¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, through the will of God, and Timothy the brother,unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, together with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

¹ Paulo, um apóstolo de Jesus Cristo pela vontade de Deus, e Timóteo nosso irmão, à igreja de Deus, que está em Corinto, com todos os santos que estão em toda a Acaia:

² Favour unto you, and peace, from God

² Graça seja convosco, e a paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

³ Blessed, be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions, and God of all encouragement,

³ Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai das misericórdias, e o Deus de toda consolação;

⁴ Who encourageth us in all our tribulation, to the end we may be able to encourage them who are in any tribulationthrough means of the encouragement wherewith we, ourselves, are encouraged by God.

⁴ que nos conforta em toda a nossa tribulação, para que também possamos confortar os que estiverem em alguma tribulação, por meio do consolo com o qual nós mesmos somos confortados por Deus.

⁵ Because, even as the sufferings of the Christ overflow unto us, so, through the Christ, overfloweth, our encouragement also.

⁵ Porque como os sofrimentos de Cristo são abundantes em nós, assim também a nossa consolação é abundante por meio de Cristo.

⁶ But, whether we are in tribulation, it is for your encouragement and salvation; whether we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which worketh inwardly by the endurance of the same sufferings which, we also, suffer;

⁶ E se somos afligidos, é para vossa consolação e salvação; que é eficaz na perseverança dos mesmos sofrimentos que nós também sofremos; ou se somos confortados, é para vossa consolação e salvação.

⁷ And so, our hope, is sure in your behalf,knowing that,as ye are sharers of the sufferings, so, also of the encouragement.

⁷ E a nossa esperança acerca de vós é firme, sabendo que assim como sois participantes dos sofrimentos, assim também o sereis da consolação.

⁸ For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to our tribulation which happened in Asia,that, exceedingly, beyond power, were we weighed down, so that we despaired, even of life.

⁸ Porque nós não queremos, irmãos, que ignoreis a dificuldade que nos sobreveio na Ásia, que fomos oprimidos excessivamente, acima das nossas forças, de tal modo que nos desesperamos até da vida;

⁹ But, we ourselves, within ourselves, have had the sentence of death, that we might not rest our confidence upon ourselves, but upon God, who raiseth the dead,

⁹ mas tínhamos a sentença de morte em nós mesmos, para que não confiássemos em nós mesmos, mas em Deus que ressuscita os mortos;

¹⁰ Who, out of so great a death, rescued us, and will rescue,unto whom we have turned our hope, that , even yet, he will rescue:

¹⁰ o qual nos livrou de tão grande morte e livra; em quem confiamos que ainda nos livrará;

¹¹ Ye also labouring together on our behalf, by your supplication, that, unto many persons, being due the gift of favour, unto us, through means of many, might thanks be given in our behalf.

¹¹ juntos também ajudando com orações por nós, para que pelo dom a nós concedido, por meio de muitas pessoas, graças sejam dadas por muitos a nosso respeito.

¹² For, our boasting, is, this,the witness of our conscience, that, in sanctity and sincerity of God, and not in fleshly wisdom, but in Gods favour, have we behaved ourselves in the world,and more abundantly towards you.

¹² Porque o nosso regozijo é este: o testemunho da nossa consciência, de que, com simplicidade e sinceridade piedosa, não com sabedoria carnal, mas pela graça de Deus, tivemos nossa conversação no mundo, e mais abundantemente convosco.

¹³ For, no other things, are we writing unto you, than what ye are either reading or even acknowledging,I hope, moreover, that, throughout, ye will acknowledge,

¹³ Porque não vos escrevemos nenhumas outras coisas, senão as que ledes ou reconheceis; e eu confio que vós as reconhecereis até ao fim;

¹⁴ According as ye have also acknowledged us, in part,that, your theme of boasting, we are, even indeed as, ye, also

¹⁴ como também nos reconhecestes em parte, que somos o vosso regozijo, assim como também vós sois o nosso no dia do Senhor Jesus.

¹⁵ And, in this confidence, I purposed, before, to come unto you,in order that, a second joy, ye might have,

¹⁵ E nesta confiança propus anteriormente ir até vós, para que tivésseis um segundo benefício;

¹⁶ And, by your means, to pass into Macedonia, and, again, from Macedonia, to come unto you, and, by you, be set forward unto Judea:

¹⁶ e de passar por vós até a Macedônia, e novamente retornar da Macedônia e ir a vós, e ser conduzido por vós no meu caminho em direção à Judeia.

¹⁷ This, then, being my purpose, perhaps, after all, with lightness, I dealt ? or, the things that I purpose, according to the flesh, I purpose,that, with me, should be the Yea, yea, and the Nay, nay?

¹⁷ Quando eu, portanto, deliberei isto, usei de leviandade? Ou o que proponho, o delibero segundo a carne, para que em mim haja sim, sim, e não, não?

¹⁸ Faithful, however, is God, in that, our discourse, which was unto you, is not Yea and Nay;

¹⁸ Mas como Deus é verdadeiro, a nossa palavra para convosco não foi sim e não.

¹⁹ For, the Son of God, Christ Jesuswho, among you, through us, was proclaimed,through me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, became not Yea and Nay,but Yea, in him, hath it become;

¹⁹ Porque o Filho de Deus, Jesus Cristo, que foi pregado entre vós por nós, por mim, Silvano e Timóteo, não foi sim e não, mas nele foi sim.

²⁰ For, how many soever be the promises of God, in him, is the Yea,wherefore also, through him, the Amen, unto God, for glory, through us.

²⁰ Porque todas as promessas de Deus nele são sim, e por ele o Amém, para a glória de Deus por nós.

²¹ Now, he that confirmeth us, together with you, for Christ, and hath anointed us, is God:

²¹ Ora, aquele que nos estabelece convosco em Cristo, e o que nos ungiu, é Deus;

²² Who also hath sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

²² o qual também nos selou, e deu o penhor do Espírito em nossos corações.

²³ But, I, call upon God, as a witness, against my own soul,that, to spare you, not yet, have I come unto Corinth:

²³ Além disso, eu invoco a Deus por testemunha sobre a minha alma, de que para vos poupar ainda não fui para Corinto.

²⁴ Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are, helpers, of your joy, for, by your faith, ye stand.

²⁴ Não que tenhamos domínio sobre a vossa fé, mas somos ajudadores de vossa alegria; porque pela fé estais em pé.
