1 Then spake Saul unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, that they should put David to death;
1 Falou Saul a Jônatas, seu filho, e a todos os servos sobre matar Davi. Jônatas, filho de Saul, mui afeiçoado a Davi,
2 but, Jonathan, Sauls son, delighted in David, exceedingly,so Jonathan told David, saying, Saul, my father, is seeking to put thee to death,now, therefore, take heed to thyself I pray thee, in the morning, and abide thou in concealment, and hide thyself;
2 o fez saber a este, dizendo: Meu pai, Saul, procura matar-te; acautela-te, pois, pela manhã, fica num lugar oculto e esconde-te.
3 and, I, will come out and stand beside my father, in the field where, thou, art, and, I, will speak of thee unto my father,and, if I see aught, I will tell thee.
3 Eu sairei e estarei ao lado de meu pai no campo onde estás; falarei a teu respeito a meu pai, e verei o que houver, e te farei saber.
4 So then Jonathan spake of David things that were good, unto Saul his father,and said unto himMay the king not sin against his servantagainst David; for he hath not sinned against, thee, nay, indeed, his doings have been good to theeward exceedingly.
4 Então, Jônatas falou bem de Davi a Saul, seu pai, e lhe disse: Não peque o rei contra seu servo Davi, porque ele não pecou contra ti, e os seus feitos para contigo têm sido mui importantes.
5 And, when he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Yahweh wrought a great victory for all Israel, thou sawest, and didst rejoice. Wherefore, then, shouldst thou sin against innocent blood by putting David to death, without cause?
5 Arriscando ele a vida, feriu os filisteus e efetuou o Senhor grande livramento a todo o Israel; tu mesmo o viste e te alegraste; por que, pois, pecarias contra sangue inocente, matando Davi sem causa?
6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan,and Saul sware, By the life of Yahweh, he shall not be put to death!
6 Saul atendeu à voz de Jônatas e jurou: Tão certo como vive o Senhor , ele não morrerá.
7 And Jonathan called for David, and Jonathan told him all these things,and Jonathan brought in David unto Saul, and so he was in his presence, as aforetime.
7 Jônatas chamou a Davi, contou-lhe todas estas palavras e o levou a Saul; e esteve Davi perante este como dantes.
8 But, when the war again brake out,and David went forth and fought with the Philistines, and smote them with a great smiting, and they fled before him,
8 Tornou a haver guerra, e, quando Davi pelejou contra os filisteus e os feriu com grande derrota, e fugiram diante dele,
9 then came there a sad spirit of Yahweh unto Saul, he being in his house, seated, with his spear in his hand,while, David, played with his hand,
9 o espírito maligno, da parte do Senhor , tornou sobre Saul; estava este assentado em sua casa e tinha na mão a sua lança, enquanto Davi dedilhava o seu instrumento músico.
10 Saul sought to smite David with the spear, even to the wall, but he slipped away from before Saul, who smote the spear into the wall,whereas, David, fled and escaped, that night.
10 Procurou Saul encravar a Davi na parede, porém ele se desviou do seu golpe, indo a lança ferir a parede; então, fugiu Davi e escapou.
11 And Saul sent messengers unto Davids house, to watch him, and to put him to death, in the morning! And Michal his wife told David, saying, If thou do not deliver thyself to-night, to-morrow, art thou to be put to death.
11 Porém Saul, naquela mesma noite, mandou mensageiros à casa de Davi, que o vigiassem, para ele o matar pela manhã; disto soube Davi por Mical, sua mulher, que lhe disse: Se não salvares a tua vida esta noite, amanhã serás morto.
12 So Michal let down David, through the window, and he departed and fled, and escaped.
12 Então, Mical desceu Davi por uma janela; e ele se foi, fugiu e escapou.
13 And Michal took the household god, and put it in the bed, and, a fly-net of goats-hair, put she at its head,and covered it with the clothes.
13 Mical tomou um ídolo do lar, e o deitou na cama, e pôs-lhe à cabeça um tecido de pelos de cabra, e o cobriu com um manto.
14 And, when Saul sent messengers to take David, she saidHe is, sick.
14 Tendo Saul enviado mensageiros que trouxessem Davi, ela disse: Está doente.
15 So Saul sent messengers to see David, saying,Bring him up in the bed unto me, that I may put him to death.
15 Então, Saul mandou mensageiros que vissem Davi, ordenando-lhes: Trazei-mo mesmo na cama, para que o mate.
16 And, when the messengers entered, lo! the household god in the bed,with a fly-net of goats-hair at its head.
16 Vindo, pois, os mensageiros, eis que estava na cama o ídolo do lar, e o tecido de pelos de cabra, ao redor de sua cabeça.
17 And Saul said unto MichalWherefore, in this way, hast thou deceived me, and let go mine enemy, that he hath escaped? Then said Michal unto Saul, He, himself, said unto meLet me go, wherefore should I put thee to death?
17 Então, disse Saul a Mical: Por que assim me enganaste e deixaste ir e escapar o meu inimigo? Respondeu-lhe Mical: Porque ele me disse: Deixa-me ir; se não, eu te mato.
18 So, David, fled, and escaped, and came in unto Samuel in Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him,and he and Samuel departed, and dwelt in Naioth.
18 Assim, Davi fugiu, e escapou, e veio a Samuel, a Ramá, e lhe contou tudo quanto Saul lhe fizera; e se retiraram, ele e Samuel, e ficaram na casa dos profetas.
19 And it was told Saul, saying,Lo! David, is in Naioth, in Ramah.
19 Foi dito a Saul: Eis que Davi está na casa dos profetas, em Ramá.
20 So Saul sent messengers to take David, but, when they saw the assembly of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, then came the Spirit of God upon the messengers of Saul, and, they also, were, moved to prophesy.
20 Então, enviou Saul mensageiros para trazerem Davi, os quais viram um grupo de profetas profetizando, onde estava Samuel, que lhes presidia; e o Espírito de Deus veio sobre os mensageiros de Saul, e também eles profetizaram.
21 And, when they told Saul, and he sent other messengers, then were, they also, moved to prophesy. And, when Saul again sent messengers a third time, then were, they also, moved to prophesy.
21 Avisado disto, Saul enviou outros mensageiros, e também estes profetizaram; então, enviou Saul ainda uns terceiros, os quais também profetizaram.
22 Then went, he also himself, to Ramah, and came in as far as the well of the threshing-floor which is in Sephi, and asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one saidLo! in Naioth, in Ramah.
22 Então, foi também ele mesmo a Ramá e, chegando ao poço grande que estava em Seco, perguntou: Onde estão Samuel e Davi? Responderam-lhe: Eis que estão na casa dos profetas, em Ramá.
23 And, when he departed from thence towards Naioth in Ramah, then came upon, him also, the Spirit of God, and he went on and on, and was moved to prophesy, until he entered Naioth in Ramah.
23 Então, foi para a casa dos profetas, em Ramá; e o mesmo Espírito de Deus veio sobre ele, que, caminhando, profetizava até chegar à casa dos profetas, em Ramá.
24 And, even he, stripped off his upper garments, and, even he, was moved to prophesy before Samuel, and lay prostrate, disrobed, all that day, and all the night. For this cause, do they say, Is, even Saul, among the prophets?
24 Também ele despiu a sua túnica, e profetizou diante de Samuel, e, sem ela, esteve deitado em terra todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite; pelo que se diz: Está também Saul entre os profetas?
