1 At that time, said Yahweh unto meCut thee out two tables of stone like the first, and come up unto me into the mountain,and make thee an ark of wood;
1 “Naquela ocasião, o S enhor me disse: ‘Corte duas tábuas de pedra, como as anteriores. Faça também uma arca de madeira e suba ao monte para encontrar-se comigo,
2 that I may write, upon the tables, the words which were on the first tables which thou brakest in pieces,then shalt thou put them in the ark.
2 e eu escreverei nas tábuas as mesmas palavras que estavam nas anteriores, aquelas que você despedaçou. Em seguida, coloque as tábuas na arca’.
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut out two tables of stone like the first,and went up the mountain, having the two tables in my hand.
3 “Fiz, portanto, a arca de madeira de acácia e cortei duas tábuas de pedra, como as anteriores. Subi ao monte levando as tábuas na mão.
4 And he wrote upon the tables according to the first writingthe ten words, which Yahweh had spoken unto you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire in the day of the convocation,and Yahweh delivered them unto me.
4 Mais uma vez, o S enhor escreveu os dez mandamentos nas tábuas e as entregou a mim. Eram as mesmas palavras que o S enhor lhes tinha proclamado do meio do fogo no dia em que vocês se reuniram ao pé do monte.
5 Then turned I, and came down out of the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made,and they have remained there, as Yahweh commanded me.
5 Então virei-me, desci o monte e coloquei as tábuas na arca da aliança que eu tinha feito. As tábuas ainda estão dentro da arca, conforme o S enhor me ordenou.
6 And, the sons of Israel, set forward out of Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah,there, died Aaron and was buried there, and Eleazar his son became priest in his stead.
6 (Os israelitas saíram dos poços do povo de Jacã e viajaram para Moserá, onde Arão morreu e foi sepultado. Eleazar, seu filho, serviu como sacerdote em seu lugar.
7 From thence, set they forward unto the Gudgodah,and from the Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of torrents of water.
7 Em seguida, viajaram para Gudgodá e, de lá, para Jotbatá, terra com muitos ribeiros.
8 At that time, did Yahweh separate the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Yahweh,to stand before Yahweh to wait upon him and to bless in his name (until this day).
8 Naquela ocasião, o S enhor separou a tribo de Levi para carregar a arca da aliança do S enhor e para estar diante do S enhor , a fim de servi-lo e de pronunciar bênçãos em seu nome. Essas são suas responsabilidades até hoje.
9 For this cause, hath Levi neither portion nor inheritance with his brethren,Yahweh, is his inheritance, as Yahweh thy God spake unto him.
9 Por isso os levitas não têm porção alguma de terra como herança entre seus irmãos israelitas. O próprio S enhor é sua herança, conforme o S enhor , seu Deus, lhes prometeu.)
10 But, I, stayed in the mountain according to the former days, forty days and forty nights,and Yahweh hearkened unto me at that time also, Yahweh was not willing a to destroy thee.
10 “Quanto a mim, fiquei no monte, na presença do S enhor , quarenta dias e quarenta noites, como da primeira vez. E, também dessa vez, o S enhor ouviu minhas súplicas e concordou em não destruí-los.
11 So then Yahweh said unto me, Up with theeto break away onward, before the people,that they may enter in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers, to give unto them.
11 Então o S enhor me disse: ‘Levante-se, siga viagem e guie o povo, para que entrem e tomem posse da terra que jurei dar a seus antepassados’.”
12 Now, therefore, O Israel, what is, Yahweh thy God, asking of thee,but to revere Yahweh thy God to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul:
12 “Agora, Israel, o que o S enhor , seu Deus, requer de você? Somente que você tema o S enhor , seu Deus, que viva de maneira agradável a ele e que ame e sirva ao S enhor , seu Deus, de todo o coração e de toda a alma.
13 to keep the commandments of Yahweh and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day,for thy good?
13 Obedeça sempre aos mandamentos e decretos do S enhor que hoje lhe dou para o seu próprio bem.
14 Lo! unto Yahweh thy God, belong the heavens even the highest heavens,the earth, with all that is therein.
14 “Veja, os mais altos céus e a terra, e tudo que nela há, pertencem ao S enhor , seu Deus.
15 Only unto thy fathers, Yahweh became attached so as to love them,therefore made he choice of their seed after themof youout of all the peoples, (as at this day).
15 E, no entanto, o S enhor escolheu seus antepassados para amá-los, e escolheu vocês, descendentes deles, dentre todas as nações, como hoje se vê.
16 Therefore must ye circumcise the foreskin of your hearts,and your necks, must ye stiffen no more.
16 Portanto, submetam-se a ele de coração e deixem de ser teimosos.
17 For as touching Yahweh your God, he, is God of gods, and Lord of lords; the great the mighty, and the fearful GOD, who respecteth not persons, nor accepteth a bribe;
17 “Pois o S enhor , seu Deus, é Deus dos deuses e Senhor dos senhores. É o grande Deus, o Deus poderoso e temível, que não mostra parcialidade e não aceita subornos.
18 executing the vindication of the orphan and the widow,and loving sojourner, giving him food and raiment.
18 Ele faz justiça aos órfãos e às viúvas. Ama os estrangeiros que vivem entre vocês e lhes dá alimento e roupas.
19 Therefore shall ye love the sojourner,for sojourners, became ye in the land of Egypt.
19 Portanto, amem também os estrangeiros, pois, em outros tempos, vocês foram estrangeiros na terra do Egito.
20 Yahweh thy God, shalt thou revere, Him, shalt thou serve,And unto him, shalt thou cleave, And in his name, shalt thou swear.
20 Temam o S enhor , seu Deus, sirvam-no e apeguem-se a ele. Quando fizerem juramentos, jurem somente pelo nome dele.
21 He, is thy song of praise, And, he, thy God,who hath done with thee these great and fearful things, which thine own eyes have seen.
21 Somente ele é seu Deus, o único digno de seu louvor, aquele que, por vocês, fez os milagres poderosos que vocês viram com os próprios olhos.
22 As seventy souls, went thy fathers down to Egypt,and, now, Yahweh thy God hath made thee like the stars of the heavens for multitude.
22 Quando seus antepassados desceram até o Egito, eram apenas setenta pessoas. Agora, porém, o S enhor , seu Deus, os tornou tão numerosos quanto as estrelas do céu!”
