter this our business, then shall we be free from this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.
20 E caso tu fales deste nosso negócio, então, estaremos desobrigados do juramento que tu nos fizeste jurar.
21 And she saidAccording to your words, so, shall it be. Thus sent she them away and they departed,and she bound the crimson cord in the window.
21 E ela disse: Conforme as vossas palavras, assim o seja. E os enviou, e eles partiram, e ela atou a corda escarlate na janela.
22 And they went and came into the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers had returned,so the pursuers, made search, throughout all the way, but found them not.
22 E eles foram, e chegaram ao monte, e ali permaneceram por três dias, até que retornaram os seus perseguidores; e os perseguidores os procuraram ao longo de todo o caminho, mas não os encontraram.
23 And the two men returned and came down out of the mountain, and crossed over and came unto Joshua, son of Nun,and recounted to him all that had befallen them;
23 Assim, os dois homens retornaram, e desceram do monte, e atravessaram, e vieram até Josué, filho de Num, e lhe contaram todas as coisas que lhes sobrevieram.
24 and they said unto Joshua, Yahweh, hath delivered, into our hand all the land,moreover also all the inhabitants of the land, have melted away, from before us.
24 E eles disseram a Josué: Verdadeiramente o SENHOR tem entregado nas nossas mãos toda a terra; pois todos os habitantes da região desfalecem diante de nós.
