1 Thou. therefore take up a dirge, for the prince of Israel;
1 Além disso, leva tu para cima a lamentação pelos príncipes de Israel,
2 and thou shalt say How was thy mother a lioness, Between lions, she lay down,- I n the midst of young lions, She nourished her whelps;
2 e dize: O que é a tua mãe? Uma leoa; ela se deita entre os leões, ela nutriu seus filhotes entre os jovens leões.
3 And she reared up one of her whelps A young lion, he became, And he learned to rend prey. Men, he devoured.
3 E ela trouxe um de seus filhotes, ele se tornou um jovem leão, e aprendeu a apanhar a presa, e devorou homens.
4 Then nations heard of him. In their pit, was he caught, So they brought him with hooks. Into the land of Egypt.
4 As nações também ouviram sobre ele; ele foi tomado em sua cova, e eles o trouxeram com correntes até a terra do Egito.
5 And she saw she had waited Lost was her hope, Then took she another of her whelps. A young lion, she made him.
5 Agora, quando ela viu que tinha esperado, e que sua esperança estava perdida, então ela tomou outro de seus filhotes, e fez dele um jovem leão.
6 Yea he went to and fro amidst lions A young lion, he became,- And he learned to rend prey. Men, he devoured;
6 E, ele foi para cima e para baixo entre os leões, se tornou um jovem leão, e aprendeu a apanhar a presa, e devorou homens.
7 And he injured b his widows, And their cities, laid waste,- And deserted was the land and its fulness, At the noise of his roaring.
7 E ele conheceu os seus palácios assolados, e devastou as suas cidades; e a terra foi assolada, e a sua plenitude, pelo barulho do seu rugido.
8 Then set upon him the nations round about. From the provinces,- And spread over him their net In their pit, was he caught;
8 Então, as nações se juntaram contra ele em cada lado das províncias, e estenderam sua rede sobre ele, e foi apanhado na cova deles.
9 And they put him in a cage with hooks, And brought him to Babylons king, They brought him into strong-holds, That his noise might be heard no more Among the mountains of Israel.
9 E eles o puseram em custódia em correntes, e o trouxeram ao rei de Babilônia; trouxeram-no dentro de fortificações, para que sua voz não mais fosse ouvida sobre os montes de Israel.
10 Thy mother like a vine of thy vineyard, By waters, was planted, Fruitful and full of branches, she became By reason of waters abundant;
10 Tua mãe é como uma videira no teu sangue, plantada junto às águas; ela foi frutífera e cheia de ramos por causa das muitas águas.
11 And they served her as staves of power For the sceptres of rulers, And high became the stature thereof With its interwoven foliage,- And it was seen by its height, By its multitude of branches.
11 E, ela tinha varas fortes para os cetros daqueles que governavam, e sua estatura foi exaltada entre os grossos ramos, e ela apareceu na sua altura com a multidão dos seus ramos.
12 Then was she uprooted in indignation To the ground, was she east, And an east wind, dried up her fruit,Broken off and withered were her staves of power, A fire, devoured them.
12 Mas ela foi arrancada com fúria, foi lançada ao chão, e o vento leste secou o seu fruto; suas fortes varas se quebraram e murcharam, o fogo as consumiu.
13 Now, therefore, is she planted in a desert, -In a land parched and dry;
13 E, agora ela está plantada no deserto, em um chão seco e sedento.
14 And there hath gone forth a fire out of her staves of rods. Her fruit, hath it devoured, And there is in her no staff of power. As a sceptre to bear rule. A dirge, it is, and hath been made a dirge.
14 E o fogo saiu de uma vara dos seus ramos, que devorou seu fruto, para que ela não mais tenha vara forte para ser um cetro para dominar. Esta é a lamentação, e servirá de lamentação.
