Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs ARA
1 Now, when these things were ended, the rulers drew near unto me, saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not kept themselves separate from the peoples of the lands,in view of their abominations-even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites;
1 Acabadas, pois, estas coisas, vieram ter comigo os príncipes, dizendo: O povo de Israel, e os sacerdotes, e os levitas não se separaram dos povos de outras terras com as suas abominações, isto é, dos cananeus, dos heteus, dos ferezeus, dos jebuseus, dos amonitas, dos moabitas, dos egípcios e dos amorreus,
2 for they have taken of their daughters, for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have intermingled themselves among the peoples of the lands,and, the hand of the rulers and the deputies, hath, in this unfaithfulness, been, foremost.
2 pois tomaram das suas filhas para si e para seus filhos, e, assim, se misturou a linhagem santa com os povos dessas terras, e até os príncipes e magistrados foram os primeiros nesta transgressão.
3 When I heard this thing, I rent my garment, and my robe,and tore out of the hair of my head and my beard, and sat stunned.
3 Ouvindo eu tal coisa, rasguei as minhas vestes e o meu manto, e arranquei os cabelos da cabeça e da barba, e me assentei atônito.
4 Then, unto me, were gathered, all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel, concerning the unfaithfulness of them who had been exiled,but, I, sat stunned, until the evening gift.
4 Então, se ajuntaram a mim todos os que tremiam das palavras do Deus de Israel, por causa da transgressão dos do cativeiro; porém eu permaneci assentado atônito até ao sacrifício da tarde.
5 And, at the evening gift, I arose from mine affliction, which had been accompanied by the rending of my garment and my robe,and I bowed upon my knees, and spread forth my hands unto Yahweh my God;
5 Na hora do sacrifício da tarde, levantei-me da minha humilhação, com as vestes e o manto já rasgados, me pus de joelhos, estendi as mãos para o Senhor , meu Deus,
6 and said, O my God, I turn pale and am ashamed, to lift up, O my God, my face unto thee,for, our iniquities, have multiplied above the head, and our guilt hath magnified itself unto the heavens.
6 e disse: Meu Deus! Estou confuso e envergonhado, para levantar a ti a face, meu Deus, porque as nossas iniquidades se multiplicaram sobre a nossa cabeça, e a nossa culpa cresceu até aos céus.
7 Since the days of our fathers, we, have been in great guilt, until this day,and, for our iniquities, have we been given upwe, our kings, our priests,into the hand of the kings of the lands, by sword and by captivity and by spoiling and by a turning pale of face, as at this day.
7 Desde os dias de nossos pais até hoje, estamos em grande culpa e, por causa das nossas iniquidades, fomos entregues, nós, os nossos reis e os nossos sacerdotes, nas mãos dos reis de outras terras e sujeitos à espada, ao cativeiro, ao roubo e à ignomínia, como hoje se vê.
8 And, now, for a very little moment, hath come favour from Yahweh our God, in leaving to us a remnant to escape, and in giving to us a nail in his holy place,that our God may enlighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
8 Agora, por breve momento, se nos manifestou a graça da parte do Senhor , nosso Deus, para nos deixar alguns que escapem e para dar-nos estabilidade no seu santo lugar; para nos alumiar os olhos, ó Deus nosso, e para nos dar um pouco de vida na nossa servidão;
9 For, bondmen, we are, but, in our bondage, hath our God not forsaken us,but extended unto us lovingkindness before the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up on high the house of our God, to raise up the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
9 porque somos servos, porém, na nossa servidão, não nos desamparou o nosso Deus; antes, estendeu sobre nós a sua misericórdia, e achamos favor perante os reis da Pérsia, para nos reviver, para levantar a casa do nosso Deus, para restaurar as suas ruínas e para que nos desse um muro de segurança em Judá e em Jerusalém.
10 But, now, what can we say, O our God, after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
10 Agora, ó nosso Deus, que diremos depois disto? Pois deixamos os teus mandamentos,
11 which thou didst command by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying, As for the land which, ye, are entering to possess, an impure land, it is, with the impurity of the peoples of the lands,with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to the other, with their uncleanness.
11 que ordenaste por intermédio dos teus servos, os profetas, dizendo: A terra em que entrais para a possuir é terra imunda pela imundícia dos seus povos, pelas abominações com que, na sua corrupção, a encheram de uma extremidade à outra.
12 Now, therefore, your daughters, do not ye give to their sons, and, their daughters, do not ye take for your sons, neither shall ye seek their prosperity nor their pleasure unto times age-abiding,to the end ye may become strong, and may eat the good of the land, and may suffer your children to possess I, unto times age-abiding.
12 Por isso, não dareis as vossas filhas a seus filhos, e suas filhas não tomareis para os vossos filhos, e jamais procurareis a paz e o bem desses povos; para que sejais fortes, e comais o melhor da terra, e a deixeis por herança a vossos filhos, para sempre.
13 And, after all that hath come upon us, for our wicked doings, and for our great guiltFor, thou, O our God, hast spared us, punishing us less than our iniquities deserved, and hast given us a deliverance such as this,
13 Depois de tudo o que nos tem sucedido por causa das nossas más obras e da nossa grande culpa, e vendo ainda que tu, ó nosso Deus, nos tens castigado menos do que merecem as nossas iniquidades e ainda nos deste este restante que escapou,
14 should we again break thy commandments and join ourselves by affinity of marriage with the peoples of these abominations,wouldst thou not be angry with us, unto a full end, that there should be neither remainder nor deliverance?
14 tornaremos a violar os teus mandamentos e a aparentar-nos com os povos destas abominações? Não te indignarias tu, assim, contra nós, até de todo nos consumires, até não haver restante nem alguém que escapasse?
15 O Yahweh, God of Israel, righteous thou art, for we have had left us a deliverance as at this day,here we are, before thee, in our guilty deeds, for there is no standing before thee, because of this thing!
15 Ah! Senhor , Deus de Israel, justo és, pois somos os restantes que escaparam, como hoje se vê. Eis que estamos diante de ti na nossa culpa, porque ninguém há que possa estar na tua presença por causa disto.
