¹ But, as they were speaking unto the people, the High-priests and the Captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

¹ Enquanto Pedro e João falavam ao povo, chegaram os sacerdotes, o capitão da guarda do templo e os saduceus.

² Being tired out because of their teaching the people, and announcing, in Jesus, the resurrection from among the dead;

² Eles estavam muito perturbados porque os apóstolos estavam ensinando o povo e proclamando em Jesus a ressurreição dos mortos.

³ And they thrust on them their hands, and put them in custody for the morrow, for it was evening, already.

³ Agarraram Pedro e João e, como já estava anoitecendo, os colocaram na prisão até o dia seguinte.

⁴ Howbeit, many of them that heard the word, believed; and the number of the men became about five thousand.

⁴ Mas, muitos dos que tinham ouvido a mensagem creram, chegando o número dos homens que creram a perto de cinco mil.

⁵ And it came to pass, upon the morrow, that there were gathered together of them, the rulers and the elders and the scribes, in Jerusalem;

⁵ No dia seguinte, as autoridades, os líderes religiosos e os mestres da lei reuniram-se em Jerusalém.

⁶ Also Annas, the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of high-priestly descent;

⁶ Estavam ali Anás, o sumo sacerdote, bem como Caifás, João, Alexandre e todos os que eram da família do sumo sacerdote.

⁷ And, setting them in the midst, they began to enquireIn what manner of power, or in what manner of name, did, ye, do this?

⁷ Mandaram trazer Pedro e João diante deles e começaram a interrogá-los: "Com que poder ou em nome de quem vocês fizeram isso? "

⁸ Then Peter, filled with Holy Spirit, said unto themYe rulers of the people, and elders!

⁸ Então Pedro, cheio do Espírito Santo, disse-lhes: "Autoridades e líderes do povo!

⁹ If, we, this day, are to be examined for doing good to a sick man,in whom, this, man hath been made well,

⁹ Visto que hoje somos chamados para prestar contas de um ato de bondade em favor de um aleijado, sendo interrogados acerca de como ele foi curado,

¹⁰ Be it known unto you all, and unto all the people of Israel: that, in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,whom, ye, crucified, whom, God, raised from among the dead, in him, doth, this man stand by, in your presence, whole.

¹⁰ saibam os senhores e todo o povo de Israel que por meio do nome de Jesus Cristo, o Nazareno, a quem os senhores crucificaram, mas a quem Deus ressuscitou dos mortos, este homem está aí curado diante dos senhores.

¹¹ This, is the stone, set at nought by you the builders, which became the head of the corner;

¹¹ Este Jesus é ‘a pedra que vocês, construtores, rejeitaram, e que se tornou a pedra angular’.

¹² And there is in no one else, salvation, for, neither is there any other name, under heaven, which hath been set forth among men, in which we must needs be saved.

¹² Não há salvação em nenhum outro, pois, debaixo do céu não há nenhum outro nome dado aos homens pelo qual devamos ser salvos".

¹³ And, looking at Peters boldness of speech, and Johns, and having discovered that they were unlettered and obscure men, they began to marvel, recognising them also, that they had been with Jesus;

¹³ Vendo a coragem de Pedro e de João, e percebendo que eram homens comuns e sem instrução, ficaram admirados e reconheceram que eles haviam estado com Jesus.

¹⁴ Seeing, the man also standing, with them, even the

¹⁴ E como podiam ver ali com eles o homem que fora curado, nada podiam dizer contra eles.

¹⁵ Howbeit, ordering them to go forth outside the high-council, they began to confer one with another,

¹⁵ Assim, ordenaram que se retirassem do Sinédrio e começaram a discutir,

¹⁶ SayingWhat are we to do with these men? For, indeed, that a notable sign hath come to pass through their means, unto all who are dwelling in Jerusalem, is manifest, and we cannot deny !

¹⁶ perguntando: "Que faremos com esses homens? Todos os que moram em Jerusalém sabem que eles realizaram um milagre notório que não podemos negar.

¹⁷ Nevertheless, lest it further spread abroad among the people, let us charge them with threats, to be no more speaking upon this name, to any soul of man.

¹⁷ Todavia, para impedir que isso se espalhe ainda mais entre o povo, precisamos adverti-los de que não falem mais com ninguém sobre esse nome".

¹⁸ And, calling them, they gave them the sweeping charge,not to be sounding aloud, nor even to be teaching, upon the name of Jesus.

¹⁸ Então, chamando-os novamente, ordenaram-lhes que não falassem nem ensinassem em nome de Jesus.

¹⁹ But, Peter and John, answering, said unto themWhether it be right in presence of God, unto you, to be hearkening, rather than unto God, judge!

¹⁹ Mas Pedro e João responderam: "Julguem os senhores mesmos se é justo aos olhos de Deus obedecer aos senhores e não a Deus.

²⁰ For, we, cannot but be speaking the things which we have seen and heard.

²⁰ Pois não podemos deixar de falar do que vimos e ouvimos".

²¹ They, however, further charging them with threats, let them go, finding nothing as to how they might chastise them, on account of the people; because, all, were glorifying God for that which had come to pass;

²¹ Depois de mais ameaças, eles os deixaram ir. Não tinham como castigá-los, porque todo o povo estava louvando a Deus pelo que acontecera.

²² For, more than forty years old, was the man, upon whom had taken place, this healing sign.

²² Pois o homem que fora curado milagrosamente tinha mais de quarenta anos de idade.

²³ But, when they had been let go, they came unto their own , and told as many things as, unto them, the High-priests and Elders, had said.

²³ Quando foram soltos, Pedro e João voltaram para os seus e contaram tudo o que os chefes dos sacerdotes e os líderes religiosos lhes tinham dito.

²⁴ And, they, having heard, with one accord, uplifted voice unto God, and saidO Sovereign! Thou, art he that made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are herein:

²⁴ Ouvindo isso, levantaram juntos a voz a Deus, dizendo: "Ó Soberano, tu fizeste o céu, a terra, o mar e tudo o que neles há!

²⁵ Who, by our father, through means of the Holy Spirit, even by the mouth of David thy servant, saidUnto what end did nations rage, and, peoples, busy themselves with empty things?

²⁵ Tu falaste pelo Espírito Santo por boca do teu servo, nosso pai Davi: ‘Por que se enfurecem as nações, e os povos conspiram em vão?

²⁶ The kings of the earth stationed themselves, and, the rulers, were gathered together, with one intent, against the Lord, and against his Christ.

²⁶ Os reis da terra se levantam, e os governantes se reúnem contra o Senhor e contra o seu Ungido’.

²⁷ For they were gathered together, of a truth, in this city, against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hadst anointed,both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with them of the nations, and peoples of Israel;

²⁷ De fato, Herodes e Pôncio Pilatos reuniram-se com os gentios e com os povos de Israel nesta cidade, para conspirar contra o teu santo servo Jesus, a quem ungiste.

²⁸ To do whatsoever, thy hand and thy counsel, marked out beforehand to come to pass.

²⁸ Fizeram o que o teu poder e a tua vontade haviam decidido de antemão que acontecesse.

²⁹ As to the present things, then, O Lord,look upon their threats, and grant unto thy servants, with all freedom of utterance, to be speaking thy word,

²⁹ Agora, Senhor, considera as ameaças deles e capacita os teus servos para anunciarem a tua palavra corajosamente.

³⁰ By stretching forth thy hand for healing, and by the coming to pass of both signs and wonders, through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.

³⁰ Estende a tua mão para curar e realizar sinais e maravilhas por meio do nome do teu santo servo Jesus".

³¹ And, when they had made supplication, the place was shaken in which they were gathered together, and they were filled, one and all, with the Holy Spirit, and began speaking the word of God with freedom of utterance.

³¹ Depois de orarem, tremeu o lugar em que estavam reunidos; todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e anunciavam corajosamente a palavra de Deus.

³² And, the throng of them that believed, had one heart and soul, and not so much as one was saying that, aught of his goods, was, his own, but they had all things common.

³² Da multidão dos que creram, uma era a mente e um o coração. Ninguém considerava unicamente sua coisa alguma que possuísse, mas compartilhavam tudo o que tinham.

³³ And, with great power, were the apostles giving forth their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; great favour also was upon them all.

³³ Com grande poder os apóstolos continuavam a testemunhar da ressurreição do Senhor Jesus, e grandiosa graça estava sobre todos eles.

³⁴ For there was not so much as anyone, lacking, among them; for, as many as were possessors of lands or houses, selling them, were bringing the prices of the things that were being sold,

³⁴ Não havia pessoas necessitadas entre eles, pois os que possuíam terras ou casas as vendiam, traziam o dinheiro da venda

³⁵ And laying them at the feet of the Apostles, while on the other hand they were distributing unto each one, in so far as any one had, need.

³⁵ e o colocavam aos pés dos apóstolos, que o distribuíam segundo a necessidade de cada um.

³⁶ And, Joseph, who had been surnamed Barnabas by the Apostles, which is to be translated Son of Exhortation,a Levite, a Cyprian by nation,

³⁶ José, um levita de Chipre a quem os apóstolos deram o nome de Barnabé, que significa encorajador,

³⁷ Having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the feet of the Apostles.

³⁷ vendeu um campo que possuía, trouxe o dinheiro e o colocou aos pés dos apóstolos.
