1 Ye masters! that which is just and equitable, unto your servants, be rendering, knowing that, ye also, have a Master in heaven.
1 Senhores, tratai vossos servos com justiça e igualdade. Sabeis perfeitamente que também vós tendes um Senhor no céu.
2 Unto prayer, be devoting yourselves, watching therein with thanksgiving:
2 Sede perseverantes, sede vigilantes na oração, acompanhada de ações de graças.
3 Praying, at the same time, for us also,that, God, would open unto us a door for the word, so that we may speak the sacred secret of the Christfor the sake of which also I am in bonds,
3 Orai também por nós. Pedi a Deus que dê livre curso à nossa palavra para que possamos anunciar o mistério de Cristo. É por causa deste mistério que estou preso.
4 That I may make it manifest as behoveth me to speak.
4 Possa eu fazê-lo conhecido, como é meu dever.
5 In wisdom, be walking towards them who are without,the opportunity, buying out for yourselves,
5 Procedei com sabedoria no trato com os de fora. Sabei aproveitar todas as circunstâncias.
6 Your discourse being always with benefit, with salt, seasoned,that ye may know how it behoveth you, unto each one, to be making answer.
6 Que as vossas conversas sejam sempre amáveis, temperadas com sal, e sabei responder a cada um devidamente.
7 All the things which relate unto myself, shall Tychicus make known unto youthe beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord,
7 Quanto ao que me concerne, o caríssimo irmão Tíquico, ministro fiel e companheiro no Senhor, vos informará de tudo.
8 Whom I have sent unto you, to this very end,that ye may get to know the things which concern us, and he may encourage you hearts:
8 Eu vo-lo envio para este fim, para que conheçais nossa situação e console os vossos corações.
9 Together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is from among you:all things, unto you, will they make known, that here.
9 Ele vai juntamente com Onésimo, nosso caríssimo e fiel irmão, conterrâneo vosso. Ambos vos informarão de tudo o que aqui se passa.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow-captive, saluteth you; and Mark, the first cousin of Barnabas,concerning whom ye have received commandsif he come unto you, give him welcome;
10 Saúda-vos Aristarco, meu companheiro de prisão, e Marcos, primo de Barnabé, a respeito do qual já recebestes instruções. {Se este for ter convosco, acolhei-o bem.}
11 And Jesus, he that is called Justus,they being of the circumcision; these only, fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, men who have been, unto me, a comfort.
11 Também Jesus, chamado o Justo, vos saúda. São os únicos da circuncisão que trabalham comigo no Reino de Deus. Eles se têm tornado a minha consolação.
12 Epaphras who is from among you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you,at all times, contending in your behalf in his prayers, that ye may be caused to stand complete and fully assured in everything willed by God;
12 Saúda-vos Epafras, vosso concidadão, servo de Jesus Cristo. Ele não cessa de lutar por vós em suas orações, para que, numa perfeita e plena convicção, permaneçais plenamente submissos à vontade divina.
13 For I bear him witness, that he hath great toil in behalf of you, and them in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
13 Posso assegurar-vos que muito trabalha por vós e pelos que estão em Laodicéia e em Hierápolis.
14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, salute you.
14 Saúda-vos Lucas, o caríssimo médico, e Demas.
15 Salute ye the brethren, in Laodicea, also Nymphas, and the assembly, which meeteth at her house.
15 Saudai os irmãos de Laodicéia, como também a Ninfas e a igreja que está em sua casa.
16 And, as soon as the epistle hath been read amongst you, cause that, in the assembly of Laodiceans also, it be read; and, that from Laodicea, that, ye also, read.
16 Uma vez lida esta carta entre vós, fazei com que ela o seja também na igreja dos laodicenses. E vós, lede a de Laodicéia.
17 And say to Archippus: be taking heed unto the ministry which thou hast accepted in the Lord,that, the same, thou fulfil.
17 Finalmente, dizei a Arquipo: Vê bem o ministério que recebeste em nome do Senhor, e desempenha-o plenamente.
18 The salutation of me Paul, with my own hand:keep in mind my bonds. Favour be with you!
18 Minha saudação, de próprio punho: PAULO. Lembrai-vos das minhas cadeias. A graça esteja convosco!
